Chapter 5The first couple of days were fairly straightforward. Finn slept a lot—body healing itself, plus, Wes thought, the reprieve of being home, and some heavy-duty pain meds—and also did a lot of reading for fun and watching romantic comedies and nestling drowsily into Wes’s arms. Wes rescheduled a graduate seminar meeting, put one of the PhD candidates in charge of his larger undergraduate class for the week, and read an article on textile economics in late antiquity while Finn was napping against his shoulder. He’d done some advance cooking, spicy stews and chicken and whatever he’d been able to throw together and toss in the freezer while he couldn’t sleep. He wasn’t as imaginative as Finn in the kitchen, but he was decent enough, and he liked following directions, step by step. T
