Coming home

We arrived back at the packhouse, and I was relieved to be finally home with my Litte Boy. My mum greeted us at the door, with Eric all snuggled up. I ran to them and gave mum and Eric a big hug. When I stepped back from the hug, I noticed my mum had tears in her eyes. What’s up, mum and she smiles and says, happy birthday, but that’s not until tomorrow I tell my mum. She brushed me off and said nonsense, and showed me her phone. Yep, sure enough, it was midnight. I was officially 18. I gave my mum a bright smile and said, maybe I’ll find my mate, and he will be everything I need in a mate. Mum and dad both hugged me and said, you can come home now. I grab eric from his crib and bounce downstairs to the kitchen to see my sister sitting with Greg laughing and talking. I run to her and pop eric in her lap. and give her a big hug. Chris, you made it. Are you sure your pack will be ok tonight? Chris laughs and says, good, yes, and Dan has the group under control. I sigh a relief my sister is the Luna of the solstice moon pack. I sit next to Chris, and Greg serves me up breakfast. We settle into a light conversation and some teasing, then Chris hands eric to Greg and pulls me to my room and sits me down at the dresser to start getting me ready for tonight.
