48. Teenage Drama

Nikolas smiles. "You're not awake yet."

Finally, Coral made him stop kissing people in front of me to make me feel better. He didn't do it because he liked me. And those things he said. He was pretending because he thought that's what he was supposed to do. I feel stupid. He's not going to try and kiss me again. He never wanted to in the first place."

Dipak puts an eyebrow up.

Thora sits beside me. "What are we talking about?"

"Elek doesn't like me."

"I'm pretty sure he does."

"No. He was doing what everyone told him too. Mostly Coral. And he never wanted anything to do with me specifically. He likes girls. It makes sense."

"No, think about it."

Tye and Elek walk in. "What are you 2 yelling about?"

"NOTHING TYE. MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS." Thora throws a plate at him and they dodge it. It smashes on the wall behind them.

"Ok sorry." They sit with us.

Dipak looks around. "So anything new going on?"

Thora rubs her eyes. "Remember how dense she was with Marcus? Well, she's doubling down on it now."

"I AM NOT DENSE."

"HOW CAN YOU SAY HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU?"

"BECAUSE HE DOESN'T."

I slam myself back and cross my arms. I give everyone a dirty look.

"Anything else going on?"

Tye nods. "I keep thinking about it. I think we pirated entirely too many chairs."

"I sent about 25 to your office. Then 20 to Tre's office. Then everyone on 6 got 1. Then a bunch to the morning room. Then 20 to Tye's resort. And then I sent all the kings I know 1. I sent 1 to Victor too."

"I sent 50 into 1 of the sitting rooms. Then, 10 into my office. 30 to the resort. 25 to your office for the conference table."

Everyone laughs.

"I bet Frode is wondering why we sent so many chairs."

"More like wondering what the hell to do with them." Marcus rubs his eyes.

Dipak nods. "Thora, can you connect to Frode, so I can talk to him for a minute please?"

"Sure." She connects her feather and grabs Dipaks arm.

"I sent a bunch of dishes to the morning room. And Ana has like 500 new cups now."

"The woman said something about making a big empty building with a lot of doors for us to send stuff to. It would make sense. Right now, all we do is send s**t all over the castle. Like Tre's office is currently housing 20 chairs."

"Why did you send 20 chairs to my office, baby?"

"I wanted them for my conference table, but I don't have a door. But now that I think about it, they might be too big for the conference table in our offices. Dipak's office will be fine."

"Ok."

"My office is full of candy."

"And 3 stuffed bear chairs for kids. I sent 1 for Ana and 2 for you to draw inspiration from. Maybe you figure out how to make a shark or something for the kids' clubs."

"That sounds fun. And all that kid stuff. Where did we send that? That's for the kids' clubs too."

Tye looks up. "Sitting room. Not the one with the chairs in it."

"I think I'm going to need a storage room for the kids' club stuff."

Dipak signals for food. Everyone is here now but Kane. He's probably driving again.

After I eat, I go to the deck and snuggle Dipak. "Maybe I should put on a bikini and tease you."

"Woman, I will bend you over that bench and do you right now."

"I figured."

"I'll tease you later. I'm going to go see what everyone else is doing. Do you need anything for now?"

"No I'm good. Thank you sweetheart."

I go in a door because I forget what the hell's in the room.

Nikolas is sitting at a desk.

"I forgot what was in here."

"3 desks. I'm working on the China resort if you want to see the changes I've made. I actually have an idea I wanted to ask you about."

"Ok."

I spend 20 minutes looking at his layouts.

"What was your idea?"

"Do you like this so far? Would you change any of it?"

"It's perfect. The rooms. The waterpark. The shops. The landscaping. Even the stable. It's perfect. It's so much better than what I had."

"It is what you had. I drew it with more detail. You had the little kids waterpark s***h play area here. I gave it a theme and drew out something neat. It's still there. And those little buildings on the water connected by bridges. I loved that idea. But most everything follows your layout. The rooms I kept the same. I love the separate bedroom idea."

"I did too. It seems more private that way."

He moves the paper and puts another 1 on the desk. "This is the 2nd level. With the China resort, the rooms face both ways and there are a lot of them. I wanted to give you a 2nd floor wing for the spa, but it's way too big. I mean, I'm sure people will use the spa in China. But I surely wouldn't need 1 as big as the island."

"Yea, that would be big for China."

"So here's what I was thinking. This is the spa wing. I was thinking 6 adult rooms on the end. But put them all in spa colors. The blankets and everything. I could charge more for them. Call them special spa suites. Those would include all access to the spa the whole time they stay. I could put a back door here to enter into the spa for those rooms. But it would take some of the area out for the spa. Put it at more of a realistic size."

"I love it. I could put my spa towels in it. Make everything all relaxing and smelling good. I love the idea. I'll come up with some more ideas for the rooms."

"Then this area would be the spa. It's basically the same as Tye's just smaller. Then the outdoor area faces the waterpark instead. Then over here. Hair in China is so unique. I think you should do more hair. I think the girls will want to try some of the styles."

"I can do more with hair there. Are you going to put the packages shop in?"

"I'm putting that on the first floor. I want people to see that."

"Did you end up using the black with red eyes?"

"Yea. I didn't pick as many swimsuits or colors as Tye. But I wanted a few. The white is a panda bear."

"I bet that's adorable. The swimsuits aren't white though, right?"

"No. They are mostly black with white trim. Then the panda logo on them."

"Perfect. Are you ready to build now or still adjusting?"

He puts his arms around me and hugs. "It's already started. I was waiting for the ok for the spa before they started. But they are doing the pool and started building the inn already."

I lean against him and relax. "Why do you always leave me alone to sleep?"

"Yesterday... I wanted to lie down with you. But didn't know if it would be weird with you waking up with me. And I didn't want to make you feel weird being in bed with me. I know we're sorting stuff out. I would have loved to have some cuddles. But I don't want to force that or take them when you're asleep. That's not fair. I'll wait until you're ready."

"I thought you didn't want to be there."

He kisses my head. "That's the only place I wanted to be. But I was happy knowing you were safe and cuddled up in my bed. That and my bed smells like you now. That's amazing."

I smirk. "I know what you do when you're alone and thinking about me. Maybe I shouldn't have left my scent all over your bed."

"They're not here."
