Chapter six

I woke up in such a good mood. And then it came back to me. The kiss with Alexander. The way his tongue explored my mouth. The way his lips felt against mine.

He made me feel a type of way I've never felt before. I felt wanted.

I had to tell Max. And I had to tell him soon.

I got dressed in my riding clothes, as usual, and did my hair, as well as brush my teeth. I then took a sip of water out of my water bottle and jogged downstairs.

I saw Max downstairs and I went up to him and hugged him from behind.

"Morning Cass" He smiled and turned around. I hugged him and poked his abs since he was shirtless.

"Morning dork" I yawn and mess his hair up, making him pout.

"Where were you the whole day yesterday?" He asked and I blushed.

"Uh- riding mostly," I say and he nods.

"Right" He smirks and I shake my head.

"I need to get Karma tacked up since Colton will be here soon," I say, avoiding the subject and he nods.

"You do that. I wanted to tell you that I'm going out later since it's Ty's birthday and he invited us and the guys to hang at his place. Would you like to come?" Max asks and I scoff, shaking my head.

"Come with you to a party where everybody's going to be drunk, including you? Yeah no, thank you. Plus I could do without the smell of weed" I say and shake my head. Max could party. And he partied hard and irresponsibly.

"Awwwww but I wanted a date" He pouted and I rolled my eyes.

"You've got many girl contacts, hit them up" I smile and he rolls his eyes.

"You gonna be fine with Alex though?" Max asked and I raise my eyebrow.

"Right, sorry, of course, you two have been spending so much time together that you'd swear something's going on," Max said and I shook my head.

"I mean he is really hot.. and a gentleman.. and he's sweet," I say and Max scoffs.

"Maybe true enough but I don't need my best friend f*****g my brother," He says, rather harshly

"First off, I'm a virgin. Second off, I've heard you f**k many girls before" I say and he sighs.

"It's not the same Cassy baby. You don't know the girls and it's nothing serious. Alexander is my big brother and he's too old for you anyway. So get those thoughts out of that virgin brain of yours. He's also not interested in you, my doll" Max says and I frown.

That was harsh.

"Yeah whatever, Max, I have a lesson to go to now" I roll my eyes and walk out, hearing Max call from me from behind.

You'd swear he'd be nicer. He made me feel like s**t.

I walked to the barn and saw Colton's car. I sighed and walked into the barn and saw that Colton was stroking Pharoah's head.

"Morning Colton," I say and he looks at me and takes off his sunglasses.

"Good morning Cassidy" he smiles and I smile back, wanting to be polite and I get Karmas halter.

I walk to Karmas stall and I put a halter on him, and tack him up.

An hour and a half past and I climbed off Karma.

"You two make a great team. You look great on him and you have a good seat" He says and I smile.

I fed Karma and gave Colton his check for the month.

"Thank you. I'll be seeing you both in two days" Colton says and I nod.

Colton winked at me and walked to his car, climbing in and driving off.

I walked to the house and went upstairs. I was kind of upset about what Max said to me earlier about Alexander.

I was supposed to be going home tomorrow but I felt like going home earlier. Tonight.

I was mad at Max and I needed some time to think. Maybe Alexander was out of my league and I'm just stupid.

I packed my clothes in as well as my toothbrush.

I had no idea who was going to give me a lift home so I messaged my brother.

Me:

Hey, could you come to pick me up, please?

I waited a couple of minutes and got a text back.

Cameron:

On my way

I put my phone back into my pocket and walked downstairs. Max was nowhere to be found and neither was Alexander.

Luckily I had Cameron for backup. Cam and I use to be really close. And Cameron and Max use to be best friends but I guess things changed. It didn't help that when Jessica came into the picture he changed as well.

After a couple of minutes, I got a text from Cameron saying he was outside so I went and climbed into the car and we left.

"What happened?" Cameron asked and I shrugged

"Nothing happened," I said and sighed.

"You never leave your boyfriend's house looking so depressed, and usually we have to force you to come home," He said and I rolled my eyes. He always made fun and teased Max and my relationship. Everybody did.

"Max is not my boyfriend. And space is a good thing" I say and he scoffs.

"Please. As if. You two can't get enough of each other" He says and I sigh.

"So wheres your girlfriend then?" I ask, changing the topic and he scoffs.

"Jessica and I can do with space almost all the time," He says and I look at him.

"Why are you even dating her Cam?" I ask and sigh. Cameron was a good guy and Jessica was a piece of s**t.

"She's hot. Popular. Fit. We're into sports. She's good at sucking d**k-" I scoffed and cut him off

"Gross. I hope not all men are like that" I say and he laughs.

"Oh, we are. Just some keep it quiet" He stops in front of the house and I climb out, taking my bags and I take it upstairs. I take out the phone seeing I had two messages.

Alexander:

I saw you left. I hope I didn't upset you? I'm sorry I was gone this morning. I had a business meeting.

Alexander:

Sweetheart, please don't be mad at me. Call me?

I sighed and dialed his number. Alexander soon answered.

"Cassidy" He breathed out and I smiled. It was hard to avoid him. Avoid the feelings he gives me.

"Alexander," I say and he sighs.

"Sweetheart, why did you leave so early? I planned on spending the whole night with you. Alone" He says and it makes my breathe hitch by the way he said "alone" it's as if he had some stuff planned.

"Well, what was it that you had planned?" I say, acting stupid.

"I was thinking I would have ordered us some take-out. We'd go to my room and I'd put on a nice movie. Probably horror since I know what a scared little baby you are. Then you'd come cuddling in my arms. Then maybe I'd start kissing you. I'd put you on my lap-" I cut him

"Whoa, there cowboy. You know how bad lying is" I smirk and he chuckles.

"Too bad I don't lie," He says and I shiver.

There was a few seconds of silence and he spoke up

"But really. Why did you leave early?" He asked and I sighed.

"Max said some mean things.. and I got upset," I say.

"I understand. But I want to see you soon Cass. Come over tomorrow after school?" He asks and I bite my lip.

"Depends. Are we going to order that takeout you were talking about?" I smirk and he chuckles.

"Of course" He smirks and I giggle.

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow then" I smile and he sighs softly.

"Till then, baby," He says and we both put down the phone.

He makes my heart beat so fast and he gives me butterflies.
