Part 1

Something was not right. She could feel it as she looked at the brown side of the pancake. Maybe it was slightly burnt. But she wasn't going to hear any of that because she was the best chef, in spite of accidentally poisoning her classmates with her food. It was accident so that doesn't count. Emily can't believe that this is what she had been reduced to. Honestly she felt like she should get paid for these tasks, well she's happy to do that for her sister in law always but anyways she hoped that it wouldn't disgust her own to eat that later. "Emily be quick please" Leah's voice sounded to which Emily huffed while placing the last of pancakes on the plate and then swiftly walked out of the kitchen. She noticed her mother lounge around, casually flipping the pages of the magazine while sipping at her mock tail. Such hate crime against her. Her sister in law just found out she was pregnant and her cravings had gotten worse. Just a day before she demanded to eat raw pickels with pasta and today she asked for hot chilli sauce applied on both sides of pancake. Omegas demanded crazy food during their pregnancy. Sadly her brothers were not in the town, they went to the city for some meeting and wouldn't return for two days and she was assigned to look after her sister in law. Her mother could do but she won't, pretending to be old and feeble all of a sudden. Yeah right. "Emily, principessa did you read the Alpha section of the magazine?" Her mother questioned peeking her head towards her to which she cringed, her eyes rolling back. She slumped on the seat beside her sister in law who looked at her sympathetically. Emily was an unmated omega who just completed her MBA. She loved to help her dad in his company. She planned on joining full time, but she was waiting for few months till her office was being renovated. Her father promised her that she could join after that because her brothers were busy with their own company and didn't show any interest in his. She knew it was solely because Edward didn't like his father or anything associated with him and she can't convince him otherwise so it was better to avoid that topic. So she'll be working soon in the largest company but will be single. And that was the talk of town apparently because they all were interested in her life for some reason. It was not like she didn't want mate but she wasn't finding him. Her mother was adamant on finding her a eligible mate. Sometimes it happened that omegas who didn't find their mates settle with others and bond with them. If somehow they find their mates later in life they don't act up, instead settle with their bonded partners, the same goes for Alphas. But some Alphas can't resist the pull so they go back to their omegas, leaving them heartbroken. "Mom please..." She groaned trying not stare at the way Leah was licking at the sauce. She already said her mother, that she'll wait for a year and if by twenty fifth she doesn't find anything she'll let them do the work. But it seemed like her mother turned deaf ear to that statement and made it a mission to casually lay those magazines for her to find out someone. How can you pick someone just by looking at their face and select them as your mate for lifetime? It was ridiculous concept. "There's no harm in casually browsing. That's all I'm saying" Emma huffed staring at her daughter and then focused back on her magazine to which Leah mumbled something beside her but she wasn't sure she heard her. It must be something about pancakes. "Emily?" Her father called while standing at the edge of his study to which she turned her head towards him. She hummed while raising her eyebrow at him. "Did Erik and Evan return?" He questioned while removing the glasses off his face. "No papa..." She answered and then questioned, "I don't think they'll be back today. What happened?" She asked and noticed that her mother stood up from the seat and was walking towards the dining table with magazine in her hand. "What happened Emmett?" Emma questioned to which she stared back at her father who had sighed. "Moretti sent his son to come here but unfortunately he's unable to get inside, he doesn't remember the pack house..." He mumbled and then descended down the stairs with glasses in his hand to which Emily racked her brain to think about Moretti. Her father had lot of friends, like many because he was the bad boy of school and everyone knew him. He used to pull all those elaborative pranks with his group. And she was sure that she heard about Moretti name before. "Moretti? Lucas sent his son here?" Emma gasped and Emily noticed the surprised look on her face and she just sighed because even though she tried she couldn't remember anyone by that name. "Who is he?" Leah questioned before Emily could interrupt to which she heard Emma make a excited sound. "He's Emmett's best friend and they both were partners in crime back in school. Made living hell for all of us..." "Only because I couldn't get enough of you tesero" Emmett interuppted and the way her mother blushed made Emily to avert her eyes. They were so gross even in this age. "Mom please control..." Emily reminded her mother who just huffed and then stared back at Leah who was looking at her with a fond expression. "Yeah anyways Lucas is the pack leader of BloodMoon pack..." That's when it hit Emily that indeed she heard his name before because he was partner of their company. How could she forget that? She wanted to mentally slap herself for that mistake but looked back at her mother. "...son Zach. I think it must be years since we last saw him. He had been staying with his uncle..." "Emily?" Her father called to which she moved her head towards her father who was staring at her impatiently. "What papa?" She exclaimed looking at him. She was actually interested in listening about Zach, the person her mother was praising but she couldnt even hear properly, thanks to her father. "Please do me a favour and bring him back here. I would have sent your brothers but they are not home."His father requested looking at her to which she groaned. She didn't like when she had to talk to strangers and pretend that their life was something she was interested in. Um. No thank you. She would rather mind her own business. Maybe call Aisha and Vale and go shopping with them. Or best just hit up the bowling alley and annoy Alphas who think they are best at the game. It was always fun. "So? Ask your beta... Or someone from our pack. I don't want to go" She gave him a pout to which he shook his head and gave her a stern look. She gulped at that. "Don't be stubborn principessa... They don't know him but I'm sure you'll recognise him. You all used to play together when you were younger." She stared at her father hoping for him to chuckle or burst out laughing because there was no way she could remember anything about him, at least not his face. "You are serious" She pointed out when he didn't even crack a smile and when he nodded his head at her she let out a dramatic sigh. Why does she have to do all the work around here? Where were her brothers when she needed them? Those lucky bastards. "Si. Now take the keys and off you go." "Where are you sending her?" Emma asked breaking from her intense story telling and Emily smiled because maybe her mother will save her from not going to bring that Alpha. Honestly what kind of Alpha would he be? She tried to remember someone from childhood. Due to her being in a pack and the centre of attention because she was Alphas only daughter she was pampered a lot. The wolves used to run on her whim and often agreed to anything she demanded for. She was spoiled that way and she was a social butterfly, playing with everyone, including everyone. "I am sending her to Zach... She can bring him back here. Guards know her well" Her father answered to which she noticed her mother's face lit up. She was sure it must be because she was excited about her daughter meeting an Alpha. Wheels were definitely turning inside her head by the look on her face and then she turned to look at Emily, "What are you waiting for? Go pick your keys" Ugh. The betrayal. With a defeated sigh she walked away thinking how she needed a better family. ***
