62. Crimson Moon

Decker and I run out.

Tye and Johen come running up. Tye see's Decker and turns into his wolf. He gets in the pounce position.

Decker jumps from the steps and turns to a wolf in midair. He lands on Tye and they go tumbling. Tye pretends to be hurt. Then Johen turns into a wolf and they start play fighting.

I don't want to shred my dress. I don't know how many more I have.

"There she is." I hear someone whisper. The people walking by keep looking at us.

"Nadine." Mason winks. "You can shift in here. Come here, I'll show you."

I follow him and Dipak stands in the door and watches. He leads me to a room beside the steps. "There's nothing in here but some storage boxes. You can run in and out and shift as you please. Leave an outfit in there, so you're not constantly looking for clothes."

"Thank you." I give him a hug then run in and shut the door.

I take my clothes off and shift into my wolf. Then I can't open the door. I scratch at it and wine.

Mason opens it. "I'll show you." Dipak follows us in the room. "Step on this with your paw." It looks like a little pedal hooked to the bottom of the door.

I step on it and the door opens.

Dipak nods. "We need to replicate that before we leave. And what the hell is going on with your hair?"

I try to look at myself but can't see. I spin in a circle and fall on my ass.

Dipak runs his hand down my back. "Woman, the soap dried in it. Did you and Thora get side tracked?"

I nod.

"You are going to have to take another bath. You look like you've caught some sort of weird hair disease."

I try to run for it and Dipak blocks the door.

Mason cracks up laughing. "SAVANNAH."

"Yes sir. Oh my. What is this? What happened? Just what?"

"She was getting a bath last night and stopped in the middle. Can you fix it please?"

"Yes. Come with me Nadine." I let out a big sigh. "It won't take too long. I've gotten rather good at this."

I follow her out without complaining. I hope she is fast.

What happens next is confusing as hell. I walk into a room and get hit with water from everywhere. Then I get soaped. After that, rinsed. Then I get some kind of oil on my hair. Then air comes in from everywhere. Next, she brushes me and adds a little more oil.

Then she shows me a big mirror. I finally see myself. I look so pretty. I am pure white. My hair is amazing.

"First time seeing yourself?"

I nod.

"You are a very pretty wolf. Why don't you go catch up with them at the medical area now?"

I run for it. That only took about 15 minutes. It was super fast and I'm dry.

I go slowly and carefully down the steps. There are about 8 going in the pack house. I don't want to fall with everyone staring at me. I wish they would stop staring though.

Savannah comes out behind me. "I realized you don't know where the hospital is. I'll walk you over. And I grabbed a bag with an outfit for you if you need to change over there."

I nod and look at the people staring at me.

"Don't worry about them. You're new here. We don't get many new people, being out here on this island and everything."

I relax. That makes me feel better.

I follow her to the hospital.

Dipak smiles. "That is much better. Thank you, Savannah."

"My pleasure sir."

Ronion nods. "She is all white. I don't see anything else on her. No marks or symbols or anything."

Marcus pets my ears. "He is not awake yet, angel. Omar ended up dosing him for a day to be safe. So he won't wake up until later. But everything is going as expected. The blood is absorbing fine. You can go play."

My tail goes crazy. I want to find Tye. I connect the mind link to him.

"WOMAN." Dipak points at Mason.

His eyes are glossy. "Your guard is at the front door."

-What do you need, babydoll?-

-Where are you?-

-Still in the village. Come outside.-

-K.- I cut the mind link off.

"Her eyes are bright blue when she mind links."

Ronion nods. "It'll probably lighten up over time and go more glossy like normal. She's mastering it, so everything is exaggerated."

Dipak nods. "Go play. It's fine. Keep your guard with you."

I tear out of there so fast.

"Oh my. She is going to be hard to keep up with."

"You might as well not even try, Savannah."

I spot the boys right away. There are 4 wolves Deckers size. They keep jumping on Tye and Johen. My boys keep pretending to be hurt. It's hilarious to watch.

I run over to them and wiggle. We have 4 guards. He must have put 1 on each of us. The little wolves don't jump on me. They must know I'm a girl.

Tye pounces at me and I jump so high.

Then I hear people laugh. I glance around and people are watching us again.

Tye snorts and nudges me. Me, Johen, and Decker follow him out of the village with our 4 guards.

We run around chasing stuff when Decker isn't tackling someone.

One of the guards yells, "Hey. You want to swim and see a waterfall?"

I jump up and down.

The boys jump off a big rock into the lake. I step in slow. We swim for a bit. It's fun as a wolf. Then I see a monkey. I bark so loudly. Then I jump out. My tail is going crazy, flinging water everywhere. The guards watch me with their eyebrows up.

I get down into the pounce again. My butt is wiggling, my tail is shaking so much. I sneak up on it and I hear the guards chuckling.

Then I pounce. The monkey jumps on my back.

"AAAAHHHH!" I scream so loud it comes out like a scream. I bolt at the guards as fast I can. They are all dying laughing, but 1 picks it up off me.

"It's ok. It's a monkey. They won't hurt you."

I shake. The boys are lying by the lake coughing and hacking.

One of the guards' eyes are glazed over, and he is laughing his ass off. "A monkey jumped on her. She screamed and ran to us... No, she's fine now. It just scared her." Then his eyes go back to normal. "You're fine. You jumped at him first. He was trying to play with you."

Tye licks my face. Then the other 2 come over and we walk again.

We find the biggest of big mud holes. Decker dives in. Then he gets stuck. Tye and Johen go in to get him out. Then they fall. I wiggle and dive in. Mud war. I get all muddy and then shake beside them. Then we all do it.

A guard gets too close and gets covered in mud. Then my foot gets stuck and I make a scream noise again. 2 guards come over to pull me out. They both slip and fall. Then the boys pounce on them.

The last guard comes over. "It's time for lunch."

A shadow goes over us. I see 2 dragons. I bark and wiggle my way out of the mud hole. It's Tre and Elek. Elek drops low and the boys shake. They cover him. I start coughing. He goes higher and tries to shake the mud off his wings. Then the guards get the boys out and we go back to the village. Tre and Elek fly above us.

We get to the pack house and Mason, Kodan, Marcus, Dipak, and Ronion are standing on the front stops.

Mason shakes his head. "No closer."

"I just gave you a bath." Savannah crosses her arms. I lay on my belly and cover my face with my paw.

Elek lands beside us still trying to get the mud off his wings.

Tre lands up on the steps and fixes his shirt. "Good afternoon."

Mason nods. "Good afternoon. You all need to go over there and get cleaned off. They will spray you down."

One of the guards sits in the middle of the path. "I'm going to need a nap."

"I'm going to go take a bath." They all leave.

"Go on." Mason points.

I get another bath. It's a whole building made for giving baths like I had earlier. It's so fast and easy. I come out pretty 15 minutes later. The boys are standing around on the steps of the pack house. I see a butterfly. I pounce into a weed patch. Then I pounce out and shake off. I'm still clean. Got lucky on that 1. I don't see any mud dripping.

I go to the pack house and Dipak's eye's get so big.

I jump and stare at him. Him and Mason walk towards me.

What the hell? Then I see it. On my hip. I don't know what it is, but it has a million legs, and it's about 8 inches long. I freeze for a second. It moves.

"AAAHHHHH!" I jump straight up in the air.

Dipak, Marcus, and Tre drop into wolves. Tye and Johen are already wolves.

Mason flicks it off me. "It's gone."

I sit between his legs. Every muscle in my body is shaking. I sit there whimpering.

He pets my ears. "It's ok. You're ok. It's a bug. We have big bugs here like butterflies." I shake my head and shake some more. He keeps rubbing my ears, then he see's the wolves standing around the shredded clothes. "I will show you how to make that not happen every time she cries for help. It's actually a pain in the ass, I know. Let's get you changed in the packhouse."

Nikolas comes flying in and almost lands.

"AAAHHHH!" Johen's running back on 3 feet. He's holding 1 foot in the air.

Nikolas falls out of the sky as a wolf. He lands on his ass and yelps.

"Come here." Savannah runs out. "This 1 got stung. I'll put some cream on that. Come with me. It'll be ok. I know it hurts."

I shake harder.

"It will be ok. He got stung by a bee. Do you have bees where you are?"

I nod.

"That's all it was. Everything is fine."

"Aww look." Someone is pointing at me.

Mason sighs. "Come on. Let's get you in."

I try to walk and nearly knock us both down.

He steps to the side and picks me up with an arm under my chest and belly. He must be strong. I'm a big wolf. He carries me up the steps and into the house. "Sorry, I don't see any other way to do this."

The boys follow us in.

Mason carries me into my changing room and puts me on my feet. Then he shakes out my clothes and looks around. "No bugs in here. Change and come on out." He shuts the door behind him.

I shift to human and do a little wiggle. Then I jump up and down and put my clothes back on.
