Chapter 6: The One?

*Jason Pov
"What do you mean do i believe in fate?" I can tell she is confused and scared i need to make sure i do this right. The last thing i want is to scare her off, i don't think i can live knowing i found her but lost her at the same time.
"Do you believe in your destined one? A soul mate?"
"I've never thought about it."
"Okay, i am going to explain everything to you. But i need you to keep an open mind and when i show you what i am talking about please don't run Lila. I need you to believe me that i would never EVER hurt you. Can you promise me?"
"I can try." She say's with a weak smile, god i hope she accepts me. All of me. I know the moon goddess wouldn't bless me with Lila if we weren't right for each other. She needs me just as much as i need her.
"*Sigh* Okay i'm not really sure where to start so i will just jump straight in. I am a werewolf but not just me Hayden, Claire and most of the town are werewolves. We do have some humans that live among us, most of whom have no idea who we really are. And there are some that we have chosen to in trust are secrets to. We are like a community we live in what we call a pack. And every pack has a leader which are called Alpha's. The alpha's are chosen by blood right to lead the future of the pack until it is time to pass it down to the next generation."
She gives me a small nod and smile to encourage me to keep talking, so far so good. She hasn't made a run for the door or pass out. Which is always a good sign.
"Does you being a werewolf have anything to do with the wolf i saw in my dreams?"
"Maybe. I have heard stories about powerful wolves being able to call out to their mates through dreams while both are in a state of sleep. But i have never known anyone that has done it."
You keep saying mate. What is a mate?"
Oh Lila i feel like you have just asked the million dollar question and hopefully you will accept the answer i give you. I really don't think i can live without her. Every second we are together i can feel the pull getting stronger. Maybe it's because i have Alpha blood in me, we feel everything much stronger than a normal wolf. But we are also much faster and stronger as well.
I take her hand in mine and make sure she is looking me straight in the eyes when i tell her I am hers just as much as she is mine. And i whole heartedly hope she accepts me.
"Lila every wolf is lucky enough to be blessed with a mate by the moon goddess, a mate is literally the wolves other half of their soul. They were created for each other to make each other stronger and complete. I knew the second i locked eyes with you that you are my mate, my soulmate."
*Lila Pov
This is a lot of information to take in but in saying that something inside of me is telling me he is telling the truth. My whole body is yearning for him, craving his touch, his smell. I just want to fall in his arms and have him never let go. But that is crazy, this whole thing is crazy. When i look in his eyes all i can see is kindness and compassion. But he must be wrong something about this whole situation is wrong.
There is no way i am the girl he is looking for. I can't be his soulmate there must be someone that's worthy of such a thing out there. My own family couldn't love me and now this complete stranger is telling me that he is my soulmate destined to be with him forever? No. I don't believe that part. I believe everything else, but i can't believe anyone would give someone as perfect as Jason someone like me as a soulmate. That's just cruel.
I look over to the side of the bed and into the mirror and the girl in the reflection looks nothing like me. My eye is swollen and black and blue. I have bruises and cuts all over my face and body and even before all that i am the furthest thing from pretty. There must be something wrong with me that my own family would beat me to the point i wasn't sure if i would survive it. No he is wrong and the faster i am out of his life the better for everyone. I obviously didn't get far enough so the smart thing to do would be to pack up and leave and never look back. But i don't know that i can.
""Are you alright love? I know this is a lot to process all at once."
He looks so sweet and concerned and i sincerely hope all this is real. Something inside me is screaming out for him but it feels wrong to answer that call.
"I'm fine. I believe you Jason but there is something you are mistaking about. You have to be."
"And what would that be?"
"You must have confused me with someone else. There is no way that i can be your soulmate."
I turn to look at him and he looks as if his entire world has come crashing down. And my heart is breaking knowing that i am the one that has made him look like that. But this is for the best.
"Lila why would you say that?"
"I don't deserve you Jason. I don't deserve anyone. I feel like i am defective that my own family couldn't even love me. And you said that you are the future leader of your pack and that your mate will help you lead the pack. I don't think i am the right person for that. I am a coward and i am broken, i don't think that anyone or anything can put me back together."
*Jason Pov
Hearing the way she talks about herself makes me think that no one has ever truly cared for her or loved her. She doesn't know how. But i will be damned if that will stop me, i just have to show her what being loved feels like.
"Lila please don't say that about the person i care more about in the entire world. You were created to be loved by me and I was created for you. If you let me i will treat you the way you should have always been treated. Like a queen. Which you kind of will be, being my Luna you will be like royalty to the pack."
"Jason I-
"Nothing has to be decided right this minute. How about we take things slow and let you heal first."
She looks at me hesitant but i hope she knows i am not going to back down.
"Okay."
"Good. But there is another thing. I think you should come live with me and my family at the pack house. I after what happened i don't think you should be alone."
"Thank you Jason really but i will be fine. You said that my aunt has been arrested right?"
"Yes she was arrested but she is out on bail apparently. But even if she wasn't i don't want you to be alone. And you coming to live with me doesn't mean you and i will be sharing a room. We would just be living in the same house."
"Okay."
Ah she's blushing, it is taking everything i have to not push her down on the bed right now and mark her as mine. But i can't and won't until she gives me her consent. Otherwise i will probably lose her.
*Alpha sorry to interrupt but i couldn't intercept your mother and father any longer and are heading for Luna's hospital room. They want to meet her and aren't going to wait any longer.
Okay thank you Hayden that's fine.
"Lila love my parents are on their way up to the room. They would like to meet you if that's alright?"
"Why do they want to meet me?"
"Because they heard that i have found you, my mate and would like to come congratulate us."
"Oh okay sure i guess."
Before either of us could say anything else the door flung open and in walks my mother. I haven't told her that Lila is human yet, I'm not sure how they will react. It has been generations since we have had a human Luna.
"Mother, Father. This is my mate Lila. She has just agreed to move into the pack house with me."
My mother looks at me and then looks at Lila confusion written all over her face. Oh goddess please don't let my mother have a scene.
"Jason she's human?"
"Yes mom she is. why?"
"That may be a problem Jason."
