Chapter 13 work

  Kirk’s P.O.V

  It had come time for me to head back to work, but this time I was less happy and enthusiastic about going back because I wanted to be with my mate. I so badly wanted to tell Casey that I knew about her training, but I promised Luna Star that I wouldn’t say anything and I didn’t want to make Casey feel nervous or like she had any expectations to live up to, especially when she didn’t. Casey and I were still in separate rooms, even though we had marked and mated with each other. I walked to Casey’s room and knocked on the door, waiting for her to answer and a few minutes later she opened the door. I walked inside and after she closed the door I pulled her into my arms, holding her close and inhaling her scent.

  “I’m letting you know that I have to go back to my shift tomorrow, but I won’t be gone as long as I normally am. I’ll be back in a few weeks. I don’t want to be apart from you for too long.” I said, but then she sighed.

  “Kirk, don’t do that, you need to protect this pack and I don’t want you coming back early because of us being mates, I don’t want you to be distracted out there because you are thinking of me. I’ll be fine, I promise and you know that I’ll wait for you. We will be in each other's arms before you know it.” Casey replied, trying to reassure me and make me feel better about leaving her.

  “If you’re sure then I’ll do what needs to be done, but I am going to miss you.” I said and picked her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist and I carried her to the bed.

  “I want you and I want to show you just how much. I’m going to miss you and I will be back, never worry about that. I will always come back to you.” I said and she smiled while nodding at me.

  “I know and I want you to. If you’re going to be gone for a few weeks then I want your last night here to be one for you to remember, to keep you going until you get back.” Casey replied, making me smirk at how mischievous she had become. She was wearing a skirt and a white top, making her look sexier than ever. I reached down and tore her panties off, then shoved my already hard c**k deep inside her. Casey and I made love for hours that night, neither one of us wanting to let go of the other. When I woke up the next morning I took a shower and got dressed, but the whole time my eyes were on her sleeping figure. She looked so peaceful and I didn’t have the heart to wake her up to say goodbye, so I left her a note.

  I took off outside and into the woods, shifting when I got to the tree line.

  Casey’s P.O.V

  I woke up at six in the morning and only had an hour to shower, get dressed, eat breakfast and get out to the training ground for the warriors. I turned over in bed and saw a piece of paper on the pillow next to me. I opened it up and read the note that Kirk had left, smiling as I held his pillow close and inhaled his scent. I jumped off the bed and hurried to take a shower, after realising that I didn’t have much time. I got out, dried off and went back into the bedroom to get dressed. I put on my shorts, blue top and tennis shoes, then tied my hair up in a ponytail. I saw the time and hurried out of my room, down the stairs and straight into the kitchen. At this rate I was going to be late for my first day of training, but I knew I needed to eat breakfast. Star always made sure we did that before we did any training, so I had eggs and toast. I filled up my water bottle and then headed outside, making it to the training ground with just under twenty minutes to spare. I was shocked that I made it here so soon, but then again I did eat fast and thankfully my breakfast was already made when I got to the kitchen. Everyone else started coming to train and I started to feel really nervous. I had trained before, but I wasn’t sure what kind of training they did here, but I didn’t care. I wanted to do this, I needed to do this. A few minutes later the lead trainer Devon came out and stood in the middle of the training ground as we all stood in a circle around him.

  “Everyone, we have a new trainee with us today, her name is Casey and she wants to train to be a warrior.” Devon announced, making me the centre of attention, which I hated. Everyone said hello to me, welcoming me to the group and I smiled, giving them a little wave.

  “Alright class, first thing this morning I want forty laps around the training ground and then we will do some warm ups.” Devon announced and we all started running. We finished doing the forty laps and then we did the warm ups. We had to do squats, sit ups, push ups, leg lifts and much more. My legs and everything else was hurting, but I carried on and pushed through.

  “Alright everyone, I want you to grab a team mate and square off against each other.” Devon announced, so we all grabbed a partner. I was teamed up with a she-bear called Tracey and I was really nervous, but I didn’t show it. Here I go, I thought to myself as I faced her.
