Camilla's POV
I was so happy running around in wolf form because I told Rohan what I have been keeping to myself for weeks, it felt good to tell someone else especially if that particular someone had an experience or is having the same experience as you. What happened was that,
I found my mate a week ago before we had the training for the race, I met him in school because he was the new kid who transferred from London, I was so awkward around him before I remembered he didn't feel the same attraction I did because he was human, all my hopes were squashed in that minute because this was not how I envisioned meeting my mate. I was asked to show him around the school which was silent at first because of how tense I was but he finally loosened me up when he cracked a few Jokes making me laugh.
I became more excited to go to school every day because I got to see him every day, he was as handsome as his name, Mitchell. With his blonde hair and blue eyes, he looked like the ken to my Barbie. Over the week we became fast friends with the help of the bond which is disguises as an attraction for humans, he walked me to my class and sat with me in lunch every day and I still wasn't satisfied because there was a hole in my chest from carrying a secret from my best friend, Rohan. He is my brother but he has always been there for me including the awkward part and he never for once flipped out about it, we became closer and talked about almost everything in our lives and it felt really good to have told him what I have been going through. I knew he was disappointed because I didn't tell him earlier but he managed the situation by being calm, which is what I loved most about him, he was always calm which calmed me down too knowing he would look for a solution to help. I hated that he was in this situation with me considering he has stayed away from girls because like me he has dreamt for the day he would meet his mate but it felt good that my partner in crime was in it too. Rejection wasn’t an option because it would drive us crazy, we reached the porch to our home and we both hesitated on the porch because we were both scared of our parents, they were like bloodhounds. They wouldn't stop till they sniffed out the truth from us. I loved my parents but they could be a little too much and I couldn't handle them right now, not when I am an emotional mess.
Freaking out wasn't the best solution but I needed to hold off my emotions till we figured out a solution, running with Rohan seemed like the best idea now so I followed him to the woods to let out some steam. My wolf, ambrosia, was excited to be let out, she has been quite happy lately because of how much time she has been spending with Mitchell so she won't give me any trouble while running, unlike Rohan who by the looks of was struggling to rein in his wolf from taking over.
I tried to zero my mind from all the problems of the mating ritual, Rohan and I ran side by side, nudging each other's snout, we raced through the woods like we used to do when we were younger, chasing animals just for fun. We Finally Got to our favorite spot, the lake we used to play in it when we were pups, Rohan and I played till we were all dirty then we would come to wash off here. Afterward we will lie down and stare at the sky telling each other stories till dark.
We got to the lake and I jumped head first in the freezing water, Rohan snickered which sounded weird in wolf form, sounded like he was wheezing which made me laugh so loudly. I shifted to my human form just splashing around like a kid, Rohan just stood like a guard all serious like a bodyguard.
"Come on, jump into the water and cool off. I can see smoke coming out from your head" I called out to him but he just stood there with his back to me.
I splashed cold water on him to get his attention but he didn't pay any attention, the only way he could turn is if I fake an injury.
"Ow! My leg, it hurts!!! I whined, he turned immediately, rushing to my aid. He got so close to the bank so he could help me.
He growled lowly which meant I should come closer, so I trudged to the shallow part and when I was so close to him, I grabbed his wolf had and pulled him into the water, I laughed as loudly as he growled loudly indicating that he is pissed. I continued laughing till he started shaking water off his fur getting murky water all over me. Now it wasn't funny, he grinned wolfishly making me hiss at how my plan backfired...
We splashed around till the water got too cold so we changed into our clothes behind the tree, we always keep an emergency stash of clothes in case we ripped ours to shreds while shifting.
We laid down on the grass facing the sky like old times before we started brainstorming on how to get out of the rot we got ourselves into.
“What are we going to do?" I asked him
"I really don't know, Camille. I mean I didn't realize we would be in this situation" he said lowly
I knew what he meant because we learnt in werewolf history class that it was frowned upon to have a human.
"How on earth were we going to handle this?
