Chapter 5

1154 Words
Diana’s POV Amy was given the medicines for her post traumatic stress and was fast asleep. It was around 4AM in the morning, I decided to get milk and some cereal. As I got down the stairs I saw Velibor sleeping on the sofa. Last night was indeed a tiring one. Velibor and I decided to stay back for Amy as we knew it was only going to get worse from now. I had a bad hunch about this case, if Amy was attacked because she saw a dead body then could it be that the others did too? I tried to not think much about it. I was sleepless so, I decided to have some cereal and get some rest but, before I could do that I heard a knock the window. Velibor was in deep sleep so it didn’t disturb him. I walked to the window to see the silhouette of a broad shoulder, tall man. I stepped back a bit wondering who that might be. The cafe would open at 8AM and this person didn’t seem like a familiar face. I rushed to open the door. “Hi, you must be Diana. I’m detective Sam Waterson”, said the handsome young man. My mouth was agape with the delightful sight of a man that stood before me. He was a walking gift to all the women by the goddess nature herself. His fine chiseled jaw line and deep blue eyes, his perfectly sharp nose and those lips had me drooling all over him. I don’t know why I never got the chance to meet this person before. Although, I had heard of him from Velibor a couple of times. “Ah,…, Um.., May I come in?”, He asked as he held a grin on his face, showing off his pearly white teeth! “Sure!”, I said, I had successfully embarrassed myself before him by acting like a total freak! His presence had a very stupid effect on me which made me forget everything! I was now wondering where did I hear his name before? “Um…, If you don’t mind, What was it that you are here for?”, I asked. “Oh, I’m sorry did Velibor not tell you? I was the detective who interviewed the victims of the sub-way attacks. He wanted my help with this case and he told me to drop by this place”, He said. Damn! Why is he so cute? Gosh, are those his triceps! I feel like screaming my love to him and just have a rough make out session with this guy. Ah! How I wish to bite his lips and run my fingers through his dirty blonde hair. “Um…, excuse?”, He spoke again. “Hun? Yes?”, I totally spaced out! I wasn’t paying attention! Hell, what am I supposed to say? “Diana? Is someone there?”, interrupted Velibor. “Oh! Velibor, this is detective Sam. Sam Waterson, he is going to help us with the case”, I said out of excitement of having his name on my lips. “Yeah, I know, I was the one who called for his help remember?”, He said. Oh my God! Did I embarrass myself again? Gosh! Is he smiling? Why does he have to be so mesmerizing that I lose my senses all the time. “Oh! Yeah, I guess I forgot”, I said with an awkward smile. “Isn’t it a strange time to drop by Mr.Waterson?”, I spoke again as I sat on the couch opposite to Velibor and adjacent to Sam. I don’t want to embarrass myself by having him look at me as we talk. So, I decided to try and not get lost in his eyes. “Well, I had a night shift. You see, there have been these sub-way attacks at night so, I was curious and decided to keep a check on the areas myself and please, call me Sam. Mr.Waterson sounds way too old”, He said as he smiled Was he flirting? Oh my god, I’m going to pounce on him any moment now and have a rough, a real rough make out session with him! Gosh, How I wanna bite his lips and lick his jaw line. “Oh, Sam! About the victim’s testimonies. I was wondering if we could talk to them?”, said Velibor, as he pinched the bridge of his nose. This brought back the tension I had forgotten about. Amy. I was worried for her and there was this gut wrenching feeling that made me feel uneasy. “Also, I have something to show both of you”, I said as I grabbed the laptop. Velibor and Sam pecked from behind as I operated my Laptop to show them the CCTV footage that I had collected from the shop before our cafe. The video was a short one but, it did catch the man that Amy had seen in the cafe the night she was attacked. The video showed a hideous looking man wearing only black clothes with his hoodie on and walking by the cafe. The man seemed to be deliberately glaring into the CCTV camera as he walked inside the cafe. Amy was right, he really looked frightening and his eyes could keep anyone on edge. “Holy! How did u get this footage?”, Asked Sam. “I found it from the CCTV records of the shop right opposite to the cafe”, I said “This is ridiculous. Are sure the cases are linked? This guy was never spotted in any of the CCTV footage of the sub-ways”, Said Sam. “Maybe this time he wanted to be spotted. Maybe he is trying to change his pattern a little by throwing an open challenge”, Said Velibor. “We don’t know if he has even committed a murder. All that we know is a box with a blood soaked cloth and seven, including Amy, traumatized silent victims”, I said as I looked at Velibor. “Why would he change his murder pattern if, this is all we know and have no idea on who he is”, I asked. Sam stared at the laptop as he replayed the video again. “He wants to be seen by the world. You see his eyes? He doesn’t seem to look away. He knew there was a CCTV that was working. He wanted to be seen in the footage and show that he is real”, Said Sam. “Sam is right! He doesn’t want to be shut and ignored. I’m pretty sure something more is going to come up if we wait”, said Velibor. “We can’t do that! If this guy really attacks his victims to refrain from speaking of witnessing the murders he committed then, this guy might kill too many people before we get to him. God knows how many he has killed already”, I said. “I have a plan. We will have to re-investigate the attacks”, Said Velibor. I knew these attacks already had something fishy behind them. But, it seemed like there were more gruesome things awaiting us.
