Emily swallowed the lump down her throat as she tried to ignore his comment. How are you even going to respond to that?
"Zach..."
"I'm so sorry that was so wrong to say...Just please drive" He apologised looking at the side of her head. She clenched her thighs shut and hummed, not looking at him because she would definitely abandon the driving and climb on top of him. Her omega was so in the heat for his knot.
She increased the volume to drown out the thoughts and ignore the way Zach was looking at her from time to time as if he was ready to jump her bones.
After that agonizing few minutes, she finally parks the car and got out of the vehicle. Emily sucked a huge breath, trying to erase the smell of him and get in the smell of English rose from her garden as much as she could. She noticed that her brothers well still not back which was a sort of relief because she really was not in the mood for an integration.
She then realised the presence behind her and noticed that he was busy trying to adjust his pants which made her blush. It was her fault definitely.
"Uh..." She cleared her throat which got his attention and he immediately tucked his hands inside the pocket.
"This is the way" She pointed towards the door as if he couldn't see the huge door and then immediately jogged towards the stairs. Emily was aware that he was following her because his scent was the only thing she could breathe.
She frowned when she noticed that the door was slightly ajar and pushed it open only to see her sister in law waddling around the couch area with a magazine in her hand. She just ignored that.
"Mom..." She yelled while stepping inside.
"Just a second" She heard a voice echo and then she noticed that her mother and her father emerged out of their room with a huge grin on their faces. It didn't sit right with her though because it was gross imagine them having s*x.
"Is he here?" Leah piped while holding her stomach and looking at her brightly when Zach slid from behind her.
"Yeah. Hi, I'm Zach Moretti" He said with a smile on his face.
"Oh hi..." Leah mumbled a bit star-struck and Emily was relieved that she wasn't the only one who was starstruck with his beauty.
"Leah Romano, Luna of the pack" She introduced herself with a smile. Zach bowed down and took her hand.
"Uh...So you are Edward's mate?" Zach questioned with his eyes focused on her.
Leah shook her head, "Edward's and Ethan's mate"
"Right. Yeah. It's been a long time since I've seen them both. Are they not here?" Zach politely questioned.
"Sadly no. They had some important business matters to attend" Emmett interrupted before Leah could answer the question.
The omega noticed that the Alpha tensed at his presence.
"Hi, Zach. My goodness, you have grown so much since I saw you. How are you?" Emma cooed while looking at him. The omega wanted to hide at her mother's enthusiasm.
"I'm fine Mrs Romano. How are you?" Zach asked with his jaw clenched.
"I'm beautiful as always." Emily's father laughed at that.
"Thank you for asking dear. Is your family alright?"
The omega noticed that the Alpha tensed even more at that and he was quiet.
"At least invite the boy in before you start interrogating." Emmett loudly interrupted. Emily smiled at her father and then walked towards the couch. Leah sat on the farthest couch while resting her swollen feet on the ottoman stool. She was tired of pack visits.
"Sorry...Force of habit. Would you like to have some beverage? Some wine?" Emma asked again once he was seated. Emily shrunk beside her father trying to avoid being near her mate.
"It's too early for wine... Water would be fine." She nodded her head and went back inside.
"The packed house seems to empty," Zach remarked looking around. Emily noticed her father tense beside her before he let out a sigh.
"Many of them are shifting... It's sad to see those families go. We are trying everything we can but those brutal attacks have evoked fear into omegas."
From the corner of her eyes, Emily could see that Leah was upset about it and didn't contribute anything. She couldn't understand her feelings but she knew that her sister in law was deeply disturbed by the events as she had to some time go and talk to the abducted omegas.
"Just a suggestion but you all should use those electric fences across the fence...so hideous but strong and it would knock out Alphas. And the siren system... It works very well. I suggested the same thing for our pack" Zach mumbled with a shrug. Emily was very impressed by that. She had never thought about it before. He looked so nonchalant about it.
"That's actually a brilliant idea. Thank you really. I'll talk to my sons about it."
"Yeah, I am sure they will be very happy to hear this. With so much work and council meetings and my pregnancy, they don't have time to implement these. Thank you so much for the suggestions" Leah smiled, a bright look on her face.
"Oh it was nothing," Zach shook his head. The omega could see the faint tint of redness in his cheeks and she was even more endeared by him.
"You should take the credit son. It is much needed at times."
"Here's your water," Emma said putting the tray with various assortments towards him and Emily wanted to laugh at the look on his face.
"Thank you, Mrs Romano" He forced a smile.
"Call me Emma. Mrs Romano is so formal and makes it sound like Mrs Robinson" She giggled. Emily facepalmed herself. Everyone was finding that amusing but her. Zach directed a look in her direction but she just ducked out and hid behind her father's sleeve.
"Mom"
"What?" Her mother airily asked and turned back her attention towards the guest.
"So I take it everything is fine with Morettis?" Her father cleared his throat.
"Oh yes. Everyone is fine. Actually, I came here to invite your family for my niece's wolf christening. It's next weekend...Hold on a second" Zach said and from his jacket pocket extracted a beautifully wrapped packet.
"Oh my god, she's five already?" Emma asked while ripping the packet.
"Is that Anna's daughter?" Emily asked while staring at him and noticed the way his eyes didn't shift from her.
"Yep. Her first one."
"She has another?"
"She's pregnant right now" He answered.
"Wow, that's so great." Emma squealed happily.
"Yeah... She is excited as well but not in the morning" He laughed along
"Tell me about it. Morning sickness is a b***h" Leah snorted.
"Amen," Emma said and it was quiet for few seconds.
"Is Lucas too old to visit us now?" Emmett questioned while looking at Zach to which she shook his head.
"No, sir. He is actually on a business tour. Will return back next week..." He shrugged to which Emma hummed while still staring at the card as if it was something she had never seen before. Emily just shook her head because her mother must be imaging designing these for her grandkids.
"He is still running his business? I thought he will hand it over to you. Wow"
Zach awkwardly laughed and shrugged but from the look on his face, she could tell that he was not interested to talk about it.
"We will definitely be there. I can't wait to meet everyone." Emma gushed as she passed the card to Leah and then turned towards him, "It's been so long since we all gathered again like this. Five years I think."
Emily doesn't remember any of that because she was out somewhere studying for MBA. She had missed a lot of family gatherings, vacations, she sacrificed so much just for that degree so that she could finally run the company.
"Yeah," He said while taking another sip of his water and then placed the water back.
"Did you lock the garage? Zach, you parked your car inside, right?" Emmett suddenly asked turning towards him. The Alpha shook his head.
"No. Actually, my tyres got slashed on the way here so I came along with Emily." He admitted.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that. Those glasses must be the reason"
"Papa I'll call someone from the old garage to fix it, hm?" Emily said to her father who nodded his head.
"Yes. But please ask them to send Gary. He's a chap." She hummed and then picked her phone.
"Oh shoot you must be knackered from the long drive. Do you want to rest?"
"Yes please" Zach exclaimed and Emma laughed.
"Emil,y can you please be a dear and show him the guest room?" Her mother gave her a challenging look as if to see if she would deny her. Emily let out a sigh and stood up knowing it was just a waste of time.
"Sure. Zach?" She cleared her throat and looked at him.
He immediately stood up and looked at her. She avoided meeting his eyes.
"Let's go"
"After you please" He drawled.
It was going to be a long day.
