Chapter Two

Listening to the disgusting men holler and whistle at me made me want to murder them all. How low could a man be to purchase a female wolf to use for his pleasure? It made me freaking sick. Kali growled at them all, feeling the same way I was feeling right now.            “The bidding starts at $50,000,” Callum stated.            Seriously? Most of the other women that I was forced to listen being sold off, sold for anywhere between $50,000 to $100,000. The bets with them all started at $10,000 so why was my bid starting at $50,00? I assumed it had to do with the fact that Callum thought I was some special wolf because of my rare color. The thing was that I was like any other wolf just a different color. The only thing different about me compared to other females was that I was ruthless. I didn’t particularly enjoy killing others but if it meant my life or theirs it was no question in my mind what I had to do to survive.            As the bids were being placed I happened to notice that there were five rooms along the wall opposite of me. They were blacked out so I couldn’t see inside but it made me wonder if there were more men on the other side of that glass.            My question was answered when Callum spoke. “$100,000 from the man in room one. Going once, going twice…”            I forced myself to stop listening after that because the bidding kept going on. We paced around the small room. Kali started howling loudly wishing this torture would end already. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------                                                                                         **Marcel**            She was the most stunning wolf I had ever laid my eyes on. My job was to come here and buy a rouge to serve her purpose as being our packs maid. If only my alpha, my brother, could see this beautiful creature before me he would use her for much more than being a simple maid. The alpha of my pack was also my older brother and I was his beta. For the past year, he has been miserable and it showed in his leadership. A plan formed in my mind. What if I bought her for him? Not only to use as our maid but to use for himself. Of course, he would have to share with the rest of the members of our pack.            We were a pack consisting of all men. The only reason we did it that way was to become one of the strongest packs of our generation. It seemed to work up until recently. The alpha watched as countless members of our pack found their mates and went off to live their lives together. His number one rule was to never deny your mating bond. If any rules were to be broken, that one was his most solid. If it was broken, your fate would become death. It was disgraceful to him for a wolf to refuse something so precious.            I hit the red button placed in front of me in my tiny glass room.            One of the event helpers made his way into my room. “Sir, is there anything I can get you before we close up for the night?”            “Get me another whiskey, make it a double this time.”            He scurried out the room clearly hearing of my reputation. I was my brother's beta but I did not follow his rules. I enjoyed my life as it was. Sitting alongside my brother making other packs fall to their knees before us. No woman was going to come into my life and mess that up for me. Plus, I got to sleep with any woman I saw fit. If I were to find my mate it would change everything and I refused to let that happen.            When the helper returned with my drink I gulped it down, hitting my button once again. The bid was now up to $300,000. So much money for one little wolf. Watching her pace back in forth in her confined room made me think of all the possibilities I could to do her. A rogue wolf such as her could keep up with me and make for a remarkably interesting time. I had to have her no matter how much it cost me.            The bid was still going strong at $500,000. I had enough of this s**t. This rogue was mine. I hit the call button on the side of my chair and in walked one of Callum’s men.            “Tell him I place a bid of one million dollars. I want this bidding war over with already. I wish to take my prize home.”            His man appeared by his side a few minutes later whispering in his ear.            “Well, gentlemen we have a guest who has placed a bid of one million dollars. I will give you one minute to place a bid higher than that of one million. The timer starts now.”            Uh, this was testing my patience. No one else in this filthy place was going to pay one million for that rogue and he knew it just as much as I did. He was only delaying time that I could be spending with her right now.            “Your one-minute limit has passed with no other bids set in place. Congratulations Marcel, this rogue is yours for one million!”            It annoyed me to no end that he used my name like that in front of all these different packs. Some of them were aligned with us and some were enemy packs.            “This concludes our event this evening. If you won a rogue one of my men will be with you shortly to show you were to complete the transaction. Have a fantastic evening.” He stepped down and walked off the stage.            It took a total of thirty minutes for one of his men to come in and get me. My patience was running thin with Callum tonight. I stood and followed the man out into the hallway. He took a right and I followed him down another long hallway before he stopped at a door on the right.            “Callum will see you now.” He held open the door for me.            As I stepped in Callum was holding out his hand for me to shake. I walked over to the desk pretending I was going to take his hand then as I did I threw him up against the wall.            “If you ever so much as breathe my name out loud like that again I will make sure you no longer can speak.” I let him go as he dropped to the ground.            “I’m sorry if I offended you, sir. It will not happen again,” he said as he cast his eyes down.            “I’ve already wired you the money, now take me to my wolf.”            “Certainly sir.” He stood and led me out of the room telling his men that he was okay from there and to stay back. As we were walking, he proceeded to speak to me again. “I must warn you that this rogue is a bit more dangerous than the others. She held her own against a few of my men upon her capture.”            I turned to face him making him crash into my chest. “Are you questioning my ability to handle this wolf?”            “No sir. I thought I would just give you as much background on her as possible.”            “Continue then,” I said while turning and walking again.            “The only thing we were able to find out about her is that she was from the Midnight Pack. We don’t even know her name, sir.”            Um. That is interesting indeed. The Midnight Pack which ultimately ended in them being murdered by an unknown enemy pack. All I knew about the story was that there were no survivors.            We reached the door that held my wolf behind it. Callum opened the door and we were faced with her running toward us still in her wolf form. She tackled Callum to the ground while digging her teeth into his neck. She quickly turned to me and lunged in the air but I caught her by the throat.            “You may be strong, rogue but not nearly as strong as I am. It would do you some good to remember that.”             I let her go but she lunged at me again. I had no other choice. I landed a hard blow with my elbow to her face. She whimpered while shaking her head. When she looked back up at me I saw her eyes change color. They went from this beautiful hazel color to a dark clouded blue. That was unheard of in wolves. The stories about us being able to change eye color based on our mood was ridiculous and just a myth. This was the first time I had ever begun to question that myth. She barred her teeth at me while snapping in the air. That blow should have knocked her on her ass. I’ll give her credit where it is due, she was stronger than the average female rogue.             “Callum get your ass up. I need you to have one of your men to go to my vehicle and get the chains from the back.”             He sat up holding his neck that was bleeding profusely. “Chains aren’t going to hold this wolf.”             “They are enchanted with a spell. Just get the f**k up and do it!” I snapped at him.             He scurried down the hall while I stood in front of him to protect him while he did what I asked. I continued to fight her off until he returned with the chains. When he got back, he threw the chains at me while keeping a safe distance away from the rogue. I inched toward her while she stood her ground. Even with these chains in my hand, she still didn’t stand down. Oh, I was going to have my hands full with this one.             It took multiple attempts to get the main chain around her neck. I even endured some gashes to my arms and chest from her claws. Once the chain was around her neck she let out a painful howl that shook my bones. Knowing that it was caused by the enchanted chains, I turned my head to give her some privacy as the chains would turn her back to human form. I used my finger to make a twirling movement to Callum. He also forced himself to turn away from her.             “Callum, get her some clothes, please. Make sure you have one of your w****s come in and do it. I don’t want any many looking at what now belongs to me.”             “Yes sir.” He again scurried from the room.             “My name is Marcel. I am beta of Onyx Crest Pack.” I waited for her response but she kept silent. “Seeing as how you just cost me one million dollars, I’m sure we can find a way for you to repay me and my pack. Today is your lucky day rogue.”             “Lucky? You considered being auctioned off to a bunch of greedily hungry men is lucky?”             Her soft-spoken voice surprised me. Considering her ruthless nature, I expected the tone in her voice to be a bit harsher. The door opened and in walked one of Callum’s mistresses. She walked right over to the rogue and placed her clothes on the ground.             When she walked by me she stopped until she was directly beside me. “I provided her with a dress that is easy to step into so the chain around her neck will not need to be moved. Callum had to attend to his wound and said if you needed anything else, you know how to contact him.” She then walked out the door leaving me alone with my prize.             “Are you dressed?”             “No, I prefer to be naked.”             I let a small laugh escape my lips. “And why is that?”             “I’m a wolf it is in my nature. Why should I be ashamed of that?”             “You shouldn’t but I think for this particular adventure you will want clothes. See my pack is full of nothing but men. We have no women so unless you want to be f****d over three hundred times before even making it through the front doors, I think you will want to get dressed.”
