“Thank you, it’s nothing really. Just something I made to show my appreciate for everything Angel has done for me.” Hope said with a smile.
“That makes it even better, you mind telling us what the charms symbolizes?” Amir asked with a smile.
“Umm… I’m not sure if I should say out in the open there are a lot of ears around here.” Hope said with a small smile.
“I know some place we can go to have some privacy.” I said thinking about the library stacks, there is never anybody in there and we all have heightened hearing abilities, mines not as good but still there where I can hear the smallest of whispers.
“Okay.” Hope said and I stood and walked towards the library stacks, and they all followed me.
We arrived at the library five minutes later and just as I suspected, it was empty. I walked to the back of the room where the stairs to the stacks were and walked up the steps with them all following me. When we reached the top and walked inside, we were met by none other than Dexter King. I was surprised he knew about this area, but I didn’t want to make our presence awkward.
“So, we meet again. Hello ladies.” Dexter said with a small smile.
“Hi Dexter, are we interrupting something?” I asked him sincerely.
“No, I just like peace and quiet during quad period. Do you ladies plan to be loud?” He said softly.
“Not at all, we will be right over there in the corner.” Amir said softly and nodded her head in the direction of the corner she was speaking of.
“Well carry on, I won’t be intrusive.” Dexter said and walked over to the opposite corner to give us maximum space.
“Thank you, Dexter.” I whispered softly before following the others to our corner.
“Anytime, Angel.” He said with a slight smile, but it pulled at something in me.
When I got over into the corner, I heard Amir telling Hope that we all have exceptional hearing abilities and that she doesn’t need to speak louder than a small whisper and Hope nodded.
“So, I know that you are all werewolves. I can smell it and sense it in my blood. I’m what you would call a light creature, or a faerie or symbol is that of a lightening bolt. I’ve been wanting to tell you Angel since our first encounter, but I don’t feel your wolf like I feel your sister’s wolves and your brother Christopher’s wolf. I can sense it, but I don’t feel it. I can only reveal my true nature to another supernatural. I wasn’t sure about revealing it to you until yesterday when I felt the dominance of Christopher’s wolf.” Hope said with a nervous expression on her face.
“Yeah, well you won’t be able to feel her wolf until after she turns eighteen in a couple years. We all are of age and our wolf spirit in no longer dormant within us, that is why you can feel us. My husband is an Alpha with Royal human blood coursing through him, which is why you felt dominance coming from him.” Imani said and we all looked at her.
“I’ve never met an Alpha before.” Hope said with a small smile.
“Well now you have met four wolves with Alpha blood and the reason you can sense Angel is because she is an Alpha wolf with human royal blood coursing through her as well and so is Amir here.” Imani said and Hope smiled.
“You seem to know a lot about this or should I say my kind.” Hope said looking at Imani.
“Yeah, when I was a girl, my grandmother uses to tell me stories about faeries and the undeniable connection that they share with wolves and vampires. She told me that young female faeries are often abused, bullied, and treated with disregard because they don’t recognize the strength and ability, they have within themselves. They are also taken advantaged of by the worse of the worse because they aren’t confrontational species, and they will only fight back when it is absolutely necessary to their own survival.” Imani said and I smiled at my sister-in-law then looked at Angel.
“I guess that is why we are drawn to each other. It’s because wolves are natural protectors of the innocent and I think because of what you are, your nature calls out to mines.” I said looking at Hope and smiling.
“I guess you are right. But now that we know what each other are, we still must keep our species secret. Eighty-five percent of WRA population is human. There is only three percent of fae species, four percent of wolf species, seven percent vampire species, and one percent of unclassified supernatural species.” Hope said and my eyes widened.
“I didn’t know there were any other species here. I sense wolf and vampire but nothing else but human.” I said to Hope, and she smiled.
“Well between you all and me, Dexter is not human at all. He is a halfling, half werewolf and half of something unclassified.” Hope said even quieter than her whispers before and all our eyes snapped to Dexter, thank the Goddess his back was turned to us.
“I sensed that also earlier, but I also can’t make out the other species.” Imani said with a raised eyebrow, and I looked back at Hope.
“Hey ladies, the next lecture is in ten minutes. We should start walking over so we aren’t late.” I said to my sisters, and they all nodded.
We all left the library stacks and walked Hope to her class first before heading to my next lecture. I was overwhelmed by all the information I had just heard. I was a little apprehensive that Dexter wasn’t human. I sense he was wolf, but I thought he was like me, half wolf half human. When we got to my lecture, my sisters and I took our seats, but I could tell something was puzzling them also. When my lecture was over, we slipped out and headed towards the courtyard. I had one more lecture before lunch period and one after lunch period, but I was already ready for this day to be over. I didn’t want to bump into Dexter again, I couldn’t stop thinking about him and now I wanted to know what he is. I wanted to ask him point blank, but I could expose what I am if he could be an enemy species. I needed to talk more with my parents about all the species out there and which ones would mean me harm.
The rest of the day I didn’t see Dexter or Hope, and it was kind of a relief. My sisters and I left WRA and went back to the Palace around 2:30 pm. When we got home, I requested a family meeting. There was much to be discussed.
