I was more excited than I thought was possible at the prospect of going back to Zamee. I awoke early, peppering kisses all over Kai’s face. He rose with a wide grin and grabbed me with a playful growl.
I gasped as he rolled over on top of me and parted my legs with his knees.
“No, Kai,” I laughed, pushing him. “We are going home today.”
“I’ll be quick,” he insisted.
“After our first night together, I’m afraid you don’t know the meaning of the word,” I laughed.
He grumbled impatiently and I reached for his face and kissed him.
“My stars, you act as though you won’t have me in your bed tonight.”
He smiled at this and moved off of me begrudgingly. He held out his hand to me and I took it as he led me to the bathing chambers.
