"Stop mum! It hurts!" He flinched as he was hit a couple more times with a flip flop and I just sat back and watched. At least he was smart enough to not try and stop her. "You are going to repeat what you just said and if I hear the same words Elliot-" "Okay mum. Please just sit and listen to the whole story. Over by dad and please put your sandal back on." He begged and stood, keeping his hands to himself and I just watched Immie sit down and he waited until her feet were both flat on the floor. "I kill the bad men and women of our race who prey on certain types of humans. Those who prey on children and different races... or even gender." "Who tells you to do this?" Immie asked and Eli gulped. "In World War I became a soldier. And every war since I have been in the worst of places because I know I can survive. And last war I was in.... I was a sniper and after I quit a couple years ago I was offered a role for a very moral rich man who would give me evidence of vampires being less than secret or using their powers as a vampire horrifically. I kill bad vampires." He put it out there, looking down and finally up at the two of us, gauging our reaction and I stayed as still as possible. "And what kind of horrid people have you killed?" Immie asked and I gulped and waited. "Child molesters, the vampires trying to raise an army to take over the human world. Those trying to create an army to kill off all wolves... vampires who kill for sport and not to just feed. Rapists who can get away with it. Anyone I find in the morally wrong." He told us and I gulped and waited some more. "I have never killed without reason and I never will." "You're a killer of your own kind." Immie hiccuped and I leaned forward and waited as Eli tried not to blow his top. "I was a human before I was ever a vampire. I protect others. And I will not feel guilty about any of it." I felt Immies eves narrow on me and I just looked from her to our son before leaning forward. "And who pays you? How do you know you can trust him or her?" I wanted to know, because if I knew and trusted the person then there would be no objections on my end. "His name is Ryan McCoy. He was turned back when he was a Viking. He has a high moral code, just like I do, just like you both do." Eli explained more, about how he got proof and how he would also see things for himself if there wasn't enough proof. "I've never heard of this man." Immie looked to me at her declaration and I stood. "Neither have I. But if you see things and you have proof and they are doing-" "Jesse!" Immie cut me off and I sighed. "I would like to talk to him, we could use his sort of help finding out who is doing this to us." I gave Immie a look and she sighed and seemed to think about what had happened to not only her but both our boys. "Invite him to dinner." Imogene states, leaving no room for argument as she turned and stomped out of my office leaving Eli and I alone. "Invite him to the estate. We're going to head there for better protection anyway. We can't all survive in these short quarters for too much longer." I told Eli and he nodded once but still stayed still. "What? What is it?" "I don't want anyone even Jr. to know about this dad. Not even Lina." He advised and I clenched my jaw but nodded. "I won't tell a soul. And I will tell your mother not to as well." I worked my body into standing now and moved to get a little whiskey before handing him one. "You okay dad?" He asked as I took my two fingers in one go. "Not everyday you find out your son kills people." I grabbed his shoulder and gave it a quick squeeze before walking out. "I didn't mean to disappoint you with-" "You have never disappointed me in your very long life. Surprise me yes, something that seems to keep happening with you. First a werewolf mate and now you're a trained killer." I gave a small laugh and pulled him into a hug. "As far as sons go, I couldn't have asked for a better one." I gave his temple a quick kiss and let him go, he almost seemed to tear up before his eyes turned slightly hard and he nodded behind me. I turned quick and saw Jr. glaring at the both of us, his eyes red and his fangs had dropped before he turned and stomped away. "Why does he act like that?" I muttered and shook my head before contemplating actually going after the boy. "He just needs time to cool off dad." Eli told me and I worked my jaw. "I don't see what he has to be angry about. He cut me out of his life a long time ago." I told Eli and shook my head before walking away "Jess?" I heard Aaron call out when I passed them. "I'm just going out for a bit. Feel free to stay or leave." I called out fast and got my jacket before me car keys and just took the elevator quickly down to my car level. I unlocked my car and sat in the driver seat for just a few moments thinking of where I wanted to go, and then I realized I might as well start making the estate presentable so I set out to drive the half hour through pack lands I was now able to be on no matter what time of day, and kept driving until I got to my estate in Ohio. 12 rooms, huge kitchen, three different offices for my past 3 degrees and jobs. Each room had its own bathroom plus one downstairs with just a toilet and sink. I bought it when the pack Aaron was apart of had a small over lap. A couple teens had to move in to a different place as they added on for a while, the pack didn't want to put anyone out, so I offered out a solution. I was granted some sort of leeway into the pack and after a while when everyone sort of knew me and respected me before basically granting me some sort of honorary pack member. I pulled into the four car garage and stepped out, putting my passcode in quickly and getting the keys to the front door and garage door leading into the house. I made my way in and started to check up on the cleaning needed and started to make a list of things I would need to bring from my condo. I drank more whiskey and sat alone for a long time before I heard soft footsteps coming into my dark room. "Pouting or sulking?" Aaron asked as she pulled back the covers and got into bed with me. "Jr over heard me telling Eli that I was more proud of him than any father was of a son. He glared and seemed angry but he has no right to be." I told her and she sighed and settled before licking her lips and waiting. "What did Jesse Jr. do?" "I think his exact words were 'what kind of help would I get from my fag of a father'." I told her and gulped, the pain still so fresh even after 500 years. "What did you do?" She asked me, almost in tears and I gulped and looked over at her. "I was a different man back then. So repressed and angry." I told her and shook my head. It hurt to think back to what I was like and think about things I did. "He spat those words at me and I lost my temper. We fought until he was almost dead. Imogene was so worried he was going to die. She screamed at me and took care of him. That's when she and I decided I couldn't keep being her husband. We had a long talk and she told me to go and be myself and be happy." "Where was Eli?" "He hates when we fought. Never knew whose side to take. When I left, he came with me, but when we got to the new world he became so adventurous and I told him that he could do whatever he desired. And he kept in contact with me every week or so by mail before we advanced to every months, and then it was every year... and finally every other year and then every 5.... so on. He got so used to his new freedom and so did I. We saw each other for a night one year, in the roaring 20's and he was so happy alone." "But what happened to Imogene and Jr?" "Imogene and he got into something I called a cult. More like a coven. They couldn't talk to people outside the coven. And after years we really did lose contact because of them. And I believe Imogene left after about 300 years and Jr is the right hand of the king of the coven." I told her and shrugged before sighing and laying back even more. "Why are you out here?" She asked me after a long silence. "Because any longer in that condo and we'll be fighting all over again. We're going to head out this way and have one of Eli's contacts help us find out who is trying to get back at me... or rather us." I told her and she laid down all the way and moved to hug me tight. "I love you no matter if your a dad, or a husband to a wife... and I have loved you even though I knew you were gay the second we met." She snuggled me and held me tight and sighed before giggling. "Just tell me right now if there's a butch sister coming out of the woodworks or a Viking father." She told me and I laughed. "No more surprises coming from me Air. Promise."
