Priscilla spent over 2 hours making breakfast, as she knew it would be the last one ever after she met with the Alpha today. As a graduate and soon to be 18 year old, today was the day the Pack would recognize her as a full fledged adult. Without her parents realizing anything, she had already removed all of her belongings she wanted to take, not that she had ever brought them home in the first place.
Her sticky buns were her favorite, and her father would think she made them for him as he loved them as well. What they wouldn't know is it was their farewell meal, as she knew she would never lift a finger for them again.
At 6 am sharp, the coffee finished percolating so she could fill her to go mug as she put the insulated carafe on the counter for when her parents came down. She grabbed her bag that had the last few things of hers in it as she walked out the back door and began her run to the school that was 3 miles away. This morning though she was exhilarated as she could tell she was running faster than she ever had before, and realized the voice in her mind was not a trick anymore. She could borrow the strength and speed of her Wolf, despite the fact it was still sound asleep in the back of her mind.
She made the 3 mile run in 5 minutes, knowing it was the same amount of time it used to take her to run even a mile. As a human she was in top physical condition, but barely managed as a Wolf without the strength or speed boosts they could access.
She dropped her bag in the stands around the track where the Pack warriors were setting up the large ring that they would be using later today. She used every bit of speed she could borrow from her Wolf as she ran, and knew if she had had this like the others had they would have never dared to do what they did to her. It was probably 20 minutes later when she heard clapping in the stands, and her heart sank as she came to a stop in front of the one person she didn't want to see the most.
"What do you want Tanner?" she asked as he walked over to her as he was sniffing the air carefully.
He smiled as he leaned back away from her as he had leaned in a bit while he was sniffing the air. "For now to congratulate you, it seems someone has finally gotten a Wolf." he said cutting himself off from saying her scent was now one of the sweetest things he had ever smelt. He knew it would not go over well, as he had spent far too many years teasing and bullying her.
"What of it? It's not like you had a chance to beat me either way." she said as he grabbed his heart pretending what she said had hurt him.
"Ouch, I am trying to be nice here. I doubt many of the others will even notice." he said as it had been said often and loudly that she was a worthless Human who happened to be born to Werewolves.
"Actually, I am counting on that. Why are you here so early?" she asked deciding to actually be nice to him. When he was alone he had actually been nice to her a time or two, and had spent the last two years bullying her less. He had even made his friends stop when they were with him, not that they ever would when he wasn't.
"Dad had to get here early to review the files of the graduates, and set up the tournament brackets so they are somewhat fair." he replied as her one friend in the entire school ran up to them.
"What do you want Tanner?" Jason said coldly like he was about to attack.
"Relax killer, she and I are just talking." Tanner told him holding his hands up.
"Its okay Jason, he and I were just talking about the tournament later." Priscilla said shaking her head as she walked over to the pan of sticky buns she had brought with her. "Time for breakfast. Would you like one Tanner?" she asked looking at him wondering what about his scent was so alluring now. She had spent 6 of the last 8 years hating what he did, and now all of a sudden she just wanted to bury her nose into his neck.
Tanner almost said no before she popped the lid, when the scent of still warm sticky buns filled the air. "I was going to say no, but those smell heavenly." he said as she pulled out an stack of paper plates. "Your sure there are enough?" he asked as she laughed.
"I brought a dozen of them, and if you two don't eat half, it means I will have to eat them all by myself." she said as Tanner looked at the ground.
It was the second class of the day when sje was finally called to the Alpha's school office for her conference, and she knew she would be one of the last ones because of her ranking in the Pack. It wasn't that Alpha Alexander didn't like her, it was just a fact if what the doctors had been saying for 18 years. As a wolfless, she couldn't even hold the Rank of Omega.
"Ms. Matthews, I am glad to see you are graduating today. At the top of your class no less." he said as he began sniffing the air and she knew what he was detecting. "Is that a Wolf I detect inside you?" he asked her curious as he closed the file. He of course knew it was a possibility, and had secretly been praying for it.
"According to the voice in my head this morning when I walked into the moonlight, yes. However she is still asleep, saying that she needs to rest until the full moon when we change." Priscilla replied as Alexander smiled.
"Do you know her name yet?" he asked elated.
"Adira." she replied as her Wolf woke for a second and made her eyes glow just like a normal Wolf when they were speaking through their human. The snoring resumed making her chuckle as Alexander knew this was more than he could have hoped for. History had taught them that special Wolves could not inhabit their counterpart until near their 18th birthday, especially if they were female. "Alpha, if I may, I have a request to make before the tournament begins."
Alexander smiled as he likely knew what it was. "You may, this meeting is to determine what exactly it is you want for the future, and how the Pack can assist you in achieving that goal." he told her as she smiled.
"I know it is normal that no child may reject their parents before they are officially 18, but as that is in two days time, I would like permission to do it today. After how they have treated me my entire life, I no longer wish to be associated with them." Priscilla said formally.
Alexander had expected this from her, and was glad she was not requesting to leave the Pack altogether because of it. "You have permission to perform the severance whenever you wish. Have you decided on a new name?" he asked as he pulled out the form.
"Stacy Todd." she said as he laughed and filled it in for her. She was surprised the form was mostly filled out, like he had been expecting this before he signed it and turned it to her to review and sign.
"Now, what is it you wish to do in the future?" he asked her.
She smiled as she signed it and gave it back to him. "I have a full scholarship to Supernatural University in the Business Law Program." she said happily as she had already accepted it as he was surprised.
"Well, we shall do everything we can to help you than. Tanner has also been accepted into the Alpha Training Program, so perhaps you two will see eachother there." he said as the bell rang. "You should probably go get lunch, and than head to the track field. The Senior Tournament will begin afterward." he said as she jumped up and ran out of his office.
