12 years later
It’s James’s eighteenth birthday and Duncan is anticipating big things to happen tonight. Over the years the kid has proven to be skilled in combat, tactics and knowledge. We all knew he was smart from an early age and it shows everyday. His cocky attitude sometimes got his ass in trouble with Duncan, but that’s every teenage boy.
Tonight James would take on his first shift and then in a few days he would take over as Alpha. Duncan was looking forward to passing on the torch so he could enjoy his family a little more and go on a much needed vacation. He had a house built next to mine and was already moving things into it, so the transition would be smooth.
