Tristan hadn't expected her to apologize. He knew he couldn't trust her intentions anymore after all she did to him.
"You don't have to cry, Helen. What you did really hurt me, you know. Stop crying please"
"I can't stop. You don't know how much this contract has taught me over here. I regret not giving you a chance and taking you for granted. You were really great to me, Tristan, unlike this fool here who makes me feel less of a woman."
"Helen. Can we meet up tomorrow? I will see you at your workplace" he asked, feeling really uncomfortable about all this.
"Alright. Please let us meet. I have a lot to tell you" she agreed, cleaning her tears.
"Please stop the tears. Crying doesn't look good on you", he pleaded. "Have you eaten?"
"I couldn't eat. I have been wanting to talk to you the whole day," she confessed.
"Please eat. You will need the strength" he advised, before hanging up the call. As soon as the call had ended, she turned away from the pool and caught sight of Finn staring at her from the pool entrance. She stared away immediately, pretending not to have noticed him.
"This got you to call your ex, didn't it? Seems this contract thing is messing with your mind", he mocked before letting out a laugh.
"Just leave me alone" She pleaded quietly as she stood up and began walking toward the door. Finn blocked her way immediately with his hands, making her confused.
"Excuse me?!" She exclaimed with anger.
"I will leave first. You can't leave before me. This is my house". He bullied her and walked out with a big grin humming a song that was played on his ipod. Helen got furious at this attitude of his. He had seen she had bloodshot eyes due to the large number of tears she cried, but that made no difference to him. He only saw that as a chance to mock her.
"What was I even expecting?" She had said to herself, heading into the washroom.

Helen got emotional at the sight of Tristan. The amount of joy she felt having seen him again after a long time made her feel very emotional. She had foolishly gotten herself stuck in a negative situation which she did not want. A negative situation she would have to endure until she found a solution out of this mess she was in.
"Why did you accept the contract despite knowing you didn't love him or know him?"
"I was scared for my career. His dad threatened my career. There is no way i would let his father ruin all my hard work."
"They are just one company, Helen. If this one doesn't take you in, another will. Why would you get yourself sucked into this?"
"I was not thinking okay? I thought things would be easy. I mean it's just a marriage contract, right?"
"Yeah. So what exactly is the problem with you? Why were you sobbing last night?" He asked with concern.
"That man is controlling. He has so many rules and won't let me do i want."
"I don't blame him. I mean, you live in his house and will not let you meddle with his home or his privacy. You are not his wife...you are just in a temporary marriage where you have to pose as a good wife"
"Good wife? The man doesn't even want to accept i have to pose as his wife. He takes me as a housemate. Restricting me from touching any of his things. There is even this girl his family keeps talking about. He doesn't wish to tell me about her. No matter how many times i try to make him talk, he just throws me a cold stare and causes a tantrum."
"Woah. What a guy you've got there! Perhaps she is his ex or fiancee. There might be a memory attached to her he doesn't want you to know about. Why am I not surprised about the reason why he isn't vulnerable to you?"
Helen sighed.
"You know what, let's leave this matter. He isn't the one i wished to talk about with you."
"Alright. So what's wrong?"
"Tristan, i want us to get back together", she asked with a nervous tone. She knew the conversation couldn't end well since Tristan was very angry with her, but she didn't see any harm in giving it a trial. Tristan didn't look happy at that.
"Look Helen…"
"I know i did wrong and i am sorry. Please forgive me and give me another chance. I promise to never doubt you again or...or talk about Shalom"
"Shalom told me you confronted her in the restaurant where you worked with me. Is that true?" Helen nodded slowly. "Goodness me! That was very immature of you, Helen. I never expected that from you at all. How exactly do you expect me to trust you if you feel comfortable investigating my ex over a stupid pendant?"
"I am sorry. I was curious…"
"You could have asked me whatever question you wanted concerning her. I would have given you a sincere response"
"I know...we don't have to let the past spoil the beautiful thing we had together", she said. Tristan shook his head with an adamant look.
"See, I can't do this anymore. I am sorry. We can be friends instead. How is that? I mean, you can still share things with me as your friend. Moreover, you still have a responsibility over that spoilt dude if you want to impress his dad. Dating me will definitely not be an option...if you love your job."
"Being friends is okay as long i don't lose contact with you. Who cares about Finn? He was the one kissing one of the models yesterday without thinking about my reaction or the reaction of the rest of the staff if he gets caught. He was doing it in the open Tristan. Anyone could have walked in and seen that. His dad always pays him unexpected visits. I assure you that he is daddy's boy. His dad will not stay mad at him for long, but me...what if his dad finds out we are both lying to him? He will blame me for this and ruin my entire career"
"Come on Helen. You overthink situations. It's fine", he assured her, holding her hands in his with a smile. She smiled back, feeling the joy she hadn't felt in a long time. Little did she realize Finn walking out of the building, approaching them with a surprised stare.
"O! Okay. He was the one you were crying for last night", He intruded with a short clap. "To be sincere Helen, he isn't that bad. Great choice". He gave her a wink. Helen said nothing.
"You must be Finn. Nice to meet you. Helen has told me so much about you" Tristan greeted him, stretching his hand out for a handshake. Helen pulled his hand back promptly with an irked stare.
"Do not act formally with this dude. He doesn't deserve it. Come on, let's go to the nearby cafeteria. We can continue our discussion there". She suggested pointing toward a cafeteria in front of the company. Finn laughed dryly.
"What do you think you're doing, Helen?" He asked with a surprised expression. "I know we are in a contract marriage but, are you not thinking about my father or your job at all?"
"Excuse me? Who are you to care about that? You also didn't care about my job when you were caught kissing that lady". She snapped at him angrily. She got even more upset realizing Finn had ignored her and focused on Tristan instead. Tristan didn't look excited getting caught up in this situation.
"Look bro, she will be at risk if you both continue seeing each other like this in front of the company. I am not telling you not to see her or make up things with her. I can see you are both about to get back together. Just don't do it around the company. She is furious I was making out with a lady yesterday in my office. This could be the reason she isn't using her brain. My dad won't get furious at her if i am with another lady. All he would do is advise me to pay more attention to Helen here, but i assure you that I don't give a damn about her. Carry on with whatever you both are doing, but be very watchful". He concluded what he had to say before walking toward his car to receive a phone call.
"Wow. That was weird", Tristan confessed.
"He is always like that. Just ignore him"
"Why didn't you tell him we aren't getting back together?" He wanted to know. Helen didn't know the answer to that either. She just felt the need to piss off Finn a little by lying that she had someone so that he would be aware he wasn't the only one who had freedom. Not that it would ever affect him anyway. She couldn't stop doing stupid things could she? "You know what? I have seen enough drama for today. I have a very important investor to meet in the office in thirty minutes. I can't put up with all this s**t anymore. It was nice speaking with you Helen. Hope you have fun with your...your Finn"
