Chapter Six

907 Words
Zariah’s POV I was so lost in the man that was holding me as we danced that I almost didn’t notice the commotion at the entrance. Curse my dirty mind. I think I felt him erect a couple times, but I’m not sure. The look in his eyes just made me want to do anything to have him rip my clothes off and have his way with me. Suddenly, there were people screaming and running towards the emergency exits at the back of the club. We had stopped dancing, of course, by then. I was staring at the entrance as these three tall men came into view. I couldn’t move. I felt frozen to the spot. One of the men had what looked like a scythe, another had what looked like round blades that were on fire, and the other was throwing daggers at people who got in their way. “F**K!” I heard the man I was dancing with say. That’s an understatement, I thought to myself. It seemed as if the men were heading my way. I was just letting them as I still couldn’t talk my legs into moving. The man with the circular blades sliced off some guy’s hand as he had run too close to the man with the blades. Blood sprayed from the man’s wrist where his hand had been. “You need to trust me.” The man next to me said. “Trust you, I don’t know you.” I replied. “Please, just trust me princess.” He said with an urgent tone. I thought, what do I have to lose? "OK.” I nodded my head yes as I said it. “Put your arms around me and hug me tight. Close your eyes and don’t look until I tell you.” He said. I did as he asked, although I didn’t know how this would help. It felt like he lifted me off the ground. “XAN!” I screamed. It got quiet suddenly and I couldn’t hear the music or screaming anymore. I started to shiver a little. Are we outside, I thought to myself? Did he pick me up and run out of there? “You can open your eyes.” I slowly opened them and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I shoved back from him and stared at him like he had grown another head. “Stay away from me.” I said. I backed away quickly towards my van. My dogs were barking now as they smelled me and probably him. I don’t lock my van as too many people won’t come near my dogs. I flung the door open all while keeping my eyes on this strange man. Bella and Venus came leaping out of the van like they were flying and ran to the man encircling him, snarling and growling at him. I took that opportunity to jump in the van and lock the door. “Please, princess, just come out and let me explain.” “No.” I yelled. I wanted to leave, but I wasn’t going to leave my dogs with him. “If you don’t come out, I will hurt your dogs.” “DON’T YOU F**KING DARE!” I screamed. I had a super small kind of kitchen area where I could make food and I grabbed the biggest knife out of the knife block. If he wants to hurt my dogs, I’m going to hurt him, I thought. “What’s it going to be princess?” I opened the van door with my knife stretched out towards him. I climbed out and stepped slowly towards him. I didn’t want to be too far from the van, but I was hoping to get my dogs away from him. When I was a few feet from my van, I whistled, and my dogs stopped snarling and growling. They then came to sit at my feet in front of me staring at him in case he made a move they didn’t like. “Who are you? How did we get here? What do you want with me?” I demanded of him. “We don’t have time for this princess, you just need to come with me, and I’ll explain later.” He said. “No, you tell me now.” I said. “I’m not here to hurt you princess I just want to bring you home.” He said. “And what those men are here to hurt me?” “Yes, princess they probably are.” “Stop calling me princess. I am not a princess.” “Oh, but you are a princess, and we don’t have time for that. We need to go before they find us again,” he said. I looked at him like he lost his f**king mind. “I’m not going anywhere with you. I need to find Xan, and I’m going to call the police as soon as I find my phone.” I said to him a little nervously. “Who is Xan?” “He’s the man I was with at the club before you danced with me.” “Oh, him I saw him going out the back of the club like others. I think he was trying to get to you, but the crowd swept him along to the outside.” He replied like there was nothing out of the ordinary.
