12 As Ivy was setting up the music room for the afternoon, Piper poked her head in the doorway. Fidgeting with a short curl, Piper asked, “Do you have time to talk about your idea to transform the airfield into a park?” “Sure.” Ivy placed a stack of cocktail napkins on the serving table. She was intrigued by Piper’s question, and the younger woman seemed excited. “I wouldn’t mind a second cup of coffee. Let’s go into the dining room.” Ivy kept coffee there for guests throughout the day. “How was your lunch at the Coral Cafe?” “Delicious. Gayle and most of the others stayed in the village.” After they settled at a table covered in a blue-checked tablecloth, Piper began, “I’ve been thinking about our conversation by the firepit. My dream has been to find a project that I could manage.
