*** Dylan’s POV *** * Jamie stepped out of the car with another girl and her best friend, the guy she was with yesterday, and they all looked at me curiously. “Hello.” I greeted them with my best smile and the girl who was with them blushed a deep shade of red. Wait, now that I look at the three of them, all of them were blushing, even the guy. ‘Yeah, we have that effect on humans.’ Boris said c*ckily and I needed to agree with him. “Hi handsome.” The guy said with a wink while smiling at me and after a few seconds of checking me out, which left me totally uncomfortable, he dragged the stunned girl inside, leaving me and Jamie alone. “Hi.” Jamie said timidly, she seemed a bit nervous. “Are you nervous about the fight?” I asked her as I stepped closer to her and inhaled her delicious scent. I wanted to touch her so badly, but I needed to remind myself all the time to slow down. Baby steps. “Hmm… not really. I beat her once, so I think it will be okay.” She said confidently and I felt proud of her. She was so strong as a human, physically and mentally as well. I wonder what she went through in her life to be like that. “I will cheer for you,” I said, and led her inside by putting my hand on her lower back. She jumped a little from the tingles and looked at me like a deer caught in the headlights. She was f*cking beautiful. “You will get used to it.” I whispered close to her ear and I felt her shudder under my touch. “Okay.” She just said softly. She was strangely quiet today. I dare say she was even shy and I smiled to myself at the thought. “I will take my seat, see you in the ring. Beat her a*s, little tigress.” I winked at her when we reached the changing rooms and she blushed as she nodded her head and hurried inside, which made me let out a laugh. ‘She is damn cute.’ Boris said, and I totally agreed with him. I was glad Boris liked her too, even though she didn’t have a wolf he could connect with. ‘She is the cutest little thing.’ I said proudly, and went to find a seat close to the ring to have a good view. “Hi, Dylan. Did you come to see me?” I heard that annoying voice and I turned to the left to see that girl walking up to me while swaying her hips more than was necessary. “Hi….” I trailed off. Suddenly, I didn't remember her name. “Imogen.” She said. She was a bit annoyed because I forgot her name. “Oh, yeah. I am here to see someone else.” I told her indifferently and she looked taken aback. “We just had fun the other day, but that was it. I told you. Anyway, I found my mate.” I told her. I felt it necessary to clear the air before she could make any more trouble between Jamie and I. “Oh, I see.” She said disappointedly. “Well, have a nice life then.” She said. She was clearly disappointed and I nodded my head at her before she walked away, towards the changing rooms. I hope she won’t bother me ever again. Anyway, it was stupid of me to think that a good f*ck would distract me from thinking of my mate. I totally regretted it. ‘She wasn’t even a good f*ck.’ Boris remarked, and I nodded my head in agreement. I saw Jamie walking up to the ring and climbing in behind that girl, Imogen. She looked at me briefly to wave with a sweet smile on her face and my heart skipped a beat. She actually smiled at me, but my happiness was short-lived when I noticed Imogen’s expression after she saw our little exchange and now she was looking at Jamie with raised eyebrows. She didn’t look happy at all as she looked at me and shook her head disdainfully. The fight started and Jamie was phenomenal. I couldn’t help but cheer for her. She made me so proud to fight so well against an actual werewolf as a human. Jamie beats her a*s for the second time. My chest filled with pride again when I saw how capable she really was, until ... Imogen sent her flying with a powerful kick suddenly. ‘That b*tch was using her wolf’s strength.’ Boris growled and I stood up right away. He was right as Jamie was still on the ground, moaning from pain. “Don’t cheat, Imogen.” I growled at her, making sure no one else heard me and she f*cking winked at me. It was against werewolf rules to use your abilities against humans. Especially in a situation like this. My hands were in fists as I was watching Jamie trying to stand up while holding her side where Imogen kicked her. She managed to stand up and, as nothing happened, she continued fighting. She had stamina, that’s for sure, but I was worried about her and mad at that b**ch for hurting her. Jamie was clearly the better fighter and the match would have been done a long time ago if Imogen wouldn’t have cheated. Just when the ring went off, signalling the end of the first round, Jamie turned to walk to the corner of the ring, but Imogen hit her hard from behind and she fell forward. “WHAT THE HELL?” I shouted, and at first I didn’t realise that Boris was on the surface, so our voices were mixed into the sentence. People were staring at me in shock, but I didn’t care. I went straight at the girl who hurt my little mate. “Dylan… wait.” She looked at me in panic as she tried to stop me, but I didn’t care about what she had to say. I saw red so I just grabbed her neck with one hand and lifted her up from the ground. “You will f*cking die for this, b*tch.” I threatened her and it was hard to hold Boris back at that point. Humans tried to take her out of my hold, but they had no chance against me, an Alpha. “Dylan, man. Calm the f*ck down.” Jacob appeared and managed to get me to let the girl go. As soon as she fell to the ground, coughing, I looked around in panic to check if Jamie was okay. When our eyes met, she was sitting in the corner with her friends around her while all of them were looking at me with a shocked expression on their faces. “Jamie?” I wanted to walk up to her, but she just held her hand up in panic and backed away even more. She was f*cking afraid of me and that broke my heart into little pieces. “Come on bro, we gotta go.” Jacob said hurriedly and started to drag me away and out of the place. Nobody dared to stop us. They were afraid of me after what they witnessed. “What the hell was that?” He asked when we reached the parking lot and I just made my way to my car hurriedly. “Wait, man.” He insisted. “What are you even doing here?” I asked him. “Sera said that you would be here. What the hell is going on, man?” He asked in confusion and I was seething. “That m*therf*cker b*tch hit her from behind after the round ended. She f*cking cheated and she was using her wolf’s strength as well.” I shouted and he just looked at me in confusion. “Imogen?” He asked , but I didn’t have time for that. “I am going to talk to Alpha Jeremy. Get in the car if you wanna come.” I said and got into the driver's seat without waiting for his reply. He hurriedly got in next to me and buckled in. “Alright, man. You gotta calm down and tell me what the f*ck just happened.” He said and I let out a sigh. “I found our mate.” I told him. “No sh*t Sherlock, but who is that?” He asked while he rolled his eyes. “Jamie. The girl Imogen was fighting with,” I said, and he looked at the road in confusion. “What? Just now? She was fighting with a human girl.” He said and I nodded my head. “Yeah, she is your Luna, my friend.” I told him just so he wouldn’t say something that he would regret later. “Oh, F*ck.” he paled and I nodded my head. “She was winning against Imogen, just like she beat her up last time as well, but Imogen couldn’t have it. She used her wolf’s strength to win the fight this time. THAT F*CKING B*TCH. I will f*cking kill her.” I shouted while I had a hard time holding Boris back from shifting. “What? But that’s against the law,” he said in disbelief. “Why the f*ck do you think we are heading to her Alpha? I am going to kill that stupid b*tch with my own hands if he doesn’t.” I told him, still shaking. “You can’t talk to the Alpha like that. Let me go and explain the situation to him first.” Jacob said, and he was right. I was too angry to talk to another Alpha calmly right now. I didn’t want to cause more problems. “Alright. Go and talk to him. I will wait in the car.” I said as I parked the car in the front of his packhouse. Since we were allies, the guards knew which pack we were from, so they let us pass the border without a problem and informed their Alpha, so he was already waiting for us in front of the building. I just buried my face in my palms and tried to calm myself and Boris, while I saw Alpha Jeremy nodding his head as Jacob was explaining to him what one of his pack-members did. Then I saw the Alpha starting to walk towards the car, so I got out, still mad, and started to pace back and forth to calm myself. “Alpha Dylan.” He said with a smile. “It’s a pity that I see you in a situation like this. How are your parents?” He asked. He was a good man, a friend of my parents, so our pack had a good relationship. “Hello, Alpha Jeremy. My parents are good, thank you.” I tried to collect my thoughts and control my anger. “Sorry for coming here unannounced, but there was a situation.” I told him and he nodded his head. “Your friend told me what happened and I am very sorry about the incident. I can assure you that I will take her to the front of the council myself to get her punishment.” He said and that wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to see her bleed out in my hands, but that was not the legal way of things. “Thank you, Alpha, and please make sure she doesn’t cross my or my mate’s path again, otherwise I don’t know if I can hold myself back from ripping her to shreds.” I told him seriously and he nodded his head in understanding. “Alright. I will make sure you don’t see her ever again.” He said, and I nodded my head. “We welcome you anytime for lunch or dinner if you have some time.” I told him, starting to calm down. “Thank you, Alpha Dylan. I will make sure to come at this time,” he said with a chuckle. My parents invited him a lot of times, but he always declined. They said he changed after he needed to wait for his mate for a long time, and since then he has been kind of locked up in his pack with his family, too afraid to let them out of his sight. Poor man, but after today, I could understand him. It was so hard to see my mate get hurt. I almost went berserk. We said goodbye to Alpha Jeremy and drove back to the club to get Jacob’s car. Just when I pulled up in the parking lot, I saw Jamie leaving with her friends, holding her side with a painful expression on her face. My anger and worry came back in an instant and I got out of the car while ignoring Jacob’s protests. “Jamie, are you okay?” I ran up to her and she backed away with a scared expression on her face, along with her friends who were escorting her. It felt like a punch in my gut and I stopped in my tracks. “Don’t come closer, Dylan.” She said in a shaking voice. “What the hell was that earlier?” She asked and hissed from the pain, which made me clench my fists at my side, but I knew that I couldn’t lose my sh*t in the front of them, not again. “She cheated and I got mad when she hit you like that.” I explained and she scoffed. “Yeah, but you can’t attack her like that. She is a woman for god’s sake. Things happened, but what was that act? Your voice and the growls?” She asked with a confused expression on her face and I didn’t know what to say. “You lifted her in the air with one hand, damn it.” She said and I was just looking down on my shoes. I felt like when I was small and mom was scolding me. “I have never lifted a finger at a woman before. I was just too worried and mad at her for hurting you.” I said quietly and she let out a sigh while the girl and the guy let out an ‘awww’. “Whatever. Let’s just go, guys.” She said and they started to walk towards their car. “Wait, are you mad at me now?” I asked her and she let out a sigh again and turned to me. Her friends got into the car and I dared to take a few steps closer to her. I was so afraid she would back away again. “I don’t know what to think anymore, Dylan. You are a mystery to me, a f*cking aggressive mystery and I don’t know if I want to get involved.” She said honestly and my heart almost stopped beating. She thought I was aggressive. ‘Luckily, she doesn’t know how to reject us.’ Boris whimpered in my head because of her words and that didn’t help the situation at all. “Ughum…” Jacob cleared his throat after getting out of the car and walking up to us. “Hello Luna.” The id*ot said excitedly and bowed his head in front of her. “I am glad to meet you. I am Dylan’s best friend.” He said sheepishly and Jamie just looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. “My name is Jamie.” She said disdainfully and shook her head in disbelief, while she was looking at me disappointedly and went to sit in the car quickly. “Wait, Jamie.” I shouted after them, but they just drove away. “F*cking great.” I said frustratedly as I threw my hands into the air. “What did I say wrong?” Jacob asked with a confused expression on his face and I smacked the back of his head. “She is a human, you f*cking id*ot. What do you think she would think if you called her by another woman’s name?” I asked him and his face transformed as the realisation hit him. “Sh*t.”
