Chapter : 11. 16th Birthday..

A new day begun with a new adventurous life’s promise. Last day went pretty nicely. But today is going to be more fun because today is our birthday. Exactly 16 years ago, me and my twin sister, along with my twin brothers, came into this world. And since that day, all four of us are living together happily, along with our supernatural kings and queen parents. These past 16 years of our life were childish and lovely. But now everything will change. After today, we won’t be the same little kids in our parents’ eyes. We will become a grown up from now on. Just getting trained physically won’t be enough. We have to prepare ourselves to become a king and queen mentally, from now on. Only two more years are left to take our parents’ responsibilities in our heads now.

If you think it this way, things seem so much complicated and hard. Are we going to be able to keep our parents’ trust? What if we disappoint them? What if we fail them as a queen? Oh! Moon goddess. Please bless us with the strength to overcome every challenge that comes in our way. Bless us with the power to defeat all of our enemies. “Faith. What are you thinking so deeply?” Hope brought me back into the real world. We are now in our room, getting ready for our morning training. Yes. They are making us train even on this special day. It’s going to be the same as every other day as we will be training and attending school like we are doing since past 16 years.

“I’m thinking about the truth that we will become a queen in next two years. How are we going to handle everything? All those responsibilities? All those expectations? What if we mess everything up and disappoint our family? It’s so stressful..” I slumped down on the bed with a light headache. All this thinking is giving me pain.

“You are really a strange one. The subject you are thinking about is going to happen after two years. It’s a long time to prepare ourselves for that. But the weird thing is, you are not thinking about the matter that is going to happen today.” I looked at Hope to understand what she was trying to say.

“What do you mean?”

“Ugh.. You dumb version of me. Have you thought about it once that we are going to get a mate today? Have you thought about who it’s going to be? Or how he is going to accept us? What if we both get one mate? What if we all four get one mate? What if..” That exact question shook me and made me wonder what is she saying.

“Wait, wait? What do you mean we four get one mate?”

“It’s just a thought came to me yesterday. If our twin father gets one mate, maybe we will get one too. There is a possibility that you and I will get the same mate. But there is also a possibility that Truce and Mirth will get the same with us because we are quadruplets.

“No, no, no.. That can’t happen. I can’t share a mate with my brothers. That’s gross. I will never accept that. Don’t even think about such a dirty thing. Eww.. It gives me creeps to think that we all four will be sharing a mate. Ughh.. Why did you have to think of something so nasty? Why did you even put it in my head?” I felt goosebumps rising in my body and a feeling of vomiting is happening in my stomach. I will never share a mate with my brothers.

“It’s just a thought, and I thought you should prepare yourself for such posibility as well as I am doing. What if it’s Callum? I know you are completely against the thought of having Callum as our mate. But what if everyone is right? What if he is our mate? What if he is all of our mate? What will you do then?”

“Stop speaking nonsense. Moon goddess will never give all four of us the same mate. It’s impossible. I can accept sharing a mate with you because I always thought about it and prepared myself for it. But not with my brothers. I will reject my mate if something like that happens. And for the matter, about Callum. I’m sure that he is not our mate. I don’t think he sees us like that. And besides, I think he is attracted to Emily. I wish he turns out to be Emily’s mate once she turns 16.” I told Hope about my thoughts and it is a hundred percent guarantee that I will reject my mate if we four siblings get one.

“Yeah. You are right. I have seen possession of Emily in Callum’s eyes. I also pray to moon goddess that she brings them together soon. Okay. Drop this discussion now. We are getting late for training.” Hope said while pulling me up from the bed by my hand.

“I don’t want to go out now. I’m scared after hearing your thoughts. What is going to happen to us?” I whined and actually didn’t want to get out of the room now.

“Nothing will happen, as we said. And even if something unexpected happens, we will face it together. I will never leave my sister’s side. Even if I have to sacrifice my mate with you, I will do it without a second thought.” Hope said while hugging me sideways.

“Really? You will do that for me? You are the best sister ever, Hope.” I hugged her too, to show my love for her.

“Hey? You two still in there? Don’t you want to go for training?” Before we can leave the room, we heard Truce and Mirth get out of their room and call us to join them. They are up already. That means we are late. With this thought, we rushed to the door and opened it to see them wait for us.

“Why are you still standing here? Why aren’t you going to the ground before us like we always do?” I asked our brothers, who are still standing for us.

“At first we were thinking about leaving you two in your room and make you two get scolded like you do to us every day. But then we thought, it’s our birthday. We cabn’t hurt our sweet little sisters on this special day. No matter what trouble you two cause for us, we still love you the most. Happy birthday Faith. Happy birthday Hope.”

“Ohh.. We love you too, our stupid overprotective brothers. Happy birthday Truce. Happy birthday Mirth.” I felt tears pricking my eyes after hearing their loving words. Once we all wished each other, we hugged them in one big group hug. I wish this bond among us siblings always stays the same.

“Good morning everyone.”

Hope greeted out in excitement as we were climbing down the stairs. But surprisingly, we got no response. Once we came downstairs, we searched everywhere and realized that the entire house is empty. Where did everyone go?

“This is strange. Our house never been so quite before.” Truce said it while he was searching for anyone in the kitchen.

“Hello..! Anyone home? Where are they?” I called out for them too.

“Did something happend here while we were asleep? Even no one is in their rooms.” Mirth came back down after searching our parents’ room.

“This is not fair. It’s our birthday. Instead, if wishing us and celebrate today’s occasion, they got vanished all of a sudden.” Hope was the last one to make another comment about their disappearance.

“Maybe they are outside. We should ask the neighbours about their whereabouts.” I suggested to them the first thought that came into my head.

“Faith is right. We should go out and search for them. Someone will be able to give us an answer.” Truce agreed to me and got out of the house. We followed him as well and went out of the house.

“SURPRISE.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY..”

The moment we got out of the house, a loud scream scared us all to death and we almost tripped on each other to step back from the danger. Later we realized that it is not any danger, but it is our family who planned a surprise birthday celebration for us. Not only our parents and godparents, but the rest of our supernatural pack members are standing in front of our gate to wish us on our birthday. It’s the biggest gathering we have attended in our 16 years’ history.

“Happy birthday, my babies. Today, you have come at your age to be called an adult. There is a bright future waiting for you now. Make decisions wisely. And never forget us, no matter where you are.” Mom is the one to come to us and hug us to wish. After her, they started coming to us one after another and taking us in a hug to wish us on our birthday. It might seem so sweet and lovely to others. But only us four know how it feels to hug not only your enormous family but also with your entire pack who came to wish you. It is truly tiresome. It took us almost an hour to finish shaking hand or hugging everyone and at last, we become so tired that I wanted to fall flat on the ground and fall asleep again. But it’s just the beginning of the day and school time is yet to come. Today is going to be a very long day.

Once they all finished wishing us, mom gave us the good news that we don’t need to train today. She gave us a free day today. So, we finally got back our strength in happiness and went inside to have some food. All this affection made me really hungry. Once we all sat on the dining table, mom pulled out a hand made a cake that she prepared specially for us. My mouth started watering from the smell of it. I wonder how delicious it’s going to taste. When we took a bite of that cake, all four of us moaned out loud at the taste of it. It’s so sweet and tasty.

“Mom.. This is heavenly. You make the best cake in the world. Thank you so much for this delicious cake.” Mirth spoke out while he still had a mouth full of cake and he was still chewing it.

“Eww.. Don’t talk while you are chewing. That’s disgusting.” Hope made a weird face after looking at Mirth, and we all started laughing to see it.

“It’s true that our mate makes the delicious food in the world.” Our dads came to mom and hugged her from both sides.

“From the name of mate. I just remembered. Callum.. Son.. Can you come here for a second?” Aunt Mia called Callum near her and made him stand in front of us.

“Faith, Hope.. Take a big whiff. Do you smell something? Something new? Something amazing that makes you want to get close to him? That makes you want to keep him near all the time? Anything?” We became nervous at first. It’s time to face our first fear. Is Callum truly our mate?

Hope and I got out of our seats, and we went near him. We both took a whiff of his scent and tried to feel any difference in him than before. A smile spread across both of our faces when we finally realized that he is none of ours mate.

“Yes.. He is not our mate. Callum is not our mate.. Yeyyy…” Both of us sisters started jumping in excitement and hugged Callum in excitement. When we broke the hug and looked at our parents, we found all of their faces down. Even Mirth and Truce were also sad to find that he is not our mate.

“It’s not something to celebrate. Why aren’t you my daughter in laws? This is so not fair.” Aunt Mia cried out like a kid.

“Mom.. Stop bothering them. I told you before. They are like my sisters. I don’t have my own siblings. So I always think of them as my own brothers and sisters. Stop expecting something that will never happen.” We became shocked to hear Callum. So, he thinks of us as his sisters too.

“Oka. Fine. I will never pick up this topic again. You are not mates anyway. But I hope who ever your mate is, he is nice and caring like my son for you. I hope my daughters get a best mate to spend their life with.” Aunt Mia said and kissed our foreheads. Now I understand why she was willing so badly for us to be mated with Callum. She wants us to get a nice man, and to keep us with her like the rest of our family. Having such a living family is truly a bliss.
