When he reached the dock, the guard stood aside and in unison thrust upright spears forward as he passed. The last row of guards stood aside leaving Asmunet and Kahina face to face with the great chief. The imperious aura melted when he saw Kahina standing in front of her husband.
“Kahina?” he said, “Is it you?”
“Yes, uncle,” she said, “I have come home for a visit.” She stepped forward and took the hand of her uncle and kissed it.
Pimay smiled at Asmunet. “I see you have acquired many ships, nephew,” he said.
“Yes Uncle,” said Asmunet, “But they are yet filled with Canaanites.”
