I had never been to his office before. In all these years of togetherness, I never got a chance to visit his office. The whole building stood tall looming over the others, and disappearing into the clouds. Holy hell.
Sam motioned for me to walk before him. Although the receptionist at the front tried to stop me but the minute Sam emerged behind me and told me I am Rafe's Fiancee, she politely smiled at me before getting back to her work.
The elevator pinged at the topmost floor, which looked over the whole city. Wall length windows gave the view of the beautiful sky. But at that nothing seemed beautiful to me. I was here at a mission, a mission to Put Rafe in his place. He had done enough damage. My friend who wasn't even at fault got beaten up just because he kissed me. Rafe seriously was f****d up.
The floor was deserted with just an empty desk, and Sam pointed to the dark oak door that stood tall, almost diminishing the courage I had gathered throughout the way.
With a clenched jaw, I swung the door open with full force, before stepping inside. My eyes landed on the pair of charcoal grey eyes that always were my undoing.
My eyes narrowed at the bimbo that stood near his desk, with nothing but a kid's frock that showed almost her plastic boobs. Luna had a look of shock on her face but was quick to replace it with a cough. At the far corner stood Rafe's secretary with a file in his hand.
"Valenie? Where is Sam?" Rafe stood up from his chair and rounded his table with a frown etched to his forehead, he came forward to wrap his arms around me when I backed up with a hand towards him, stopping him.
I scoffed. Before I had a chance to speak Luna spoke up.
"Rafe we were discussing something very important. Tell your slut of a fiancee to leave us alone."
That was it. That was where I drew a line. Walking up to her, I raised my hand and slapped her hard, right on her face. My hand stung but the peace that ran through my body was worth it.
She had shock written all over her face before it turned that of pure rage. She charged for me with her fingers clawed out, but Rafe took a hold of her neck and slammed her onto the nearest wall.
"Don't you dare? DON'T YOU DARE!" He yelled right at her face. "She's my f*****g Fiancee Luna. Don't. Ever. Disrespect. Her." He gritted out his hand tightening around her throat.
"Now enough with your bullshit. Tell your f*****g father the contract is terminated he can shove that pathetic plan up his ass." He stated coldly, before jerking away from her as if her mere touch disgusts him.
She had tears of embarrassment rolling down her eyes before she did the walk of shame, disappearing from our sights.
Rafe took a deep breath before gesturing his secretary to leave. It was now him and me in the room with silence overruling every sound in the room.
"Why are you here? Your classes finished early?" He asked as he sat on the edge of the desk.
As he mentioned classes, I remembered his wrongdoings.
Marching over to where he sat, I grabbed the collar of his creased less formal white shirt and jerked him close.
"You cannot see me happy for once right?" I seethed, looking him dead in the eye, we both were startled at the sudden confidence that shot through me. "You had to go and ruin everything for me? Can't you see me happy ha? Why?" I punched his chest and continued raining punching at his chest.
"You're such a hypocrite Rafe! You almost killed my friend just because he kissed me on the cheek, whereas you are still having a very important meeting with your w***e of an ex. You are nothing but a controlling piece of s**t who just loves to spoil everyone's happiness."
"I am sure you must have f****d her the years I was gone," I shouted at the top of my lungs. "You just want girls to f**k Rafe, to satisfy your hunger, to play with them. Their feelings never matter to you just like mine. You claim to love me but your so-called love does nothing but chokes me." I yelled at his face.
He looked dumbstruck. His eyes seemingly calculative. He was contemplating on what to answer.
"You disgust me." I spat before pushing myself away from him.
"Val..."
"Not a word Rafe not a word!" I snapped with my finger in the air.
"Jeremy is gay and so is Garry. They were in a relationship for f***s sake." I was pissed beyond control.
"I know." He looked away, not meeting my eyes.
"And what did you do? You beat the s**t out of him?" I asked with raised eyebrows.
"You go after men who touches me and expect me to be cool with you having very important meetings with your ex?" I asked him.
"You don't have an answer. That is right. I too didn't have an answer when Garry told me that Jeremy is fighting death." I dug my pointer finger on his chest. "Just because you can not see me happy with my friends." Tears kept rolling down but I did not wipe them away. "I am so done with you Rafe.."
He had his head hung low. "I am sorry. I just saw red when he kissed you."
"Keep your apologies to yourself Rafe." I snapped. "I am not the person you owe an apology to. Take me to the hospital and you are going to apologize to both Jeremy and Garry." I ordered.
His eyes widened. "Valenie..."
"If you won't apologize, I swear to God I will leave you." I sternly said.
His hands shot up to grab my arms and turned me to face him. "I will do anything you want but never, I repeat never ever speak about leaving." He gritted out each word with equal sternness.
And before I could respond, his lips came crashing down on mine, shutting me up.
