Chapter 32: Woman, Don't Push Your Luck

820 Words
Allen stepped on the side. Geneva knocked on the door. "Darling, it's me. Open the door, okay?" The kid stopped screaming upon hearing Geneva's voice but the kid inside refused to answer her. The ruckus also stopped but it only took a few minutes and the crashing or smashing objects started once again. Geneva flinched with the sudden sound, worries eventually overtook her heart. Geneva blamed herself. If not because of her careless mouth, this mess would not happen. "Darling, open the door and talk to me, okay? I know you are upset. We are also worried for you. Open the door for me, okay ? Let's talk." They waited for the kid to answer the door but it never happened. The chaotic sounds inside only worsen. "He don't even listen to you now." Allen scratched his head. "What should we do now? This kid really worried me." Chen Lei came over and knocked on the door. Using his usual cold tone, he spoke, "Chen Bao, this is father. Open the door." He knocked on the door once more. This time, his voice has a hint of warning. "Chen Bao Ai, I will say it one last time. Open the door right now!" "Uncle, what are you doing?" Allen asked. "What do you think I'm doing?" Chen Lei cast him a sidelong glimpse and then knocked the door again. "Chen Bao Ai!" "Enough! Stop doing that. Go away." Geneva spoke so fierce only to the man. "You only scare your own son with that attitude of yours. He is only a kid not a business competitor or your enemy. Since you can't help, you better get lost and leave us alone." Chen Lei looked back at her, eyes narrowed sharply as he slightly tilted his head. "Woman, don't push your luck. You're getting ruder." Geneva stared at him coldly. "It depends on how you others treat me." Chen Lei snorted, nodding. "Very well then. Since you're that confident, I will let you settle this thing." With that said, the man left the area and entered to his own room which was only opposite to his son's room. "What kind of attitude is that? Look at him!" Allen pointed at the closed room of the man, frustrated. "How can he do that?" Geneva patted his shoulders. "His son is like this and he is also like that. What a great father!" "It's fine. Calm down Allen." Geneva consoled him. "Let's find a way to calm the kid ourselves. You guys stay here and supervise him. I'll be leaving for a while." "Where are you going?" Allen asked. "Do you really have to leave this time? Can't you stay? You heard her. He locked himself because he heard you're quitting from the job. Geneva, I know this is not appropriate but I beg you, take this as a favor. Help me coax Little Love." Geneva sighed. "I didn't say I'm leaving the house." "Then… you- you said earlier that—" "I said I'm leaving here not leaving this house." Geneva explained, gesturing, "I'm using the other way to enter the room." "What?" Allen was shocked. His eyes rounded and lips parted. "Don't tell me you are going to—" "Psst! Don't say it." Geneva covered her index finger over her lips. "Alright, I'll go ahead." "Is there nothing else? That idea of yours is dangerous." Geneva shook her head and left, pretending not to hear anything from the man. Geneva immediatetly studied the structure of the house when she reached outside. From the ground, there was a narra tree that was almost reaching the balcony of second floor. Aside from it, nothing else was there to support her from climbing. The wall was slippery and everything was plain. Geneva was already grateful for the tree. To ascend on top, she only needed less effort to do so. Without further delay, she hurriedly positioned to climb on the tree. The woman was elegant, looking delicate, and has a flawless skin as if she had never experienced hardship but climbing a tree wasn't that difficult to her. Hugging the narra tree like a monkey, Geneva started to crawl up. "What a gorgeous monkey climbing on a tree." The familiar cold voice was heard below the tree. "This is my first time seeing such monkey. What an eye opener." Geneva froze midway and looked down. "It's you again? Get lost!" Chen Lei raised a brow, crossing his arms over his chest. "Don't you have a brain? Why use the tree if there's a ladder?" He gestured his head at the very edge of the house. I'm the one who feel sorry for your thing. They are made for pleasure not to rub on the tree. Do you think that's a pity?" "Hooligan!" Geneva shouted. Because of annoyance, her holds on the trunk loosened and she accidentally slid down. Geneva screamed in shock.
