Chapter Six ~ Meeting Dexter King!

            “What was that all about?” Amir asked and I turned to look at her realizing that Hope wasn’t with us.

            “I don’t know. I was just about to ask Hope, but I think she went to class because she isn’t with us. Did you guys get a day pass? By the way, what are you guys doing here?” I asked and Imani smiled.

            “Well, your brother was telling us about some mean girls up here and at first we were like Angel can handle her own, but he thought it would be a good idea for us to come instead of him coming back or Cyir coming to show the stupid little brats and entitled little prick that your family is deep. None of us like you being here by yourself but we understand and respect your decision.” Imani said.

            “Oh, and yeah, Christopher took us to the headmistress office when he dropped us off. So, we have day passes for today and tomorrow.” Lydia said with a smile holding up her pass so I could see it.

            “Cool, this is my first lecture and I sit up front but there are visitors seat on the last two rows. I’m running late so; I better get inside.” I said and turned from them to walk in class, and they followed behind me and took their seats in the back.

            When my first lecture was over, I introduced my sister and sister in laws to my professor and as we were getting ready to leave, the guy Dexter stepped up to us.

            “Hi, I’m Dexter King, sorry about that incident with my sister earlier. She has real anger issues. I’ve seen you around before, but I never caught your name.” Dexter said to me and oh my goddess is he not as handsome as he wants to be.

            “Her name is Angel.” Amir answered for me clearing her throat to get my attention when I took longer than normal to give a response mesmerized by his appearance.

            “Angel, do you have a surname?” Dexter asked and I smiled.

            “Parks, my name is Angel Parks. It’s nice to meet you, Dexter.” I said to him with a shy smile.

            “You would happen to be related you Christian Parks, would you?” He asked me with a slight change in his tone.

            “Yes, that is my twin brother, and these ladies here are my sister Amir, my sister-in-law Imani, and my sister-in-law Lydia.” I said again with a shy tone.

            “Well, that explains the strong resemblance you and your sister Amir has with him. Did he leave school? I haven’t seen him in almost three years.” Dexter said

            “Yeah, he went back to Portland, Oregon with our older brother.” I said with a small smile.

            “Let me guess the guy that was on campus with you yesterday?” Dexter said with a shy smile this time at me.

            “Yeah, that’s our oldest brother Christopher.” I said to him.

            “You guys all look alike. You couldn’t deny one another if you wanted to.” Dexter said and Amir and I looked at each other.

            “We would never want to.” Amir said with a smile, and I nodded my head in agreement.

            “What time is your next class?” Imani asked me looking at her phone.

            “Ten minutes it’s just a couple halls away. I normally meet up with Hope in between classes, but she didn’t show up today.” I said looking at Imani with a smile.

            “Well, it was nice meeting you ladies, and I’m sorry again about my sister Angel. I will make sure she leaves you and your friend Hope alone.” Dexter said.

            “How are you two so different?” Lydia asked and Dexter smiled.

            “I was adopted when I was four. King Daniel Covington, was a friend of my fathers before the plane crash took him away from me, so he took me in. Adaline is my adopted sister, and she is spoiled beyond measure.” Dexter said and we all gave him a small smile.

            “Sorry about your father, and I don’t mean to pry but what happen to your mother?” Lydia asked and a sad frown appeared on Dexter’s face.

            “All I know is she was sick, and her sickness took her away from my father and me when I was two.” Dexter said and I looked deeply in his eyes not missing the pain talking about his parents brought him.

            “I’m sorry to hear that.” I said and looked at Amir.

            “Dexter, how do you know our brother Christian?” Amir asked him and he nervously rubbed his hand behind his neck looking at Amir then down to the ground, trying to avoid eye contact with me.

            “Umm, three years ago, we both had data analytics with Dr. Fraiser. He is really smart with the computer science behind data analytics, and he was the top person in our class. When I started struggling in the class Dr Fraiser suggested I talk with him. He was kind and willing to tutor me and I ended up passing the class within the top three. I saw him with a beautiful girl one day and I asked him her name, but he refused to tell me. He said you were off limits.” Dexter said and looked up at me from the ground with a shy smile and my face turn red when I realized that he had just called me beautiful.

            “Yeah, Christian is a computer geek, and he is the kindest boy I know.” Imani said and I smiled.

            “We should get to class before the bell.” Dexter said looking at me and I smiled then nodded as he turned on his heels and walked in the opposite direction of my class.

            “He’s handsome and seem to have a little crush on you sis.” Amir said to me as we began to walk.

            “I’m sure he can have any girl in this school and there are definitely some, prettier and more outgoing than me.” I said and all three of them looked at me as to say bite you tongue.

            “I’m sure he can have any girl in this school. But his eyes are on my little sister who in my opinion is the prettiest WRA has to offer.” Amir said with a grin.

            “Can that please be our secret? I don’t want my brother’s messing with him.” I said and they all looked at me with wonder in their eyes.

            “Of course, we are married to them, we know them well.” Lydia said and Imani and Amir nodded.

            When we got to my second lecture today, we all walked inside and took our seats. Class was uneventful and kind of boring, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Dexter. After class we went to quad period and Hope was at our spot waiting for me.

            “What happened to you this morning? You just disappeared. I wanted to introduce you to my sister and sister-in- laws. Hope this my sister Amir, my sister-in-law Imani who’s my brother you met yesterday wife, and my sister-in-law Lydia whose Amir’s twin Cyir wife. You guys this is Hope.” I said and they all smiled.

            “Nice to meet you all.” Hope said with a smile.

            “Nice to meet you also, we loved the bracelet you gave Angel.” Imani said with a smile.

            “Nice to meet you also. “Lydia said with a smile.

            “Yes, it was a very nice bracelet, and it is nice to meet you also.” Amir said
