It’s the day of the burial and the past days have been easier and soothing since my best friend has been by my side helping me heal just a little. The neighbours have also been unexpectedly supportive and most of them do turn up for the funeral. I'm pleased as well as comforted to see Betty among the congregation. She casts me a sympathetic glance. The service is held at the local church instead of the funeral chapel reason being I confidently believe it’s what my grandma would have wanted. The church choir sings a few beautiful melodies before the preacher takes the stand to share a few scriptures and words of comfort.
