Otis's POV
It was nighttime when I was conscious again.
"Otis, you're finally awake! Oh, poor girl. You must be having a hard time."
I slowly turned my head sideways at the sound of the familiar, gentle voice. I saw that Wynna was sitting next to me, and one of her big warm hands was grasping my hand.
Was it Wynna who had been taking care of me?
Although I was unconscious, I knew who could give me that familiar and warm feeling.
"Madam. Thank you for taking care of me. How long have I been unconscious?"
I looked out the window at the night in confusion. It was already night, so maybe I had been unconscious for half a day, or even a day and a half? Oh, that's a long time, will Conrad get more tired of me because of that?
I looked at Wynna with apprehension.
"It's the evening of the third day, and I'm much relieved that you're awake."
"What? Three days!"
I felt my head buzzing when I heard Wynna's words.
I had been in a coma for three days! Such a long time!
I sat up violently from the bed and quickly moved towards picking up my uniform that was placed on my left side.
Three days! What would Conrad think of me? Would he be even more disappointed in me? I can't lie here anymore now!
"Otis! You've just recovered, so it's too soon to go to work. You'd better rest for another day." Wynna told me worriedly, and I saw her sincere eyes.
"Madam. Thank you, but I can't continue to rest now."
I said sincerely while combing my hair and dressing, tidying up my room again, and next, I went to the kitchen. Remembering Conrad's habits, I prepared a steak for him and went to tidy up his room.
Time passed quickly, and all that pain in my head had completely disappeared, and I could feel that I was in a much better state.
"You've recovered?"
A low voice came through the door as Conrad walked in and raised an eyebrow at me.
"Yeah, I am fine now," I whispered in response to him, not daring to say more.
What is he thinking of me after I'd been unconscious for so long? Would he be angrier with me, or disgusted with me even more?
I bowed my head apprehensively and waited for his next words.
"Get up early tomorrow morning. I have some things I need you to do."
He said this briefly and then sat down at the table and ate his dinner without saying a word. His back looked so full of coldness that there was no way for me to refuse.
What was he going to arrange for me to do? Was it another trip to see the tiger or things like that?
I didn't understand what Conrad was thinking. Why did he take me to see the tiger then? Why did he have to treat me in such a way?
I could only silently pray that he would not torture me in some strange way again.
And then I quietly looked up at Conrad and locked eyes with him. He was frowning at me, his eyes were stern. I was taken aback and cowered, not daring to say anything.
Moon Goddess blessed me. No matter what he is taking me to do, I have to hold myself together, I have to hold out until the day of revenge!
Conrad's POV
Has that weak slave recovered? With such a fragile body, why didn't she resist the training I had arranged for her?
At this time, before dawn. I arrived at the door of Otis' room.
I don't know why I was bothered by her health, but I had to exercise this slave anyway. As my mate, she couldn't continue to be so weak.
I pushed the door open straight away and walked in. However, to my surprise, she was already up. I thought I would need to wake her up.
"You, follow me."
I gave her a stern look and turned around and walked out, while she followed me shivering like a rabbit. Soon we arrived at the training ground and Otis' eyes widened as she looked surprised that I had brought her to this place.
Although the day was breaking, there were already a lot of people on the training ground.
These young people on the training ground are the future warriors of my Blue-moon Pack. They have to undergo very rigorous training every day, which makes their bodies very strong and Otis couldn't compare with them at all.
In front of them, Otis was like a weak puppy.
Because of the arrival of Otis and me, they have turned their curious eyes on us. They were particularly interested in Otis, and many eyes converged on her. I understood their confusion because Otis looked so skinny and helpless that it seemed she could be crushed with one hand.
"Marsh! Come here! I need you to help train this fragile slave. She must meet the minimum standards of our warriors as soon as possible."
"What? Conrad, you want me to train her? Do you understand that she's just a fragile female?"
Marsh didn't quite believe what he was hearing. He stared wide-eyed and scrutinized Otis beside me from top to bottom.
I was a little annoyed, probably because he questioned my decision, so I aggravated my tone and said to him, "She's going to be a fighter in the future, so she has to meet the standards. You are responsible for training her. That's my order."
"O... Okay. I'll get the job done, Alpha!"
Marsh was taken aback by my stern attitude. He stood up straight and didn't dare question me anymore, then he looked to Otis, "Follow me. Our training is very rigorous, I hope you can stick with it."
"I'll stick with it! I hope you can train me with all your might!"
To my surprise, Otis responded forcefully to Marsh's words. Her eyes once again showed the same determination I had seen before, and she was both excited and surprised, without the slightest resistance.
Marsh led Otis into the interior of the training ground, and I stared at her back, a strange emotion appearing in my heart.
How could she have this attitude when she was about to face harsh training? Shouldn't she be afraid and run away, or plead with me not to let her go to training? What the hell is wrong with her? Did a few days in bed after being sick make her personality change in some strange way?
I felt incredible and quietly followed them.
I wanted to know what this weakling was thinking. Whether she was pretending to be tough or actually tough, I would be there to find out.
The training ground is very well equipped with all kinds of equipment to exercise strength, and a high fence surrounds the place to ensure that the training style will not be seen by other pack members. This is our first building after the establishment of the Blue-moon Pack, and it is also the most important building of our pack. It is here that our pack's most powerful warriors are trained, and every warrior needs to go through the baptism of blood and sweat here.
I looked in the direction where Otis was. Her test had already begun.
This is the rule of the Blue-moon Pack, all the newcomers entering the training ground must be tested by warriors who have a lot of combat experience. Only by getting beaten up before training can they be made aware of the cruelty of the training ground.
My current position was some distance away from them, and they were unable to spot me, while I was able to see all their movements clearly through my wide field of vision.
Otis's opponent was a young male werewolf. He was strong, much stronger than she was, which pretty much telegraphed to be the outcome for her, the loser.
A strong-bodied male was simply not something this fragile woman could overcome. He would be able to defeat her in just a few rounds. But making her realize how weak she was might be more helpful in helping her get stronger.
At this point, the young male werewolf had already begun his attack. His powerful fist smashed directly into Otis' face.
I frowned.
Was she going to be knocked out with one punch? Would she be able to dodge his attack? If his fist did hit Otis, she would be knocked to the ground by him. After all, her body is just too fragile.
I imagined in my mind how hard Otis had to fend him off, but the next moment I was stunned by the sight of Otis' body twisting slightly to the left to avoid the blow! At the same time, she kicked out her left foot, hitting the man in the chest without him reacting! Although his strong body did not suffer any damage as a result, it was quite impressive.
How could this be possible? How could she possess such dodging skills?
His punch just now looked simple, but most of the newcomers like Otis could barely dodge it and were only able to be hit.
Maybe she just got lucky and happened to dodge it?
My eyes widened uncontrollably. I wanted to take a closer look at the battle to determine if it was just a coincidence or not. But what happened next really surprised me. The young werewolf attacked Otis with great effort, but almost all of his attacks were easily dodged by Otis.
This kind of clever dodging skill shouldn't appear on a weak slave at all.
Conrad, our mate, is not as useless as you think. She is possessed of talent.
My wolf reminded me in my mind.
Watching her dodging skills, my heart wavered and I couldn't even help but start to appreciate her.
Maybe she wasn't so useless or weak?
