51. Fleas

We go up on deck and Elek looks like he's going to puke. But he gives me a hug. "I do like you. Please don't think I don't."

I hug him back. He is warm. I like him.

Thora pushes him off. "Yea, I'm not convinced. And you got Tre's attention with that. You might want to go way the hell over there."

He walks away rubbing his eyes.

Coral gives us a sack.

I smile at Thora. "He said he likes me."

"Boys say a lot of things."

Dipak and Marcus are talking to Kane at the wheel. They are staring at Elek. "I wonder what they are talking about?"

"Do the ear thing."

We try to hide it and do the ear thing.

Marcus says, "He thought we beat her like that for kissing him?"

"The whole time."

Dipak glances at me and Thora. We drop our hands and look at the stars.

"We're good. He looked away."

I put my hand back up and Marcus laughs. Then Dipak laughs. "Don't look."

"And she did try to have s*x with him in the cave. He said no."

"Yea, she told me that already."

"You really think he'd still say no? You had better get that test done."

"We can let them sort it out. I trust her. She was about broken in that cave. She was honest about it though. That's all we can ask. She won't have s*x without knowing."

"Could you imagine if they came back purple right now? Neither of them would know what the f**k to do. They're a mess. They need to work out some issues before we talk about testing again."

I drop my hand. "They're not wrong."

"Yea. You 2 are a mess."

Dipak flies down and stands in front of us. "Same as yesterday. But try to limit the chairs. Be ready for the mind links. You did amazing yesterday."

"Thank you. I will."

"Remember to stand in the middle of the path with your hand up if you need assistance. Mind link Nadine and tell her. Also, any vaults make sure to notify her right away." Everyone nods. "Alright. Go be pirates."

We all land on the beach by the village and go in quiet and slow. We separate fast.

I do about 4 stores and they're the same. No real money and nothing great.

The 5th shop is the bar. I pour myself a drink and mind link Dipak.

"Hi sweetheart."

-I'm not finding anything.-

-Yea, this isn't a good spot. You want to try the next village? I don't think anyone is getting anything.-

-Yea, let's do that.-

-Send an image of the boat to everyone.-

I disconnect and do it. Then I mind link Thora. -No one is getting anything. We're going back to the boat.-

-Yea, I saw the image. Hopefully the next 1 is better.-

I disconnect and connect to Elek.

-We're going back to the boat?-

-No one is really finding anything. We're going to try a different place.-

-Alright. Where are you at?-

-The bar.-

-Come on. Most people are already flying out.-

-Ok.- I disconnect it and connect to Johen.

-Woman, we're waiting for you. Bring your ass.-

-Sorry, wanted to make sure no one got left.-

-I love you.-

-I love you too.- I down my drink. Then I fly to the ship.

I do a quick head check.

Coral gets in front of us. "DON'T WASTE THE SACKS. DUMP EVERYTHING IN THIS 1 AND DIPAK CAN PUT IT SOMEWHERE."

Dipak looks at us. "We got everyone. The next village isn't far. It's over there. Everyone stay still. Kane's going to get us closer. It should take 15 minutes. Watch the stars or something." He gets the sack of money from Coral and goes below deck with Elek.

They come back after about 15 minutes. Now Elek really looks like he's going to puke. Coral goes to him. They walk to the front of the ship and sit down.

Dipak goes to Marcus and I put my hand to my ear right away. But I hide beside Thora so no one can tell.

"What did you say to him? He looks like death."

"The truth."

"That she ran into bricks?"

"Yea and everything she heard when she red roomed him. I told him why she's thinking the way she is. He's either going to deal with it now or he's not."

"You shouldn't have told him about the red room. I don't think she wanted him to know."

"He would have found out from someone here anyway. Better to get it out at once."

"That's true. And at least this way he got the truth. What do you think he's going to do?"

"Hopefully, think about it before he causes more drama."

"We're close. I don't see any other ships."

I move my hand down. I didn't want him to know. I shouldn't have told anyone. I guess Dipak didn't have much of a choice though. Someone would have said something. Even Coral knew about it.

"Same rules. Go be pirates."

We go in quiet and scatter. I go through a couple of shops and get some money. It's much better than the last village.

Thora starts pulling me and I run off with her. We run to a different side of the village. This is much nicer. "I'm going to mind link everyone and tell them about this side of the village."

"There are chairs on the porch if you want to sit down."

I sit on the porch. It's finally all the way dark. Full moon tonight. I get itchy. That's odd. Then the moon goes behind some clouds, and I'm fine again. That was weird.

I connect with Tye. -Do you know about the good part of the village?-

-Yep we're on our way. I'll let everyone know. We're finishing a vault. Omar is back at the ship already.-

-Thank you, Tye. I love you.-

-I love you too, babydoll.- I disconnect it.

I go back in and Thora is shoving boxes into the doorway. "That was fast."

"Tye knew where everyone was."

"What's wrong?"

"The moonlight was making me itchy."

"That's weird."

I help her with the boxes. I don't even know what we're sending. Everything I guess.

Elek shows up to help. He still looks like hell.

I give him a hug. "Are you ok?"

He kisses my head. "We will be."

"That's nice. Now push boxes."

I laugh and we go back to the boxes. Then I connect a link from Johen. "I have a vault hun. Can you tell Dipak for me?"

-Of course. Stand in the path and I'll send him.-

-Thank you baby.-

I smile and connect Dipak. -Johen has a vault. He's in the path-

-Thank you sweetheart.- I go back to the boxes.

"I've never seen your eyes glow blue before. What were you doing?"

"Mind link. I must be getting stronger with it."

"You are getting faster."

Thora nods at Elek. "And better. I can really feel it right away when you try to connect now. It's a lot stronger than when you started."

Elek smiles. "Everything takes practice. You're getting amazing with the images now too."

"I wish I could read minds. Like I'm supposed to be able to."

"You'll get it." Elek puts his arm around me and opens the door. I walk outside and immediately get itchy. I jump backwards and slam into him. "What's wrong?"

I itch my back as best as I can.

"She gets itchy when she's outside here."

He scratches my back. I about melt. I try to use him to itch better.

"Is that better?" He pulls something off me.

I relax. "What the hell was it?"

"I think it was a flea. They must have fleas outside the door, and it jumped on you. Run off the porch." He opens the door and I run out.

Nothing happens. I look up at the moon, and it's covered again.

Coral comes over as Thora cracks up laughing. "What happened?"

"She had fleas."

They laugh, and I give them a dirty look. Elek tries not to laugh and puts his arm back around me. "Let's check this shop." The girls roam off to different buildings laughing.

I empty the cash box while Elek looks around.

Then we try to leave and I jump back against him. I use him to itch like crazy.

"Alright stop. Let me see." He pulls a couple more off me. Then we go outside.

Dipak is standing in the path with Nik and Tye. They stare at us. I try to itch more. Elek itches my back again.

Dipak puts an eyebrow up. "What are you doing?"

"I've got flea's." I start sobbing.

Elek pulls a flea off me. "It has to be the wood they use or a plant they have. They keep jumping on her." He pulls another 1 off.

I finally relax. "I'm done here. I can't deal with fleas."

"They must be attracted to your soap scent babydoll. It'll be alright. Go back to the boat."

I fly out of there so fast.

I land on the deck. "I caught flea's, Kane."

He loses it. "Are they gone now? No, she said she caught flea's. I know. Mary said some of the oil scents will attract them. She says some that will repel them too. She bringing some of the repelling kind."

"Thank you."
