Harley Greene has been kidnapped by a mob boss and betrayed by her cousin. She calls for help, but instead of a guardian angel, a demon named Silas comes to her rescue. However, the rescue comes with a price: her soul.

Now Silas's slave, she must help him in his pursuit for revenge. Things aren't so simple though. Silas has made enemies with the angels and as Harley starts to develop special powers, they won't stop for anything to kill her. And on top of that, a mysterious killer keeps running into Harley—a beautiful woman named Bren—and each time they meet sparks fly.

As her attraction to Silas grows and her lust for Bren doesn't fade, Harley must choose a side—support the demon she's enslaved to or be saved by the archangel's that want to use her as a weapon for war.

1. Kidnapped
Harley Greene wasn’t exactly a nice girl. In middle school, she bullied smaller kids and started fights with anyone that would entertain her for a bit. In high school, she graduated to smoking weed with her older friends and stealing. Harley Greene wasn’t exactly a good person, but she’d grown up. How exactly she ended up tied, gagged, and thrown into the back of a black van, well, that was something even she didn’t know. Because usually when she ended up in f****d up situations there was a reason—there was something that she’d done to deserve something like this. Not saying that she wound up in situations like this all the time. Surprisingly, this was the first time she’d ever been kidnapped. The van hit a bump and her head slammed into the wall of the van. The only windows were at the back and they had been covered so she couldn’t see anything. It didn’t matter. Her eyes were straining. They hurt like she’d been staring into the sun for too long. Her heart was pounding in her chest. She tried to think of nice things like how it was going to be okay and that they probably didn’t want to kill her. Those blatant lies. She knew them and she still whispered them to herself. The gag stretched her mouth wide and the straps bit into her cheeks. Her jaw ached. Saliva dripped down her chin and fell to her chest. They hadn’t stripped her. The only things they took from her were her bag and her shoes. She’d been wearing black combat boots which she figured was for their own safety. As she struggled to sit up, she tried to think back to what had happened moments before she’d been taken. There was just a fuzzy memory of a phone call from her cousin Kenzy. They were going to meet up—for what she couldn’t remember. Harley groaned against the gag. Her muffled noises sounded louder in the cramped darkness. She blearily looked around. It was almost pitch dark in the back of the van. The space also looked very small, like it was half the size of a regular van. She guess that the back of the van had been split into two and the black wall she was looking at was just a partition. The only other thing she could see was a large metal box that was embedded into the vehicle’s frame across from her. At least, she thought it was a box. Her light source was just a sliver of light that peeked through the crack of the van’s doors. Fuck, she thought. f**k. f**k. f**k. She didn’t know how long she’d been out or how long they’d been driving her to who the hell knew where. She wiggled in her restraints. They’d tied both her hands behind her back and her ankles together. It made it almost impossible to move. And with the gag ball in her mouth, it felt like her entire body was locked up. She shivered as the van turned a corner. Left. She had to remember just in case she got free. Though it didn’t help much that she’d been out for so long. Was it even worth trying to remember when she might end up lost anyway? She closed her eyes. She was shivering. It wasn’t cold, but goosebumps had appeared all over her body. Then, the van slowly came to a stop. She stopped her struggling as she listened as closely as she could. There was a faint hum of the engine, the murmur of voices in the distance, and then there was her harsh breathing. She tried to strain her ears past that, hoping she could pick up on a clue, but her ears were ringing with being jolted every which way during the rough ride. Then, she heard people coming around to the backside. She didn’t have much time to react. She scrambled to put her back away from the doors. She’d just turned away when the doors flew open. The bright lights of flashlights shined in her face. She winced, turning her face away, but that wasn’t enough to shield her eyes from the beams. The lights seemed as though they were burning into her retinas. She hissed, clenching her teeth, and wished that her hands weren’t bound so she could shield her face. “Well, aren’t you a pretty thing.” Harley curled her upper lip at the slow drawl of the man that stepped into the van. She couldn’t see his face, but by the smell of him, he could have looked that attractive. She felt like she was being covered in literal slime as he stepped toward her. He was crouched low so that he didn’t hit his head on the top of the van. He reached out, grabbing for her arm, but she wrenched away before he could get a hold of her. He laughed. “Dont’ start fighting now. We haven’t even started.” There was someone standing outside of the van. She couldn’t focus too much on him as she tried to fight the guy that was currently trying to get her. She glared as hard as she could and though she knew that it was futile, she did it anyway because it seemed better than not doing anything at all. With her hands and arms tied, she couldn’t fight him off like she desperately wanted to. As he came closer again, grinning down at her like he knew how much this was killing her, she did the only thing that she could do. She head-butted him as hard as she could. Their skulls cracked against one another. Harley’s teeth smashed together making a loud clacking sound. Her head ached from her forehead all the way down to her neck. Her head was spinning and for a moment, she thought she was going to pass out. She fought against the pain so that she could stay awake. She didn’t want to be out. That would make these guys’ jobs a lot easier. The man screamed in rage. “You little b***h!” He wrapped his hands around her throat and squeezed.
