"Jasper, you should go back. I felt something wrong with Jerry. I'm afraid that something might happen to him." Allen said softly. The two sat at the stoll next on the patient's bed. "Check on Jerry. I can stay here alone."
"He is a grown man, what could be possibly be happen to him?" Jasper said as he leaned his back against the wall, allowing his arms beneath his head. "I won't leave even if you kill me. I want to see her waking up with my own eyes and I leave with ease."
"Don't you trust me? I will call you right away when she wake up."
Jasper shook his head, even lazy to give him a look. "Trust is not the problem here. I said personally, so I must be here. Allen, don't force me to leave. I must be here until she wakes up."
Silence occurred at Allen for a few seconds as he sighed, eyes running back on Geneva's pale face. "I'm just worried about his safety."
"Why did you think so?"
"Do you remember what Uncle had said before he gone to bring Geneva in this hospital?"
With a frown on his forehead, Jasper tried to reminisce the incident in the Bluebird Garden and he nodded. "I remember. He said the problem is not settled yet. He is going to deal a certain someone later. What? Do you think he is referring Jerry or referring to myself? After all, I'm the one who punched him not Jerry."
"Psst, lower your voice. You're disturbing her rest."
"Your uncle is the type who bear grudges and does not spare anyone who offends him, I am pretty sure that he is thinking of dealing with me right now. As for Jerry, I can't think of a reason that he did to provoke that devil. He even ignored everyone. So, how did he offend him?"
"There is something that you don't know." Allen shook his head. "Jerry and Geneva has known each other before. And their relationship is not that simple."
"What did you say?" Jasper sat up instantly. "They have that such relationship?"
"Em."
"Then why did you pretend that you know nothing between them? You even asked if how did they know each other. In the end, you knew already. Are you playing dumb here?... Forget it… He is probably doesn't want to talk to her because he still have feelings for her. He must be sad."
"I just don't want him to feel awkward. How about you?"
Jasper's eyes narrowed. "What about me?"
"You're not sad?"
"Should I feel sad? What for?"
"You and Jerry likes her. Will this ruin our friendship?"
Jasper chuckled softly. He covered his mouth and laughed his heart out. "Allen, what are you thinking about? We both like her but that doesn't mean we will hurt each other because of her. We can just compete fairly for her, can't we?" Jasper drew closer and teased Allen. "What? Will you destroy our friendship because of your feelings for her?"
Allen rose on his feet abruptly, showing his irritation on his face. "What are you talking about?"
"Hahaha, look at you." Jasper's sight accidentally noticed the slight movement of the woman's eyelids. He slowly leaned closer with his eyes popping wide. Allen was about to nag further when he suddenly stopped him. "Psssh, Quiet."
"What's wrong?" Allen followed Jasper's line of sight and was stunned to see the movements of the woman's eyes. Extreme joy immediately filled his eyes. "Jasper, did you see what I see? Geneva's eyes are moving. She is waking up!"
"I saw it. Pssh, don't be noisy."
Jasper and Allen watched the woman's every small movement. From moving with her eyes then to her hands, they saw it all until the woman woke up completely.
"You're finally awake!" Allen and Jasper exclaimed joyfully. "This is great."
"Where am I?" Geneva asked in a very weak tone. Even breathing was clearly hard for her. She was terribly emotionally unstable.
"You're in the hospital right now." Allen said. "How are you feeling? Is there somewhere you feel uncomfortable? Tell us."
"What happened to me?"
"You fainted and fell ill." Allen answered and then Jasper nodded as she gave them both a look.
Geneva took a deep breath and gave them a grateful smile. "Thank you for you guys. Thanks for bringing me here. Actually, you should not go into such trouble. A simple rest at home is fine."
"Geneva, actually, it's not us who—"
Allen's next words were cut when Jasper grabbed the man's arm and hauled him in a corner. Not really far from the bed. They only stepped a half meter away and whispered at each other.
"What are you doing?" Allen asked.
"I should be the one who asked you that?" Jasper said, slightly looking annoyed. "What do you think you are doing?"
"I—"
"You want to tell her that the one who sent her to the hospital is the man who she hated the most? Allen, are you stupid? Did you forget what the doctors had told us? Hey, Do you really want her to recover or not?"
"Of course I want her to recover."
"Then don't stimulate her! Don't say something stupid."
"Alright. I'm sorry. I just don't want to tell her a lie so my tongue almost slipped."
"Okay fine."
"Allen, Jasper, what are you doing?" Geneva asked softly as she saw the two men talking secretly, making the pair flinch in surprise.
"Nothing. We do nothing, right Allen?" Jasper secretly poked Allen's side and thus the latter also agreed, nodding with a stiff smile on his lips.
"You're acting suspicious. You must be up to no good." Geneva pouted. "I'm hungry. Can someone buy some fruits? I want to eat oranges."
"Fine. Fine. I will buy that for you. Give me a second." Jasper offered right away. He was about to leave when Allen pulled his clothes from his back.
"Hep, hep, hep, why must it be you?" Allen said sternly. "I should be the one to buy that. You stay here. I'll go."
"Okay." Jasper quickly agreed. "I was more happy than obliged."
"You—" Allen paused and lowered his voice. "Don't ever have any idea about her. She is not yet ready for any relationship. Don't pressure her."
"I know. I know. Go. Go." Jasper pushed Allen out of the room. But before they could pull the door open, someone pushed it open for them from outside.
The men rooted on their feet and watched the person entering. They even thought of kicking the newcomer out of the room but they stopped when they found out it was not Chen Lei, the big devil.
"Arthur, so it's you again." Allen said. Him and Jasper heaved a sigh of relief.
Knitting his brows, Arthur took several seconds eyeing the two men. "What are you trying to do?"
"Nothing." The duo denied the bad thoughts in their mind in unison.
The word 'I don't believe you' printed on his face. "You thought I was him and were planning to kick me out of the room, right? Allen, you are getting bolder, huh. Are you sure you can kick him?"
"Allen, who is there?" Geneva's weak voice was heard in the room and the three returned their attention to the patient on the bed.
"She is awake?" Arthur asked. Without waiting for their response, he sauntered towards the bed with a basket of fruits in his hands. Among the fruits were oranges. "You're finally awake."
"It's you, Arthur. What are you doing here?" Geneva said? She was neither angry nor cold. Her eyes and expressions were totally void of emotions.
Allen and Jasper stood behind him. They were occasionally exchanging words with each other about Arthur's appearance in the room. Jasper was annoyed thinking that Chen Lei was just nearby since his personal secretary was around.
"I'm here to see you waking up." Arthur simply said. "Glad that you woke up. How are you feeling now?"
"I'm good. I'm good as long he doesn't appear in front of me."
Arthur took several seconds before he found his words again. To simply put, it took him a million guts to speak in front of the woman. "Rest assured. He is not with me. Just like what I said a while ago. I'm only here to know if you are fine. Not to pressure you."
Geneva stared at the man for a few seconds. "He asked you to stay and gather information about me, right?"
Arthur refused to answer.
"It seems like I was right." Geneva laughed weakly. She brought her hand on her chest and rubbed it, breathing became difficult for her.
The three men saw her discomfort and quickly rushed to her, worried.
Arthur, "Geneva, are you fine?"
Allen, "Are you uncomfortable somewhere? You look like you are having difficulty breathing."
Jasper, "I'm going to call for the doctor."
"Don't bother." Geneva's words froze the men to do or say anything further. "I'm fine."
"This must be this guy's fault. Why did you still show up here? You clearly know that you are not welcome here. You're only infuriating here. Look at what you did." Jasper said continuously.
"Hey, don't say something like that." Allen reprimanded him. "He has nothing to do with it."
Arthur took a deep breath. "He is my boss. It's inevitable that his actions reflect on me. I don't mind it."
"Look at you." Allen slapped Jasper's arm. "You are so talkative."
