MUSA’S POV: The next day, I woke up early and the thought of my doll waking up next to me came into my mind and a smile immediately made its way onto my face. Mom was going to come the next day. My PA told me that my doll was going to go to Lahore that same evening. I was relaxed as I already knew address, college and other important stuff. My day went well with my doll on my mind for the whole of it. I decided to see her before she left for Lahore. I went to her hotel and watched her, thinking about how I would be without seeing her for a day. ‘I don’t even think I’m going to let her go to her father’s house after marriage.’ I laughed at my own thoughts and left for home. I wrapped up my work over there and set off for Lahore. Mom reached the next day, I hugged and greeted her. “Hello Son.” Mom said. “How’s everyone in Karachi?” I asked her. “Everyone was fine. But let’s come to the point, who is the lucky girl?” Mom inquired. “Her name is Farah, her mother has passed away and her father is a surgeon.” I informed Mom. “I am sure she must be very nice, since my son has chosen her.” Mom smiled. “Mom, can you please go there today?” I pleaded Mom. “No, not today. We will go tomorrow. By the way, I am really excited to meet her. My son, who didn’t want to get married anytime soon, is dying to get married to her.” She teased. I smiled and went to my room. The next morning, I got ready early and went to the dining area. “Good morning Son.” Mom greeted. “Good morning Mom. Why aren’t you ready yet? You do remember we have to go to Farah’s house right?” I greeted and asked my Mom. “Son, stop acting like a child. Right now, you are going to go to your office and we will go to her house around evening.” Mom scolded me as if I am a schoolboy refusing to go to school. “Ok.” I grumbled and left for office. A while later, I came back home and took Mom to Farah’s house. “Mom, make sure to tell them that the marriage will be in 2-3 days. They do not need to do anything. I will take care of it.” I told my mother. “2-3 days?!?! What’s the hurry? They haven’t even agreed yet and here you are talking about the wedding.” Mom said. “Maximum one week. There is a lot of hurry. I will not wait any longer. I want her to be mine as soon as possible.” I informed Mom and she nodded reluctantly. I knew she wouldn’t be home as I’d appointed guards for her when she returned to Lahore. They kept me updated and her safe. If I hadn’t know that she was safe, I would not be able to sleep at night. We reached to her house and knocked on the door. A maid greeted us and escorted us to the living room. And after a few minutes, Mr. Sheikh came down to meet us. “Hello Mr. Sheikh.” I greeted. “Hell, please sit down. I’m sorry, but do we know each other?” He inquired. “I am Musa Ali Khan and this is my mother.” I answered. “Oh. Is there a problem that such a personality had to come?” He asked. This time, Mom answered,”There is no problem. We have come with a proposal for your daughter.” “What?!? She is just 18, not yet ready for marriage. Sorry for the disappointment.” Mr. Sheikh said curtly. Mom looked shocked. I know she was not expecting Farah to be that young. “Mr. Sheikh, if you are not ready for the wedding yet, then we can do the engagement.” Mom negotiated, making me look at her, unamused. Seeing my look, she reassured me with her eyes. So, I kept quiet. “Sorry, it is not about her getting married now or later. She says that she doesn’t want to get married, ever. I won’t force her into doing something she doesn’t want.” He spoke angrily. I was happy for her, that she had such a loving father. He did not decide to agree after hearing of my name and power. “We are not in a rush. You can think about it. You have until tomorrow.” I told him and left with my mom. We reached home in silence. “What do you think you are doing?” Mom asked exasperatedly. “What have I done now, Mom?” I asked her. “You took me to a girl’s house and did not bother to tell me that she was 18 and doesn’t ever want to get married. She is 7 years younger than you.” Mom shouted. “Mom, you know there is nothing to discuss. I have chosen her and I’m going to have her, one way or another. And the age difference is not a big deal, the age gap between you and Dad was 10 years.” I explained and she sighed, knowing that I wouldn’t back down on this.
