“You know all that, and you’re still sitting here saying she should go home?”
Austin’s question hits me like a ton of bricks, not because he was speaking rationally, but because he was even defending her. Was he already beginning to fall for her even though this was simply a game?
Aren’t you doing the same? The small voice in the back of my head says, causing an uneasy feeling to rush through me.
“Her brother is worried,” I repeat. “Do you want me to call him and tell him that his sister is in bed with you right now?”
I could already see how that would go over. Andrew would be pissed, and there would be a good chance that our friendship and our grade would be f****d. I wouldn’t let Austin f**k s**t up like this, no f*****g way.
