That weekend, Jae came alone when half the group went down to the Quequechan River Rail Trail. Amir had hoped he would. There were questions he needed answered and there was no way Jae would even acknowledge them with Declan around. Finding the right time to ask proved difficult. He couldn’t exactly ride up alongside Jae in front of everyone else and say, “Hey, we’ve only known each other a couple months, and even then we’ve only seen each other a handful of times, but I’m concerned about your home life.
