“Were you waiting for me?”
Ross asked again and Diana tried her best to see over his shoulder and look in to the office. She wished to get a glimpse of Adrian but so far, she didn’t have any luck locating the apple of her eyes.
But she was having a hard time looking over her father’s shoulder, given to his tall and shrouding height, that completely blocked Diana’s view, who was barely five two back then.
“I asked you something!”
Ross stated again, this time his tone being loud and assertive and Diana startled and shook up, listening to Ross’s daunting voice.
She knew that voice and that tone all too well.
Ross always used that tone and voice with Diana, especially when he was about to hit her.
She didn’t want to be smacked or chastised by her father at the mansion, because she assumed that it would be too humiliating for her and she wouldn’t want Adrian to see her in such a meek and feeble position, where she was being beaten up and she would be helpless.
She assumed that Adrian would start to loath her and resent her if she saw her in such a pathetic situation.
She believed that she had taken a big risk of presenting herself to Adrian in such an audacious manner and took the biggest risk of her life, which perhaps may have made Adrian like her.
She believed that her boldness to always flutter around her was what made Adrian realize that she was strong and worthy of his love.
If he saw her getting thrashed like a pulp by her own father, she would be seen as a meek girl and it scared her to the core.
Diana that’s why only nodded back at her father and Ross then grabbed her arm and began pulling her along with him.
He then dragged her out of the mansion and took her along back to the home.
“Just prepare the dinner and you are not allowed to leave the house for the night.”
Ross daunted Diana as he took her back home in his car and as Diana felt worried and sorrowful over the fact that she couldn’t get to meet or see Adrian, the man in question on the other hand, stood behind the doors of the office somehow feeling guilty for an oblivious reason.
When he was leaving the office, he stopped and realized that just like always Diana would definitely be on the other side, probably waiting to see him and that was something that was a part of her routine.
She would usually do it and wait just to get a glimpse of Adrian but pretend that she was waiting for her father.
Adrian knew all too well that Diana always waited just to see him and a part of him also enjoyed the attention that Diana gave him but he somehow felt ashamed that day.
He didn’t want to see Diana because he knew that the situation would be different.
That time around, things weren’t just a matter of a one sided crush.
He had turned that crush in to reciprocated feeling in an inadvertent manner and made things definitely cumbersome for his own self.
He knew that Diana expected him to love her back and she wouldn’t be wrong for that, as he had let his s*x hormones take control of him and turn things incredibly fractious for his own self.
Because he may had crossed a line to lead Diana on, but he still wasn’t ready to face the reality and face the music.
For even though he took Diana’s virginity, all the while assuring her that he wanted her but he didn’t clarify that things for him were not just one sided but meant for just one night.
He was horny and he led her own just for his own good.
And he wasn’t just ready to give her back all that she expected from him because he was already back with Chloe.
That’s why when he was about to leave the office, he stood back and lied to Ross.
Ross watched as Adrian held his steps and tapped on his shoulders, standing only slightly behind him.
“What happened? Aren’t you going to leave?”
Adrian turned back and shook his head.
“No! actually, I have to look for some books. Why don’t you go ahead first?”
He offered to his mentor, who moved out of the office nonchalantly and met with his own daughter and Adrian on the other hand, stood behind the door listening to the conversation between Ross and Diana, as a meek coward because he just wasn’t ready to face the truth.
