"Hum?" Edward pretended not to understand Selena's question. "What do you mean?"
Selena rolled her eyes. She then tilted her body, using one hand to support her head.
"Don't pretend. You know what I mean," Selena said. "Have you met your true mate?"
Edward shook his head. "Nope," Edward replied. "I think you are my true mate. I'm always tempted by you." Edward immediately embraced Selena and tried to bite her.
"No! Edward! Edward!" Selena was amused by Edward's behavior. She knew that Edward was changing the subject. She and Edward knew that they were not mates. There was no sign of it. And that always made Selena uneasy.
