Jamie’s POV
I wake up slowly feeling the effects of yesterday. Every part of my body is sore. I take a deep breath in and smell dust and dirt instead of my mate. He should have found me in the field after I mind-linked him.
I open my eyes to look around. I'm in a room I have never seen before. I’m not anywhere I have ever seen before. This room is made of stone with red curtains over the one window. My heart is pounding in my chest with dread. What happened that I’m not at home? I slowly get up to get off the bed I’m in.
I’m still wearing the same clothes from yesterday and I have no shoes on. I can tell my feet are dirty as hell and I have no shoes.
