Ch.13 Elizabeth “Get inside now!” he ordered me as he took off running. “No, wait!” I said running after him. “Sarah she’s in the front garden with the count.” “I’ll find her. Now go!” He said taking off again. I couldn’t just go running inside though I made my way to where the fighting was coming from. I saw that Kenna was about to get attacked from behind. “Kenna!” I shouted but it was too late. The wolf was going to take her down, but suddenly Thomas was there in a flash before the wolf had taken a swipe at Kenna. Thomas made quick work of the wolf in front of him. He didn’t see the other wolf though who had taken his opportunity to swipe at Thomas before he could shift. He hit Thomas hard in the chest and knocked him down. Kenna had killed off the wolf in front of her, and just as fast as Thomas had, she turned and took the wolf that had struck Thomas down. I ran over to Thomas who was on the floor with three deep gashes on his chest. Blood coming out at an alarming rate. “Elizabeth! Help him please!” Kenna said desperately but I was already working on it. “Cover us.” I told her knowing that others would be coming to attack. She got up as another wolf made its way over to us. I then allowed myself to heal him as quickly as I could. After a moment his eyes snapped back open and he frantically felt his chest. “Elizabeth!” He said coughing. “Shh, you’re going to be ok. Be more careful don’t let Kenna distract you she can take care of herself.” I told him in a rush. “How did you?” He said confused and daze. “Focus we are under attack, now get up and be careful.” I said trying to get him back in the battle. He gave his head a shake to clear it. “Ok I’m good.” “Thomas! Thank the godddes! Come on.” Kenna said pulling him up to hug him. More wolves started running up to us. “Go inside.” Thomas said as they prepared for the wolves coming towards them. I started to run towards the castle, but I was stopped dead in my tracks when I heard a blood curdling scream coming from the forest. Sarah. My heart raced there was no on around to get help from. I grabbed a dagger off one the people lying on the floor and ran towards the scream. I could hear commotion the deeper I ran into the forest. “Just leave her! She’s not the queen and she’s as good as dead!” A man’s voice said. I saw them behind the cover of a tree. They dropped Sarah on the ground, and I could see now that she was covered in blood. I resisted the urge to run straight to her and waited until they were out of sight. “I though you said she was wearing blue!” I heard one of the man say as they headed off. “Sarah?” I said running over to her and hoping she would respond. I dropped to the floor, and listened for breathing. Her breaths were coming out short and shallow, I could see now where the blood was coming from. They had torn her stomach open, and there was no way to stop the bleeding. “No no wake up!” I said desperately as I tried to heal her. I was taking too long had I been too late? Panic started to take over with every second that she didn’t wake up. Suddenly she took a deep breath and gasped for air. “Sarah!” I said breathless. “You’re ok.” I told her as she looked around panic in her eyes. I helped her sit up and she began to feel her stomach. “I… I...I was dead or dying….” She stammered her hands shaking and covered in the blood that had been coming out. “I know I know, just focus ok we have to get back to the castle.” I could tell I wasn’t getting through to her as her eyes were wide and she kept looking around and feeling at where her wounds had just been. “Sarah! Listen to me we have to go now. NOW!” I said pulling her up. I had a bad feeling creeping up on me and knew we had to get closer to home and the others. She got up and we started moving towards the castle. When we heard growling getting closer to us. “W-what’s that?” Sarah said panic in her voice. “Listen to me, you have to run. Shift and run. Don’t look back, just run.” She was looking back at where the growls were coming from. “Go! Go!” I said pulling her hand while we ran. She didn’t shift but she took off running. I was right behind her but suddenly felt winded as if I couldn’t catch enough air in my lungs. It felt as if my chest was on fire and a deep pain in my stomach had me doubling over. I grabbed onto a tree for support. I gasped for air trying to move forward. Damn it! I cursed as I tried to get my body to breathe and move forward. “Well what do we have here?” I heard the voice as the man came into my line of sight. “And to think we had almost taken off, when we caught your scent.” Another man said coming into view. “This is her right?” The other asked. “Yes, this is her.” The taller one responded moving towards me. All I could do was try to focus on not collapsing I had no chance of getting away. I felt myself being yanked up my hair and the taller one brought me closer to his face as he held me by my hair. “You’re coming back with us there is someone who is eager to see you.” He said with delight in his tone. “Come on, let’s go before someone comes looking for her.” The other one shifted his weight uncomfortably, he was afraid of being caught. “Fine let’s go.” He said roughly grabbing my arm to drag me forward. My mind was racing if they took me out of here I knew I was as good as dead. I managed to grab the dagger I had brought with me and used it to stab the one who was grabbing me in the chest. “Arghh! You b***h!” He said letting me go. I tried to run off but he grabbed my arm with his claws extended and threw me against a tree. My vision blurred and my head started spinning. I felt something sticky on my arm that was now burning, and I got the taste of copper in my mouth. What a stupid move I never had a chance with the two of them here and the state I was already in. “You know what, I think I’ll just finish you here. The Alpha wants you dead anyway.” With that I saw him shift into a huge grey wolf.
