Theodora’s POV

Two weeks after the injury

“Princess, you should hurry” I was sitting on my bed thinking about what would happen when my maid Rose entered the chamber with a maid uniform. My shoulder was not properly healed. Still, the band-aids were wrapped around my shoulder and ached with every stretch.

“I want to kill this wolf king.” I clenched the bedsheets and said.

“Princess, lower your voice. Maybe you don’t know that the walls have ears these days” She shushed me with worried expressions.

“Princess, we are already late. The king might get angry and I don’t think that we should face his wrath” Rose was a loyal maid. She was an orphan and my father appointed her as my maid when she was young. She was just two years younger than me. Rose was a beautiful woman with nice curves for a 22-year-old woman.

She was captured and kept in the dungeons with others and after so many requests I have done to Keelin, he finally released Rose to train me as a maid. She was an innocent soul, I didn’t want her to suffer there in the dungeons.

“Help me get dressed Rose” She covered the changing area by pulling the curtains and helped me to change into my maid uniform. The maid's uniform is a white and black one with long sleeves. The hem of the dress ends at the feet. Rose tied my hair into a bun since I couldn’t do it with my wounded shoulder.

“Princess, I beg your pardon for saying this, even in this uniform you look beautiful.” She complimented me and I smiled softly.

“Who knows that the Alpha king may gone crazy after seeing my beautiful princess!” She giggled, but I didn’t like that comment.

“Don’t take that b*stard’s name. He was the most hateful person in my life. Rose tell me, how were your days there in the dungeons?” I took her both palms and sat on the bed.

“Well, the first two days were horrible, but since the third day, Alpha King Keelin personally visited the dungeons and released the innocent and threatless people to him. He was keeping the soldiers, warriors, and generals in the dungeons. Women and children were fed well and provided all the basic needs” My eyebrows raised in surprise.

“Are you speaking the truth? because I can’t believe it. He was an animal, the most horrible disgusting creature in the world. He was a womanizer!” I clenched my teeth.

“In the beginning, I was scared too, because they are stronger, faster, and killing machines. I was afraid that they would abuse us, but King Keelin strictly advised that none of a wolf would inappropriately touch a woman. If one does, he said the consequences are not going to be good. Their Gamma, Ordan was kind and funny sometimes. He eases our tenses”

But he slept with me! what’s the two face he was playing? Why was he showing the good side? I shouldn’t fall for his trap! I was mentally determined.

“Princess, don’t worry, they are treating King Ruben also in a royal way!” Rose’s appreciation was irritating me.

Did they chant a spell on her to speak so many positive things about them?

“I think we should go now, Rose. You help me today, I will learn quickly the duties of a maid” I said standing up from the bed.

We both walked out of my chamber. I was looking outside after two weeks since the war. There was a massive change in the decorations, colors, and the uniforms of the guards, the flags everything. I looked outside of the wall to see the garden hadn’t changed. I must say it was the only thing that he didn’t change.

“Where is he? Is he in the father’s chamber? Did that greedy wolf take my father’s chamber?” I clicked my tongue arrogantly.

“No princess, King Ruben has given his chamber. Alpha Keelin took another chamber” Again it was a surprise for me when Rose said so.

“You mean the father is in his chambers yet?” When I asked Rose nodded with a smile.

Passing my floor, we climbed a few steps up and turned to the right side. This floor we have allocated to the guests. This was the first floor of the guests and as soon as I kept my foot on the floor the guards who were walking here and there turned their heads towards us.

Do they have this much of a hearing?

“Princess Theodora, the King was waiting. I guess you are a little late to start the day!” the guard who was at the front spoke.

“Let’s go, princess!” Rose pulled from my hand.

“Wait, I need to search both of you!” A woman emerged between the guards who were closer to Keelin’s door. I think he has instructed us to search before we enter.

The lady searched us thoroughly and permitted us to enter his chamber.

“Come in!” Rose was about to knock when I heard his deep voice inside the chamber. Usually, the chamber was like a seal-type one, nothing from inside can’t hear from outside. How does his voice reach outside clearly even through these thick walls and wooden doors?

Rose and I entered the room. When my father designed the castle, he wanted spacious chambers for guests. These guest chambers are almost huge and lavish like Father’s chamber. I slowly roamed my eyes to see the change in the room. the interiors and color of it were changed. It was designed with light blue and white before, but now it’s silver, dark grey, and dark blue.

When my eyes lay on the huge bed at the center of the room it was covered with the white net hanging from the room. I saw another two figures of women lying there.

Womanizer!

“Look half-na*ed women laying on his bed” I whispered to Rose’s ear.

“They are my mistresses!” I was startled by the close voice I heard from behind. He was so close to me that I was surprised from where did he come suddenly.

“Your grace!” Rose pulled from my hand to bow to him, but I didn’t. Instead of bowing to him, I looked straight into his blue eyes. It was like everything disappeared around me and only his Alpha aura surrounded me.

“Mate!” again the same voice echoed inside me pulling me out and breaking our eye contact.

What’s happening to me? Am I hallucinating?

“You should learn to respect your king Theodora!” He said.

“My king is King Ruben, and this head won’t bow in front of murderers who invade my kingdom!” I want to hurt his ego and his feelings. He looked at me narrowing his eyes and later he gave me a mocking smile.

“King Keelin, forgive the princess for what she said. She didn’t mean to disrespect you” Rose spoke before I say anything.

“Don’t bow your head to these murders who destroyed our kingdom, Rose. I will take it back from his hand and he will hand over me Druvell happily” The corner of my lips curved into a mocking smile.

“Princess, please don’t involved in unwanted fights. I am begging you!” Rose whispered to me.

“If anyone called her princess from today onwards, I will slit the throat of that person,” He said in a tough voice. The chamber was clouded with an awkward silence.

“Since you are already late Theodora, let’s begin your duties,” He said breaking the silence. The mistresses were sleeping like they were too busy until dawn. It was disgusting to imagine that a man was sleeping with two women.

Maybe that’s why he doesn’t have a permanent woman in his life! Who wants to be a piece of rotten meat when he already has a buffet presence in front of him?

“Princes, come let’s fill the bathtub for the king to have a bath” Rose was teaching me things. I couldn’t lift a bucket of water to fill his tub with my wounded shoulder.

“Rose, you can go out. She will perform her duties as a maid alone!”
