As Richard finally walked into the living room, I couldn't help but notice the weariness etched into his features. Despite being gone for just four hours, it seemed like an eternity since he had left. The sun still hung low in the sky, casting a warm glow over the room as he entered.
A smile tugged at my lips as I greeted him, but his response was unexpected. Instead of returning my smile, he looked at me with a hint of disapproval, leaving me puzzled by his sudden change in demeanour.
"You are finally home," Jason remarked, breaking the awkward silence that had settled over us.
