"Where are you?" The man on the other end of the phone immediately exclaimed. There's a hint of anger in his voice but he couldn't actually shout at her. "You promise to pick me up at the airport. I have been waiting for you for almost an hour. Do you want to turn me into a post? You—"
"Take a break, alright?" Geneva said coldly. "You are like a girl. c*****g here and there."
"Damn you woman, if I was you, you would probably chop my head off! What's happening to you?"
"Don't ask." Geneva sighed. She stretched her arm out for a taxi. "I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
"Alright. I will believe you this time. But make sure to be on time.— wait? Did you fight with your ex again?"
A taxi pulled over in front of Geneva. She opened the door and hopped in while talking to the phone. "How did you know?— To the airport uncle."
The man broke into laughter. "Who's miserable man did you dump this time?"
"I did not."
"What do you mean?"
Geneva looked outside the window. She couldn't help but sigh as an embarrassing encounter replayed in her head. "I didn't dump anyone this time."
"Who would believe you?"
"Then you tell and let me believe you." Geneva covered her mouth and deliberately lowered her voice so that the driver was unable to hear her. "It's different this time."
"Since when did the case of your exes become similar? Each of them has a different story, remember?"
Geneva feigned a cough and laughed. "You really know me, Allen."
In the airport, a young handsome man wearing a floral shirt and white pants stood in front of the entrance. He was leisurely kicking his shoe on the ground as one of his hands spun his luggage.
He wore huge black spectacles above his pointed small nose and he looked so gorgeous with a youthful version of a pretty mature man. He was tall and slender, yet not looking like a man without some flesh under his garments.
He was smiling at the moment, then he checked the time on his expensive watch. "You only have 5 minutes left. Be here before the time's up or else you have to treat me with food for a year."
"I can do that. I have a job now. I can order food for you every meal."
"No!" Allen yelled, making other passers-by look over his direction. He awkwardly smiled at them and turned away while covering his mouth. "Do you have a little bit of conscience in you? How can you be so cruel? I don't want take-out food!"
"Sorry, you know I don't have such virtue."
"Geneva, you–"
"Wait! I have to hang up!"
"Hey, hey, hello? Hello? Don't hang up!" Allen hit his palm as no one was talking on the phone anymore. His handsome face contorted in annoyance and it looked so scarlet red. Like a teenager blushing shyly in front of his crush. "Damn this woman, how dare she hang up on me?"
Back on the highway. Geneva ordered the car to stop. It was not the right place to unload passengers so the driver didn't listen.
"Uncle, please stop the car! Stop the car!" Geneva slapped the backrest of the driver's seat. "Hurry stop the car!"
The driver looked at her through the head mirror and then outside the car. "Miss, I can't stop here. We can't violate the traffic rules. Please wait a little longer."
Geneva was looking anxious. She kept on looking back as she repeatedly hit the driver's seat, urging him. "I told you to stop the car! Do you hear me?"
The driver's countenance changed. His courteous look earlier became dark. With narrowed eyes, he said, "Don't think you're beautiful so you can easily control people. I said I won't stop, then I won't stop. Don't be so willful."
Geneva shot the man a cold glance, and nodded. "Fine. You won't stop? Then forgive me."
Geneva suddenly braced her two arms on the front and back seat's headboard and kicked the door open with her feet mercilessly. The window's lock broke and she jumped out with the car that was running.
"You're crazy!" The driver shouted as she jumped. "You want to die?"
The driver was so scared. He couldn't believe such a delicate-looking woman would do such a dangerous thing. Because of that, he had forgotten that his car was ruined and she had never paid for the compensation and fare.
In order not to fall like a pathetic toad on the road due to the motion, Geneva ran, following the direction where the taxi was heading. Good thing, there were only a few cars at the moment and she didn't encounter trouble dodging them in order not to collide with each other.
Even so, it didn't fail to attract the attention of the passers. Apart from the driver she used to ask for a ride, everyone was amazed by her skills and agility.
They were cheering for them, instead of scolding her. What they didn't know was that she was betting her own safety for something else. It would be right to say, she was betting herself for someone else.
Geneva stopped eventually after she managed to adjust her body with the motion and looked around. And just right in time, her target headed towards the direction she was at.
Geneva stood fearlessly on their way. When the target was almost close to her, she pointed her finger and shouted loudly, "You stop there!!!!"
