It has been two days since I sent my Beta Liam to investigate Amira.
Amira , her name sounds so nice.
Anyway, she is not from any nearby town so I sent him to go and check in the city.
If her parents wanted to keep her away from wolves, they must have shifted to the city to live among humans.
Which is not surprising most rogues do.
Other wolves with packs prefer to live in towns among their kind.
I am eagerly waiting for Liam to arrive. He just reminded me that he was coming with his parents.
Amira has already moved to the packing house, so I don't want her to meet them before I can interrogate them.
She must have been a very strong wolf because she healed quickly and all her scars are gone.
Knock knock!
A knock sounded, bringing me back to reality from her thoughts.
"Come in , I said.
"Alpha, I have brought Mr and Mrs Kingsley, Liam said, entering with a middle-aged couple following behind him.
Amira looks nothing like them ,they are both blondes with green eyes. Maybe she took after her grandparents. It's not surprising, some children look different from their parents.
"Sit down," I said, pointing towards the chairs in front of my table.
"They tried to run away, but I caught up with them and brought them here , Liam said through the mind link.
"OK OK, I will handle them," I replied back .
Liam went out as I leaned back on my chair, making a new discovery.
They are not rogues, but omegas are still connected to their pack.
Then how can they have a rogue daughter?
"Amira is not your daughter, I said in an affirmative tone.
"No sir, she is our daughter. We raised her for more than 15 years, Mrs Kingsley said.
"Then why does she have a different surname from you? I asked noting the number of years she said , Amira is almost 18.
They both fidgeted and looked around, not meeting my eyes.
"You better tell me the truth or else ...I looked at them sternly, releasing my Alpha Aura.
My Aura weighed down on them, making them shiver .
"Sir, she is not our daughter but we raised her like our child, so she's just like our daughter,, Mr Kingsley stated, looking down.
"Why is she a rogue and doesn't even know that she is a werewolf? I asked.
"Because that's the instructions we received 15 years ago when we adopted her , we are not to tell her about her identity till she receives her gift, he continued.
"Tell me what really happened, I said, frustrated with his half-stories.
Flashback.
Crack! thrrr!
Lightning cracked in the sky as thunder sounded amidst the heavy rain.
Two figures walked in the rain with something in their arms.
The lightning illuminated the surroundings lighting a woman and a man .
The man is carrying a three-year-old child, holding her against his chest safely and securely.
"Babe, do you think this will work? What if something happens to her? You know she is our only hope , the woman said", lifting her head to look at the man and gesturing to the child.
"We have no other choice, my love , the black Shadows can easily track us and you know what will happen if she falls into their hands, the man said, navigating his way through the rain.
"I guess that's our only choice. I hope the Luna and Alpha will understand our choice, the woman said, patting the head of the girl.
"They will, my love. Now let's be done quickly before anyone can find out, he said, standing in front of a cottage.
The woman knocked on the door and a young couple came out.
"Here is the child. Move to the city at the crack of dawn. You have to take care of her till she is 18 and gets a wolf . Don't tell her she is a werewolf till she gets her wolf, the woman ordered in a cold voice unlike her gentle demeanor previously.
"Every year you will get the money for raising her, half of it for you and the other half for her, the man continued with a grim voice.
"Once you complete this mission your ranks will be raised to Deltas, the woman said, bringing a smile on the couple's faces for the first time.
It's not easy for omegas to raise their ranks, so this is a golden opportunity for them.
"Most importantly, give her this letter once she gets her wolf. Don't open it or else.....,the man handed them a sealed envelope looking at them with a warning expression.
The young couple took over the girl and took her inside the house as the man and woman left after one last glance.
End the flashback.
"Alpha we were handed the girl by another couple to raise and given money for doing that ."
"We were also warned not to tell her anything."
"We agreed to their conditions for money.
, As omegas there's no way we could earn that kind of money, so it was a good deal for us."
"But we were not able to conceive our own children, so we have always taken Amira as our real daughter."
Mr and Mrs Kingsley explained facing Reynold without giving away anything.
"OK, you can go and meet Amira and don't tell her she is a wolf, my Beta will take you there," I told them, mind linking Liam to come over and escort them to Amira.
I placed my hand on my forehead, thinking this was much more complicated than I thought.
My mate has an unknown identity and that could be dangerous for my Pack and her.
