Alicia got up and scratching her messy hair looked around. She was still on the balcony. Like any girl, she was not lucky enough to fall asleep on the couch and wake up in bed the next morning. For her, she was not that girl.
No matter how many mornings she woke up, she would still be the same miserable Alicia, who needed to survive for her brother. And she knew that this fact was never going to change.
“Um… sorry, I couldn’t keep a note when I fell asleep here,” said Alicia, standing on her feet.
Only then she noticed a blanket that was covering her. She was astounded seeing it. But soon her gloomy heart lit up thinking that blanket might be wrapped by Ace. She was so happy and wanted to jump up in the air. His small gesture made her heart light up.
“It’s alright, ma’am. Hope you will not catch a cold as it is cold outside at night,” said the lady in a gentle voice.
“Thank you…aacchuu…” she sneezed.
“You should take medicine, ma’am.”
“Okay, I will. Thank you for your concern,” said Alicia before carrying the blanket and walking to the suite.
She was about to knock on the door but she noticed that the door was not locked. She slowly pushed the door and walked inside.
Ace was not around the room. As she walked towards the bed to place the blanket, she was astounded to see another blanket already on the bed. She glanced at the blanket on her hand and back on the bed.
“If this blanket is here, then who covered me with this blanket?” Alicia was wondering before she flinched hearing Ace behind her.
“Where were you the whole night?”
Hastily turning towards Ace, she replied, “I was at the balcony.” Alicia’s heart turned sad when she became sure that it was not Ace who showed the gesture towards her.
“What? Tell me one thing…” Ace stepped towards her staring at her with his cold eyes and added, “why are you here?”
“I… I…” stammering, Alicia stepped backward.
“You came here to serve me or roam around?”
Alicia’s back collided with the wall. Lowering her head she replied in a scared tone, “to serve you…”
“I didn’t hear you…” Ace said stepping close to her and resting one hand on the wall.
“To… serve you, master,” Alicia said louder gulping hard.
“So, why were you not here last night?” he questioned.
“I… I fall asleep on the balcony,” replied Alicia.
“What? Don’t feed me with your lie, Alicia…”
“Yes, I am telling you the truth. I slept on the couch there,” replied Alicia not meeting his eyes due to fright.
“And what proof do you have that you were sleeping on the couch? What proof is there that you were not with that man?” Ace's voice was solemn and cold which was making her tremble like a leaf. His eyes were fixed on her.
“Um… this blanket,” she replied, raising the blanket close to her face.
He glanced at it for a while and then at her. He then questioned, “who gave you this?”
“I… I…” Alicia stammered. She knew that if she told Ace that she didn’t know who covered her with it, then he would not believe him and might take her wrong which means getting another punishment. So she managed to lie, “the hotel worker passed me this blanket last night when I was standing on the balcony.”
“Hotel worker?” Ace raised his eyebrows.
“I meant hotel lady worker,” she replied hastily.
“That’s better. Now tell me which lady worker?” Ace questioned turning around and walking towards the mirror.
“Um… I don’t remember her name,” she replied, keeping the blanket on the bed.
“What? You don’t remember the person’s name who helped you?” Ace glanced at her on the reflection.
Tapping her feet in nervousness, Alicia replied, “I didn’t get a chance to ask her name.”
“Hm… that makes sense. But you need to thank that lady. So I am calling all the workers here,” Ace walked towards the table phone.
Alicia crushed underneath her breath and gulped hard, “s**t… why do I have to bring this blanket here?”
When Ace was about to dial the hotel number, the door was knocked twice and in a while, the same lady from the balcony appeared pushing the cart.
“Sir, your breakfast…” she said and picking up the tray from the cart placed it on the table.
“Ace, you don’t have to call the worker. She is the one,” Alicia said, walking close to the lady and wrapping her hand around her shoulder, she said, “thank you so much for the blanket. I didn’t get to thank you last night.”
The lady was totally shocked hearing her and as she was about to open her mouth to speak out, Alicia secretly gestured to her to lie.
“Thank you…” Alicia said again to which the lady responded nodding her head, “it’s my pleasure, ma’am.”
When the lady left, Ace walking to the table said, “Get ready, we are going out.”
Alicia nodded her head hastily and getting her clothes, rushed towards the washroom. But as she was about to close the door, Ace ordered, “don’t close it.”
“Sorry…” Alicia said not being able to understand him.
“Leave the door open,” replied Ace, stuffing the sandwich on his mouth.
Alicia had no other option rather than to nod her head and leave the door wide open. Ripping her clothes off her body, she stood under the shower nude.
Ace glanced at her taking one after another bite. When she was done cleaning her up, she grabbed the towel and wrapped her body with it, she started to dry her long hair.
Ace stood up and took her luggage, he unzipped it. One after another he started to pull out her clothes from them and started to throw them on the floor.
Alicia was totally unknown about it. She was trying her best not to delay or else she had to get ready for another punishment from him.
