71. Looking At You

Tre takes me to the reef for an hour. We walk all over it looking at everything some more. I hold his hand and snuggle him the whole time. When we get out, we make love right on the beach. He makes me feel so good.

Then we cuddle before we get back in and rinse everything and our swimsuits off.

When we get back to the village, he kisses my cheek and goes to help Dipak with the wolf wash thing.

Then Tye's feather lights up.

"Babydoll, we are finding hidden treasure on the side of the mountain over here. You want to come look too?"

"YES." I jump up and down.

"Come as a werewolf. It helps with the scent and the footing really."

"OK."

I tear ass into the pack house. I am flinging and dripping water everywhere. I need to change in my little room with the boxes though. I fling the front door open and run as fast as I can into my little room. I slam the door behind me, then I take the dress and swimsuit off fast and change to my wolf. I hit the paw button and run back out towards the door.

"STOP."

I slam on the brakes, but the floor is wet now because of me, so I crash into the side table. I hop up on all 4 feet and look at Mason. I'm wired now.

His eyes are so big.

I stare at him. Then something hits my butt hard.

I yipe so loudly and run right to him whimpering. I hide between his legs and look up at him with sad eyes.

"You're ok. The candle thing fell on you because you hit the table." He rubs my ears. "Do you remember me telling you I need to be in here for a few hours this afternoon?"

I nod.

He squats down. "I need you to not be running in and out like that. If you need to come in, will you be quieter please?"

I nod and lick his face.

He chuckles. "I'll be in my office if you need anything. Remember quiet and slow in here for now." He pats my butt. "Go play."

I go for the door and there are 4 strange men standing there. Oops.

"Go ahead. You're ok. Walk."

Savannah smiles. I walk as slowly as I can out the door, then run for it.

"AAAHHHH!" I hold up my paw.

"Sweetie, did you step on a bee?" I hold up my paw for Savannah to see. "I'll get some cream. I got her Alpha. It's fine."

I hear 1 of the men comment on my color. Another says something about my age and they chuckle.

Savannah comes out after a minute and puts some cream on my paw. "There you go. It'll be fine in a minute. You can walk on it now."

I put it down and take a couple steps. It does seem ok. I bounce, then run for the mountain. I swing by the wash first. No one here except Dipak and Tre.

I turn human and stand there naked. "Tye said they are finding treasure on the other side of the mountain. I wanted to tell you before I go over there."

"Thank you, sweetheart. On our way now."

Tre smiles. "I'll make a door." He makes the door as I shift back to the wolf. We step out on the beach.

Tye barks from halfway up the damn mountain. I turn into a dragon and fly up with the boys.

Tye digs in a bare spot, and sure enough, gold coins appear. I glance around and there are a lot of bare spots.

Nik gives me a bucket. "Put anything you find in here, babygirl. You can search wherever you want."

I bounce up and down, then I take my bucket and dig at bare spots. I dig so much. I get about half a bucket of gold coins. Then I get a gold bar and it's heavy. I can't hardly figure out how to pick it up. I bark at it.

Then Marcus takes it. "Thank you, angel." He pets my ears and I wiggle. I love him.

The boys must be doing well with this. Dipak has a door conjured up here and everything. Not only that, but Gunner and Kane are here now too.

I get a mind link.

"What are you doing?" It's Elek.

-Side of the mountain digging treasure up.-

-Really?-

-Yep. Side that the pirates were on last night.-

-I'll come over there in a minute.-

-The door is still on the beach. Can you bring me some clothes? I've been searching as a wolf for 2 hours. I'd like to be human again.-

-Of course. I'll have Thora grab me an outfit for you before I leave the boat.-

-Thank you.-

-My pleasure. I'll be there in a minute.-

I cut the mind link off.

I go back to digging and 5 minutes later he lands beside me. He turns human and gets a bag out of his shirt. It's got my clothes in it. I rub on him, then he gives me the bag. I run up behind some trees and change. Then I sit by him.

"Thank you so much. I've been digging for hours. I'm so bored with it." I show him my bucket.

"You did good."

"I thought so too. For a wolf, you know. It is easier to dig with paws."

"I bet. Let's go up a little higher, and we can sit and talk a bit."

"Ok."

We sit by some trees higher up than everyone.

He smiles at me. "I'm sorry for being so stupid."

I look at him and laugh. "You're not stupid."

"Yea, I have been stupid about a lot of things. I really don't know how to fix all the issues between us, but I'm going to start at the beginning. Maybe at least you can understand some of it."

I smile at him. "The beginning is a good spot."

"Well, not the very beginning. I'll start when I turned 400."

"Ok."

"I was so excited to be able to find my mate. And like everyone else that's 400, I was determined to wait for my mate to do anything physical with a woman." I nod. Making sense so far. "Well, I mean, I did. But Elroy got taken." I give him a weird look. "I was around 490. I had waited that long. And then he was taken. That's all that mattered. I wanted to find my little brother. I never even looked at a female. That's not what mattered. And then I saw you at that ball. You caught every bit of my attention. You are amazing. I have never seen anyone like you. I knew I wanted you, but my brother is all I had looked for, for so long. I didn't even know what to do with a girl. Then out of the blue you gave me my brother back. I was so lost. I had to take care of my brother though. But all I thought about was you. I loved seeing you. I still do. I love kissing you. It's all I want. To touch you and feel your skin. To kiss you. Then that day I kissed you and you broke your nose."

"I'm sorry."

He puts his hand up. "Don't be sorry. I really thought they did that to you for kissing me. So at that point, I knew I couldn't kiss you anymore because they would hurt you. I couldn't let them do that, no matter what. So, I started kissing Elkie, so they wouldn't think I liked you. I figured if it keeps you safe, and I can still see you sometimes, then it's worth it. Then the date I took to the arena. That was funny though. I didn't know her name. I thought it would keep them from looking at me, looking at you. I wanted to keep you safe. And I know that everything just sounds so stupid now. But that's what happened and here I am. I love you."

I stare at him for a second. Then I dive on him and kiss him. "I love you too."

He falls onto his back and I lay on his chest. I can't stop kissing him.

"HEY ENOUGH." Well, that did it.

I give Dipak a dirty look.

"Don't care. Get down here."

I stomp my feet down to Dipak, then cross my arms.

Elek comes down behind me. "Sorry. I'm not sorry though. I don't..." He shakes his head.

Dipak laughs. "You 2 need to be tested?"

"Yea."

"Well, I asked you before and you said no. Now, you are going to have to wait. I can not summon the heard to the middle of the ocean."

I stomp my foot. "I'LL JUST SEARCH FOR TREASURE THEN."

"OK. YOU DO THAT WOMAN." Then he talks to Elek.

He's not throwing him off the mountain or anything. That's nice. They're talking.

I walk into a cave on the side of the mountain. I walk back and see something shiny. I pick up a gold coin and smile. I can even find them as a human.

Then the ground shakes and suddenly everything is pitch black. "AAAAHHHHHH!"

I feel something slam into my head and that's it.
