Chapter : 3. First day after vacation..

Ugh.. I hate this training. I hate the forest. I hate these trees and I hate climbing on them. For me, the ground is the safest place where I can run as fast as I want. What if I fall from the top? But there is no such risk even if I trip and fall on the ground. And besides, I don’t like twigs and dried leaves in my beautiful long and slightly curled hair, which gets stuck every time I climb a tree. So, I chose to run on the ground and hide behind trees to keep myself out of Mirth’s reach. Although he is faster than me in running, but his nose is not sharp like Truce, for which he could find me so easily. On top of it, my slim body is giving me advantage on hiding.

I just saw him pass by in search of me, while I was standing right behind a tree right beside him. Once I saw him go away, I took another path to run and hide in. I was running fast to avoid getting caught while looking back to see if he is coming behind me, but suddenly hit something that was running at the same speed. Both of us fell down on the ground with a loud thud and groaned out in pain. The impact was hard enough to break a tree from its roots. While rubbing my hips to soothe the pain, I found that it is Faith whom I just bumped with.

“Can’t you watch where you are going?”

“What about you?” She replied to me instantly.

“I was trying to escape from Mirth.”

“I was trying to escape from a far more dangerous creature than Mirth.”

“There is a worse creature than our brothers out there?” I asked her teasingly.

“Hey? What are you two doing on the ground?” Finally, Truce found us and came to us while huffing.

“What does it look like?” Faith replied to him before I can.

“Faith’s saying that there is a far worse creature than you two in this jungle?”

“What? Wait? Let me call Mirth. Bro.. They are here. Come fast..” He called out for Mirth and in just a minute, he was standing in front of us. Sometimes his speed really impresses me.

“What are you two doing down there?” It was his first question, just like our other brother.

“They are saying that Faith saw an unknown creature in the forest.” Truce said, as they helped both of us get up from the ground.

“Correction.. She saw a far worse creature than you two.” I corrected his speech while cleaning the dirt out of our body.

“Ha ha.. Very funny.. Now tell us what did you see?” I was finally impressed after teasing them and annoying them.

“I was hiding in a bush when I heard something moving outside. When I pecked out, I saw a huge creature standing outside with dark black fur. I was planning to escape out of there when it packed inside the bush with a deep red fiery eyes. I have never seen such red eyes before in any animal. I don’t know what it was, and I was too scared to check and ran out of that place as soon as possible.” All three of us heard Faith’s encounter silently. What creature would it be?

“Do you think it’s a bear? It was big with black fur.” It was the first thing that came into my mind.

“No. Bears don’t have red eyes. And it’s not night for it to glow red. It was something else. We should check for what it was.” Truce got ready to search for the animal.

“Yeah. You are right. It’s not only about us. It’s about everyone’s safety who comes here for training or other reason. We have to make sure that this place is safe. You two go back to uncle Ryan. We are going in there.” Mirth also agreed to Truce.

“Wait? Are you guys crazy? You want to go there alone? Didn’t you hear me correct? Whatever it was, it can be dangerous for you. We should never take such risk by ourself.”

“Yes. Faith is right. We should warn our parents first and let them decide on what to do.” No matter how much irritating our brothers are. We still love them a lot. There is no way we will let them take such a risk. So, me and faith tried to stop them.

“We are the future kings. It’s our responsibility to make sure of our pack members’ safety.”

“We are the future queen too. But it’s still ‘FUTURE’. Let’s head back and inform them about the situation. Don’t act like a stupid.” I said to them.

“Hope is right. Let’s go back. Please.”

“Fine.But if they come here in search of that creature, we are coming with them too..”

Our brothers got mad at us because we didn’t let them take the risk. Silly boys don’t understand that we are doing this for their own safety. We finally came out of the forest where uncle Ryan and aunt Michell were waiting for us.

“What took you so long? So who won the challenge?”

“No one. We got into a trouble.” Hearing Mirth’s words, the smile of their face wiped away.

“What happend? Are you guys okay? Should we call Sean or Coal?” They rushed near us and started searching for any wounds in our body.

“We are fine. Faith saw something in the forest. We had to stop the training for that.” Truce said to them.

“Saw something? What did you see?”

“I don’t know. I did'n’t see it clearly, but it was a creature with black fur and red eyes. It was really big. Bigger than a normal wolf.” Faith explained what she saw.

“Don’t worry kids. It must be a bear or something. It’s near our territory and we always make sure it’s safe. A bear must have come by to visit. But we will still check just in case.”

“Can we come too?” Truce and Mirth jumped to volunteer. They are too eager to see what it was.

“No. You guys are already getting late for school. It’s your first day after the summer vacation. Go and get ready. We will check it later.”

“Fine. Let’s go.”

We finally had to come back home to get ready for school. School days are so tiring. Once we all four got back to our rooms, me and Faith slumped down on the bed to rest a little.

“Hope. What do you think it was?”

“Didn’t you hear uncle Ryan? It was a bear. I’m definitely sure that it was a bear. Don’t worry. It won’t hurt anyone as long as it’s unharmed. Bears are not that bad.” I told her to console her fear.

“I don’t know. Even if it was a bear, I was getting a dark vibe from it. Like it is here to hunt and kill. I am a powerful werewolf. A future queen. But still, its aura scared me. I hope it dosen’t hurt anyone.”

“Don’t worry. Our parents are way too stronger than it. They will surely make our surrounding safe. Now get up and get ready. Or else Miss Silvia will throw us out of the class on our first day.” Just as I reminded her about our horrible class teacher, she jumped up and ran to take a shower.

“Hey.. I didn’t say that you could go first..” I also ran behind her because I want to take a shower first.

After fighting over the shower, the mirror, the breakfast and the car seat, finally all four of us went on our way to school. We read in Winterville academy, Junior year. It’s a human school, located out of our pack territory, in the city. It’s our last year in this high school and after this, we will be going to college. But that is if we don’t find our mates by then. Soon we are going to become 16. And once we find our mates, we will decide what to do next according to our alpha’s convenience. If he lives somewhere far, one of us have to change our home and move to another because once we find our mate, we can’t bear our heat without him. Actually, it’s our wolves who lose their control without their partner. Right now, they don’t speak to us that much. But we have heard that once they get the scent of their soulmates, they start being more active and talkative. So, we will see what the future gives us.

After an hour’s drive, we finally reached to our school. Just as we parked our car in the lot, the school bell rang, informing us that we were late.

“Shit.. Run.” Grabbing all of our bags, we jumped out of the car and ran inside the school. The hallway was all empty, informing that all the students are already in class. We are screwed today.

“Good morning class. I hope all of you had a nice..” We heard Miss Silvia start the class from outside. But that didn’t stop us from going in and all four of us ended up bumping with each other after we got inside and saw her looking at us angrily.

“What am I going to do with you four? Didn’t you have enough sleep during this entire vacation? Always late. I am letting you in today because it is the first day. But this is your last warning. If you keep this same routine, all of you will be expelled from this school.”

“Sorry, Miss Silvia. It won’t happen again.” All four of us uttered an apology together.

“Okay. Go and sit down.” We quickly rushed to our seats and slumped down on it. A loud sigh was released from our mouth by thinking that we are safe for today?

“Late again? What took you guys so long? Did uncle Ryan made you train more that usual.” Callum asked us as he was sitting on the row behind us, beside our brothers. Our seats are arranged two in a row and there are three rows. We always sit near the window and our brothers sit behind us, while Callum and our friend Emily sit’s in the middle row, right beside us.

“No. Something happend in the woods today. We will tell you everything later.” I heard Mirth say to him.

“Thanks to the moon goddess that Miss Silvia is in a good mood today. Or she might have thrown you out on your first day.” Emily said while smiling at us with a wink and we chuckled at her joke. Emily is also a werewolf like us. We mate her after we took admission in this school and since the first day here, we are best friends. And she lives in our territory too, but a little farther from our home.

“So, where was I? Yes.. I hope all of you must have taken a nice break during this summer vacation. Now it’s time to get back on..” Our teacher started her speech once again, but got stopped in the middle by another student’s entering.

“What is wrong with you guys? Why can’t you come to school at the right time? Who are you now?” She asked to the boy, attracting our attention towards him. We noticed that it is a new boy came to this school first time. He was wearing a hoodie for which we couldn’t see his face. But from his attire, we can notice that he is very tall with a well-built body. If we compare it to my brothers, he would be slightly muscular than them. Girls are going to drool over him.

“I’m Gordon. Gordon Cameron.” He said in a deep voice that echoed in the silent room like thunder. His voice was presenting power.

“Oh! The new admission. Go and take a seat you like. And don’t get late from now on.” She told him and without any emotion he just turned around to choose a seat.

For some reason, he chose the furthest corner of the room which was in our row, and walked over there from beside us. Let me tell you a truth. When he was walking beside us, a dark and dangerous aura was radiating from him, which made me scared of him in an instance. Who is this boy?
