Tre comes to Mason's office with me and Thora. I sit on Tre's lap the whole time, and we get it planned out. Even Mason loves it.
Tre takes the plans. "I'll get them approved by Dipak, and we'll get the builders here."
Thora stretches. "I need a nap."
"I think I'm going to treasure hunt. Don't worry, I won't go in any caves again for the rest of my life. And I won't go in the water. I'm going to walk around with a bucket."
"Fair enough. That sounds safe. You have fun."
I land about where I remember digging for treasure last time. I must be right. There's an empty bucket. I pick it up and search. I dig up some coins. They are easy to find. They have dirt mounds on them.
I remember doing it as a wolf. It was fun digging with my paws. Then I sit where me and Elek talked. Suddenly I remember everything he said. Everything makes so much more sense now. He even said he loves me. Then I remember Dipak and telling him I wanted the test done. I wonder if he did it while I was out. The cave is different now. A lot of the mountain fell into it. Now there are rocks and boulders everywhere. I remember the gold piece I picked up. I wonder if it was booby trapped.
I hear something and Elek lands beside me. "What are you doing here?"
"Trying to remember."
"Do you?"
"I think so." I kiss him.
He smiles. "I do love you."
"I love you too."
He lays down on his back and pulls me on top of him. "You don't know how much I missed hearing that. And after everything else, you didn't remember."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry. We could have had the whole conversation again. But I wanted to give you a chance to remember on your own." I relax on his chest and he rubs my arm. "When that mountain came down, I didn't think you would have survived. It scared everyone so damn badly. The whole island shook. It took 2 hours before any of them even thought of checking the bonds. They said they still had a bond with you, and relief went over everybody. But none of us could get to you in any way at all. It was so damn scary."
"How did I come out?"
"It was bad. It took over 6 hours. It was dark. Dipak had a bunch of vampire guards here. Mason had his guards. They were both screaming at everyone. Tre couldn't function. They were throwing rock after rock clear out into the ocean. Then, all of a sudden, they had you. You came out so bloody. Your head was smashed. Your arm was smashed and broken. You had blood and dirt everywhere. I don't know how many bones were broken. It was bad. Even after seeing Dipak walk through with you, no one knew if you were going to make it. They were sure your neck was broken. They didn't know if your heart was smashed. A lot of you was under those rocks. He carried you to the medical area. Kane made it. He was screaming at as many people. He went with Dipak. Then Marcus grabbed Tre and dragged him. I went with Nik and Johen. No one would even. Tye came in last and dropped to his knees. He didn't even move. Then Thora and Coral were there somehow. Mason was there. We sat in silence until Cruor poked his head out and said, 'She's fine. Stop worrying.' Everyone collapsed at that point."
"I think it was a trap. I picked up a gold coin that was sitting there and the ground shook. Something hit me on the head."
"We need to tell Dipak that."
"Can we treasure hunt first?"
"Of course. But can I hold you like this a little more?"
I snuggle into him. He's so warm. "I do like this." I hold him as much as he's holding me.
Then I open my eyes and see the pretty sun. "s**t. Elek it's dinner." We fly to pack house steps and run in through the hole.
Everyone is already here.
"Sorry fell asleep again."
"Where? You're all dirty."
"Mountain. I got my memories back."
Dipak nods. "Good. I signed for the pack house rebuild. It's starting tomorrow. It's going to take 5 days. Do not break this 1. That goes for all of you."
Marcus signals for the food, and they bring it out.
"She remembered something about the cave."
"Oh yea." Dipak and Mason put their eyebrows up. I look back and forth, I don't know who to talk to. "I picked up a gold coin that was sitting in the back of it. The whole place shook and something hit my head. I didn't feel anything else. I was knocked out when it started." My boys relax. "But I thought maybe it was a trap of some kind."
They nod. "I can get my guards to clear it the rest of the way out."
Dipak shakes his head. "Vampires are faster."
"Wolves are stronger."
I smile. "Just use the brains. No matter if you try to use vampires or wolves, lives are going to be lost. That is dangerous. The brains are super strong. They can move those rocks. And if another cave in happens. We can replace them. We can't replace the living. Also, it's Mason's land. We have no say. We can offer to let him use brains, but we can't make him do anything."
Dipak rubs his eyes. "Woman, you are my mate. That cave in happened to you. I will get to the bottom of it."
I nod and glance at Mason. I'm kind of lost at this point.
"Using the brains is a good idea. I don't want to lose any of my people up there."
I smile. "Thank you."
"Yea, that's the best option. I'll bring in another 50 tomorrow." Dipak writes something down. "They can report to me and Mason anything they figure out."
I am so confused. Who is in charge here?
Thora smiles. "Glad that's settled. It's just Dipak doesn't give any leeway when it comes to you. He gets a little bossy."
Kodan smirks. "Mason gets a little bossy too. Thankfully, they had their own people to yell at when they were getting you out of the cave."
Tye cracks up laughing. "Could you imagine those 2 telling each other what to do?" Everyone starts laughing.
Then Marcus looks at Mason. "So are you coming with us?"
My eyes shoot to Marcus. No one said anything about that to me. What the hell?
Thora nods. "You might as well. Your house is being demolished tomorrow. And we'll be back in 6 or so days. We're going to see the Mayans and check on a treasure. Your house will be done when we get back."
Kodan nods. "Everything is fine here, and you don't have any appointments for a week. I can keep us going. Go check out the Mayan's."
Another one of his people says, "Or stay here and be homeless."
I laugh and everyone looks at me. "I'm sorry. We are horrible. They are so nice to us. We come in, put doors all over everywhere, break their mountain. Change 2 of their people into vampires. I pretty much invite myself to move into his house. Then, we break that too. I guess at least we haven't blown anything up yet."
Tre sits back. "Well..."
"Ugh." I rub my eyes.
Dipak looks at Mason. "They try to behave and not destroy stuff. They really do. The doors everywhere are for our convenience. They can be taken down at any time. They don't need anything special to bring them down. Just knock them down. We are fixing the house. And I am taking no credit for breaking the mountain. And I don't know what blew up, nobody tell me."
Tye nods. "It's better that way."
Johen stares at the ceiling. Tre nods. Mason watches the 3 of them.
Dipak stares at them. "We're leaving early. Be on the boat for breakfast. Why don't you 3 sleep there?"
Savannah starts crying. "It's been so long since I've had young people to chase after and messes to clean up. I'm going to miss you so much." She runs over and gives me a hug. "I'm going to miss your little paw prints everywhere. And the water you fling all over."
"I'm sorry. I didn't know I did that."
"I know. I loved it." She hugs me again. "You make everyone happier. A few broken houses or blown up things doesn't hurt anyone. It keeps us on our toes."
I smile and hug her back. "You should come too."
"No, I'm not getting on a boat. I'll see you when you get back." She runs into the kitchen.
Thora is laughing so hard she's crying. "She did not like that idea."
Kodan walks over to me. He gives me a hug too. "Thank you for saving Sasha. I have never felt fear like that. You dealt with it so fast. You're an amazing Luna. Or Queen. I don't know. You be whatever you want. Any group you end up leading is lucky to have you."
I smile and hug him again. "Thank you."
Some man yells from outside. "ALPHA. Sorry alpha. There's no door... or wall..."
"Yes, what do you need?"
"The guard tower on the north side is gone. We were making our rounds, and it's everywhere. We have no idea what happened to it."
Mason and Dipak look at Tre, Tye, and Johen. They look everywhere but at either one of them.
"I'll add on another 25 brains to replace the guard tower on the north side." Dipak writes it down.
"Thank you for informing me, Thorin. It will be rebuilt."
"You're welcome sir."
I fall in my seat and try not to laugh.
"So are you..." Thora cracks up laughing so hard. "How the hell did you blow up a guard tower?"
Tre looks at her. "We were throwing orbs at each other and the guard tower got in the middle."
Marcus chokes on his drink. "Do not throw orbs at each other. That is dangerous."
Johen crosses his arms. "Well, Tye was being an ass. He kept blowing up the good stuff."
Dipak rubs his eyes. "Just go to the boat."
They leave. All pouty and blaming each other.
Elek smiles. "I'm going back too. I'll help drive at night this time around, so Tye doesn't have to."
Dipak nods. "I do appreciate that. We may actually get to where we're going."
Then Nik stands up. "I'm going back too. I want to finish the resort stuff then sleep in tomorrow."
Marcus jumps up. "Yea me too. I do not want to get up early. I haven't got up early this whole damn vacation. Don't want to start now. You coming with us?"
Mason looks at Kodan.
"Just go. It's a few days, the house is getting rebuilt. Everything will be fine. And we'll have brains if we need anything. They can contact you. It'll do you good to get out. You haven't done that in... well, forever."
Mason nods. "Yea."
"Good. Now, Nadine and I are going to go get drunk and kiss werewolves. You can all bite my ass if you think you're going to stop us. And we have doors everywhere we can run through."
Dipak shakes his head. "She's not ready and you know that. She's still recovering. You'll have to try kissing werewolves on our way back."
She crosses her arms. "YOU SUCK."
Kodan cracks up laughing. He's staring at Mason. I don't know what he said.
Thora and Dipak are having some kind of stare-down.
"I'm going to bed." I go to the guest room.
