Chapter 7 As the weeks passed, Griffin grew more confident that he was closing in on success and despondent that it hadn’t happened yet. He’d never felt the pressures of any sort of timetable while theorizing about optical sciences, but he’d never felt the need to shove a breakthrough in Laura Bunting’s face before. He carefully wrote every idea down in his black notebook, including his many failures and minor successes. Dr. Cuss occasionally asked him how he was progressing while he worked in class with Kegan on mundane assignments, but he had very little to report.
