To be sure, Dekker’s pain made itself felt telepathically as Alain administered his “remembrance” lesson, but the younger man was soon mercifully unconscious and the pain eased. In addition, beating his opponent had relieved Alain’s aggressions and frustrations tremendously—and, while the feeling raged through him, the anguish of his telepause abated almost completely. Much as Alain hated to admit it, it felt good to beat up someone completely at his mercy.
