Chapter 4

I’m dreaming…

Minerva, you’re just dreaming…

I slapped myself again and again –hoping that I would wake up from this ordeal.

I again faced the mirror and lifted my hair to see my nape and I bit my lower lip when I saw it again –my ordeal, Gavin’s bite.

Being a mate of an Alpha is a life sentence for an Omega because it basically means that the Omega can no longer bear someone else’s child if ever he or she gets married to someone other than the Alpha who marked him or her because the Omega’s body will refuse to mate with another Alpha or even a Beta.

If the Omega forces to mate with another Alpha, it’ll be a very painful process. It’s as if the Omega’s body is being tortured multiple times.

“Fuck..”  I cursed under my breath.

I don’t know what’s running in his mind and he decided to make me his mate. Like, hello?! I’m your rival! We hate each other ever since –well, that’s mostly me  but still!

My phone rang and I let out a deep sigh when I saw his name popping on my screen.

“Speaking of the devil…”

I ignored my phone and again looked at my reflection on the mirror, the phone went silent for a few seconds and it rang again. I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath and answered the phone.

“What the actual f**k do you want?”

“I want to actually f**k you, that’s what I want.”

I clenched my fists and let out a deep breath to calm myself down.

“Seriously, what do you want?” I asked in a calm manner but Gavin, this freaking asshole still found his way to piss me off even more.

“I just told you that I want to f**k you.”

“What the f**k is wrong with you?!” She shouted. She couldn’t bear listening to him teasing her.

“Did I say something wrong though? You’re now my mate, I mean… it’s just normal for the two of us to share our heat—”

She couldn’t bear it anymore. She dropped the call, turned off her phone, removed the sim card inside and broke it to two small pieces.

She again looked at her reflection on the mirror and sighed when she saw Gavin’s bite mark on her nape.

After I’ve finished signing contracts and reviewing business proposals for my company, I went to meet up with my friend Mirae at the café near my house.

“Minerva!” Minerva greeted me with a smile on her face and ran towards my direction and hugged me.

“Minnie baby boo boo!” I laughed when I heard her call me that. She calls me different cute names every time we meet. She’s been doing that since highschool days so I just got used to it.

“You can let me go now.” I said while giggling. She let me go and pouted her lips.

“I’ll let you go this time because we’re in a public place but when we get home, I’ll hug you for the whole night!” she said while pouting. I giggled. We bot sat on the chairs, it seems that Mirae already ordered a drink for the both of us. I smiled when I sipped the coffee that she ordered.

“You really know what’s my favorite flavor.” I said. She smiled proudly.

“Duh, of course.” She said before sipping her mango shake drink. Mirae doesn’t drink coffee because she has coffee allergy. I didn’t believe it at first until she accidentally drank coffee and had to be rushed to the hospital because her blood pressure dropped.

“You were gone for two months, business meetings doesn’t normally last that long Mirae, so… tell me what really happened.” I said to her while she was drinking her mango shake. When she stopped on sipping and her smile turned into a frown, that’s where I knew that something’s up.

“Can we just skip this talk? I-I just got back…”

I lifted both of my hands to the air and mouthed okay. She gave a shy smile.

“Oh… I actually got something for you.” I said and turned around to get my bag behind my back, while I was looking for the gift that I got for her, I heard a glass breaking sound. I turned to her and saw Mirae’s very shocked face.

“Why do you look so shocked? Did something happened? Oh no… you broke—” my words were immediately cut off when Mirae spoke.

“You got marked.” She said. I immediately touched my nape and cursed under my breath when I realized that I got my hair on a bun.

“s**t, I forgot to untie my hair before going here.” I said. Mirae was just looking at me like a very confused child. I looked around and realized that everyone from that café was looking at us.

I immediately pulled money out of my wallet, I didn’t bother to count how much it was and immediately pulled Mirae out of that café.

I brought Mirae to my house to have a talk with her. She’s just looking at me like a very confused and surprised child.

“M-Mirae—”

“You’re marked!” I closed my eyes when she shouted.

“Oh my f*****g shoot!! You’re marked! Oh God! You’re marked!”

“I know that myself Mirae, you don’t have to repeat that I’m marked—”

“You’re really marked! Oh my God!” she continued shouting.

“You got marked… so…” she looked at me and her eyes widened. “Oh my good holy mother of--- You’re an Omega?!”

I massaged the temples of my head.

“Tell me what happened! I demand an answer! Now!”

“I will not tell you a single s**t unless you shut the f**k up Mirae!” I shouted at Mirae. I finally snapped.

“Sorry.” She whispered. I let out a deep breath and sat down on the sofa and while massaging the temples of my head, I started talking.

“Look… I’m also surprised that I’m an Omega. All my life I thought that I was an Alpha because unlike any Omegas, I didn’t have my heat cycle, I also excel in almost everything, I even surpassed the Alpha in our class… I really didn’t know until I…” I sighed and bit my lower lip. The memories of that night came flashing through her eyes and she felt the heat rushing to her face and her heart started beating so fast.

“What happened?” Mirae talked. I gulped and faced her.

“Do you remember G-Gavin?” I asked her.

“Ah yes, that douchebag who used to bully you, he always thinks highly of himself just because he’s an Alph—” Mirae suddenly stopped talking, her eyes widened and I bit my lower lip.

“Him? G-Gavin? T-That douchebag?!”

“Yes…”

“Why?! What happened?!”

“I just met up with him to discuss some things about our business and then… that was when I got my heat. I couldn’t go out of the room because that place was filled with Alphas, I-I’ll get gang-raped if I leave that place alone so I just… accepted his… his h-help.” I explained to Mirae.

“And that was where you got that mark?”

“N-No.” I slipped. Mirae’s jaw dropped.

“You did it… you did it with him twice?!”

I bit my lower lip and nodded my head.

“Was it that good that you did it twice with him? Was he good at doing it?” Mirae’s eyes were suddenly filled with curiosity and Mirae even smiled.

“N-No it wasn’t! I was just forced!”

I lied. That was a lie. No matter how much I deny it, s*x with Gavin was good. It was really good that her eyes rolled up when they reached the peak together.

The thought of reaching the peak together again made her cream her undies. She gulped.

“I knew it, Gavin’s really boring even in s*x. Anyways, you’re marked and that means that you’re f****d—like literally.”

I sighed and touched my nape again.

“I know Mirae… I know.”
