Unknown Rogue’s P.O.V
Snapping the neck of my prey was the best thing in the world, especially when it came to watching the life drain out of their eyes. I loved that feeling and it made my food taste just that bit better. I took the rabbit in my hands, skinning it and cooking it over an open fire. I was used to being on my own in the wilderness, to me there was no better feeling, but I hated being in a pack. Hell, I don’t even like rogue packs. I am a lone rogue and I love to hunt for fun, sometimes I like to kill my prey and just leave it there, while other times, like now I eat it. I bounced from pack to pack, just using them for their hot water and she-wolves, then leaving, but the last pack I was in threw me out. I tried to sleep with the Luna of the pack, but could you blame me when she had legs that would go on forever, eyes of a Goddess and a body to die for. I almost had her too, but then the Alpha came into the room and ruined everything for me. He beat the everloving s**t out of me, but the whole time I just laughed at him. He put me in the dungeon that night, refusing to kill me and instead deciding to just exile me because of his mate and Luna begging him, which was a big mistake on his part, but I wasn’t going to tell him that. After two months of being in the dungeon, getting the s**t kicked out of me every night I was thrown out of the pack, which suited me just fine and now here I am living the life of a lone rogue.
He let me go all because of his mate and I never understood that, I could never just have one woman and in all honesty I don’t think I have a mate out there, but even if I do, I don’t think I would ever be able to stay faithful to her. I’m too much of a player and I love being on my own, so a mate would just ruin that. I don’t like the rules a pack comes with and I tend to break every single one of them, so having a mate and cheating on her would break the main rule. Even without belonging to a pack I still break the rules and often run across the Black Bear pack every now and then, just to see how far I’ll get. Sometimes I have made it to Red Moon pack territory, but each time I try to see if there is a way to sneak inside without being caught. I love the thrill of it. I am currently on Black Bear territory and have just finished feasting on my rabbit and am now leaning back, relaxing and looking at the night sky. Pretty soon the guards from this pack will be out, patrolling the land, so I need to find a place to hide and rest for the night because if they see me then they will chase me down and probably either torture me to find out why I am on their territory or kill me straight out. I find a cave I have used before and stay in from time to time and go inside. It's a deep cave and I always make sure I’m right at the very back, where no one will find me and no one will smell my scent. I get onto the makeshift bed I made the last time I was here and lay back, falling to sleep and wondering what tomorrow will bring.
Penny’s P.O.V
I can’t believe I made it as a guard. I have worked hard for several years, trained hard every day and even had to take a test, but I finally did it. The Black Bear was known for its training program and there was so much to do in order to become a guard, but it was so worth it. I am now the fourth girl in my class that got to be a guard and I love it because it is a big honour as this program was created by Alpha Star. Every time a new class graduates and are made guards we start our first shift straight away, but we have others with us because we are new to it. It was my turn to take over a shift and I would have five others with me, three experienced guards and two that had just graduated like me. We had to walk from one end of our section to the other and it would take hours because the sections were pretty big, but it's all part of the job. I started my shift at six-pm sharp and started walking with the other two graduates, Will and Karen. We walked from one end of our section to the other, with one keeping an eye on the right side of the woods, one keeping an eye on the left side of the woods and the other looking ahead. The three experienced guards would walk behind us, doing the same, but they would also be keeping an eye on us as well, giving us on the job training. Every now and then we would see a rabbit or deer, sometimes field mice would run past us to get away from the owls and snakes. It was a fun sight to see a rattlesnake cross your path, but then I saw one that looked to be next to a pile of small bones. I could smell the blood and knew that the snake had recently killed whatever animal this was, but it confused me because I thought snakes ate their food whole and this looked like it had been chewed or something. I didn’t bother to alert the others and just took my axe, chopping off the head of the rattlesnake and giving it no more thought as we continued on the rest of our walk. A few hours passed when we finally made it to the other side of our section and then it was time to head back to the other side, but the whole time I kept smelling this god awful smell, which made my nose crinkle. The others smelled it too, but none of us could work out what it was or where it was coming from. We all just put it down to some animal dying somewhere as it smelled like death and carried on walking, but we were all annoyed that we hadn’t found any rogues trespassing. Don’t get me wrong it was good that we hadn’t, but it also meant that none of us got the thrill of the chase and fight. Maybe we will see some on the way back, I thought, sighing as we began the walk back to the other side.
